Disappointed.... The portions seemed small, the taste of the food lacking. I had the avocado toast *sigh* and the cappuccino, and the cheesecake. Nothing tasted good really. I would not return. I did like the outdoor aesthetic though. The service was tolerable nothing special. I hate to leave such a review but yeah.... Their prices were ok.

This is a cute little spot. The matcha was great, not too sweet and super earthy. The combo on the other hand was not so great. My food was almost cold right as it came out, and the potatoes were lacking flavor. It also took 20ish minutes. If I had just gotten the matcha this would have been

This is such a darling and welcoming coffee shop we discovered in a quick trip to Morro Bay. We were drawn by the variety of iced coffee options and didn't intend to get any bakery treats, but couldn't help ourselves once we saw them. If we had not been on our way to a funeral, we definitely would have eaten in the outside patio area as there was ample seating. The morning was unexpectedly warm, the sun was shining and the birds were chirping so I would highly recommend making time to stay for a while and sip and eat at Buttercup. The eclectic space suits a variety of tastes and makes anyone feel like a friend. I was really bummed we were on a tight schedule that we hd to get our order togo. We ordered the Coconut Cold Brew from their signature menu and then two different cookies for later. I sure wish I would have bought more cookies because sharing them on the long drive home was hard because of their delicious, well balanced flavors with a nice slight crunch and a soft chewy center! Hands down the best ginger molasses cookie I have ever had! I highly recommend you add Buttercup Bakery & Cafe to your morning stop when you are in Morro Bay to start your day off right!

Been to this place several time, was surprised to see that I haven't reviewed it yet. This review is for takeout. So good we came in to pick up our care package. They have very limited seating inside but do have seating outside. In the winter it's can be a little cool. This was one of the first places we ever ate at. If you're staying in town, I would recommend picking up your morning coffee and pastier and walk to the embarcadero and see the Otters. A good way to start out the day. You will not be disappointed with any of the pastries. My favorite is the "Morning Bun" the best in town. Plenty of street parking.

A cute cafe with decent coffee and lots of delicious pastry offerings. This shop is within close proximity to a lot of shops and there is plenty of parking. Enjoy!

As expected with a group our size, there was a bit of a wait, but what stood out was how well the staff managed expectations from the moment we ordered. They were transparent about timing, which made the experience feel organized and considerate rather than frustrating. While some of us were already enjoying our drinks and food, the owner personally came out to thank our group for stopping by. That level of hospitality really stood out. At a time when genuine customer appreciation can sometimes feel rare, that personal touch made a big impression on us. The service felt warm, personable, and authentic, and the quality of both the food and drinks matched the experience. I would make a point to stop here again next time I'm in Morro Bay.

Whether you're here for a pastry, a sweet treat, a healthy dog treat, a coffee, or anything else, they've always treated everyone like family. No one is just a customer. I will always cherish my memories of the first cinnamon crisp when I was barely old enough to walk. All these years later, they still impress me with fresh baked goods and the best ice cream! She treated my family wonderfully and took the time to explain all the treats, which made the experience genuinely enjoyable. This time, however, things were different. When I came back, there was a very short 4 ft man wearing a hairnet and another woman behind the counter. The woman glanced at me and immediately turned away, while the man gave me a hollow, thousand-yard Gen Z stare. To make matters worse, they didn't heat up my scrumptious snuggle treat--it was served cold. If those two hadn't been more focused on flirting with each other, this visit might have been a good experience too.

I asked for a Mango something smoothie but no pineapple, be creative. The place has a good variety of drinks and edibles, sandwiches, salads, avocado toast, and on and on. If you don't see it they would probably make it for you. Now granted I was the only order being made at this moment and my smoothie was delivered to me as I sat at the bistro table out front. I was surprised how flavorful the smoothie was, I don't know why I thought that but it did taste good, a bit pricy. I'm good with pricy and this was backed up with quality ingredients and stellar service. Ah...yes and supporting local business is good for everyone Thanks, I'll see you again! Foodguy-Martin

The person working there (owner?) Was hustling hard. She was working the register. Cleaning the tables. Handing out the food. Making the food and drinks in the back. She was a 1 woman wrecking crew. But still was able to get everyone's stuff out in a timely manner. Without sacrificing customer service. We ordered their chai latte and a black medium roast coffee. As well as a breakfast burrito and a rock harburrito. We forgot to tell her it was to go as we were trying to get back home before the LA traffic started. Imagine to my surprise when she came out with the food and it was to go!! The chai latte was really good. I loved it. And my wife really enjoyed it. Black coffee was good too. No frills. No fluff. But it kept me awake for the 4.5 hour drive home. So that works. The breakfast burrito was really good. My wife enjoyed hers. And mines was good too. Packaged really well. Ate it while driving so that really facilitated us getting home before the traffic. It was a very hearty burrito the rock harburrito. Gave us some green sauce to go with it. And it was just amazing. The inside is somewhat cramped with many tables and chairs. She also sells baked goods. And some random things. Like coffee mugs and other things. Nice signs all over the place as well as in the parking lot about the importance of coffee!! I really loved the hustle. And the food and drink was amazing. Not more you can ask for.
