I've eaten here once before and I got a tempeh sandwich that was pretty good. I decided to try this Tostada bowl. The base was a fried tortilla and inside wer beans, greens, rice and a delicious sauce. It was really good. Probably my fave over the sandwich. They have a lot of canned drinks to choose from, some vegan desserts. They also have fresh smoothies inside. I usually like to stop there once when I go to Morro Bay. Def give it a try.

First time here, Quick kind service in a small coastal town vibe. It's a small restaurant with a loaded menu! I ordered 1 vegetable spring roll for $5 and it was worth it! Great mix of veggies and tempeh and was a flavorful. Would stop here again for this, and to venture their menu!

So we drove from Paso Robles to Morro Bay just to have lunch at Shine and it was so good. Again, the T.L.T. (tempeh, lettuce, tomato) was great! Not sure how they prepare their tempeh but it was very flavorful. The Hummus Wrap was huge and delicious but maybe a bit light on the hummus. The red lentil Dahl soup was wonderfully balanced and good comfort food. I'll be back for sure!

Stopped in for smoothies, veggie rolls and tacos. My husband wasn't a big fan of his jackfruit tacos. My veggie rolls were massive. I really should've just got 2 instead of 3. I really liked them except the tempeh was too smokey for my liking. Smoothies were good. The person working the juice/smoothie area was super nice.

I tried the dragon fruit smoothie and it was so delicious. I want to come back just for this smoothie.

The service is super fast. They are super kind and the smoothie was super delicious. The space is very cozy and they have different food options. It all smells very delicious. I wish I would've tried more on the menu.

    Wrap, spring rolls, tempeh sandwich.

This place is super healthy and everything here is presented well. The wraps and sandwiches are great and they hold well until the very last bite. The sauces are super tasty and brings it all together. Highly recommend if you are in SLO, Paso, Cambia, etc (make the drive here).

I went to Shine Cafe on Sunday and haven't stopped thinking about how delicious it is ever since! I found it after searching for vegan spots as my family are mainly plant based. The spring rolls were so delicious I wish I ordered 20 of them. The staff was incredibly kind and we found a table inside very easily. Overall can't wait to plan a trip back to Morro Bay to eat here again! So good I had to get a tote bag to remember it!

Our most favorite restaurant in Morro Bay. The food here is fresh, vegan, colorful with delicious dressings and sauces. Visit the market, supplement store and juice bar too! Highly recommended !

    Rueben sandwich

The veggie wraps were huge but if you eat this then dine in. As, the rice paper wrap sticks to the paper Togo box and then you have to peel off paper from the wraps. Overall the filling in that wrap with the quinoa bean mixture was good it was like Tex mex flavoring. The Reuben with the tempeh and thinly sliced sauerkraut was great! I would order the Reuben again!

My favorite plant-based/vegan restaurant in SLO county! Shine Cafe is the perfect spot for a casual lunch and healthy takeout food. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food always tastes fresh. The cafe is quaint with both indoor/outdoor seating options. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. The Vegetable Spring rolls are HUGE and are a must-order menu item!! The seasoned tempeh has a great flavor, the carrots/red cabbage add a nice crunch, and the avocado & sesame ginger dressing are delicious. I highly recommend ordering these. I am not vegan, but I have thoroughly enjoyed all the entrees I have tried here. If you are looking for a lunch spot with nutrient dense, filling, high quality foods, Shine Cafe should be on your list! I definitely will be back to try more menu items.

Sushi rolls w/freshly made dipping sauce

Wonderful fresh vegetarian meals , they make their own salad dressings. These gems are hard to find especially when traveling so glad I stopped in enormous portions of salads too. They have freshly cooked garbanzo beans not canned, and to show off they put goji berries on salad as well , get the cute sushi avocado rolls also good

As expected with a group our size, there was a bit of a wait, but what stood out was how well the staff managed expectations from the moment we ordered. They were transparent about timing, which made the experience feel organized and considerate rather than frustrating. While some of us were already enjoying our drinks and food, the owner personally came out to thank our group for stopping by. That level of hospitality really stood out. At a time when genuine customer appreciation can sometimes feel rare, that personal touch made a big impression on us. The service felt warm, personable, and authentic, and the quality of both the food and drinks matched the experience. I would make a point to stop here again next time I'm in Morro Bay.

But still was able to get everyone's stuff out in a timely manner. Without sacrificing customer service. We ordered their chai latte and a black medium roast coffee. As well as a breakfast burrito and a rock harburrito. We forgot to tell her it was to go as we were trying to get back home before the LA traffic started. Imagine to my surprise when she came out with the food and it was to go!! The chai latte was really good. I loved it. And my wife really enjoyed it. Black coffee was good too. No frills. No fluff. But it kept me awake for the 4.5 hour drive home. So that works. The breakfast burrito was really good. My wife enjoyed hers. And mines was good too. Packaged really well. Ate it while driving so that really facilitated us getting home before the traffic. It was a very hearty burrito the rock harburrito. Gave us some green sauce to go with it. And it was just amazing. It's a generous portion (around $16) and packed with so much texture and flavor--crisp cabbage, peas, sunflower seeds, crunchy ramen noodles, chicken, and an Asian-style dressing that pulls it all together. It's fresh, satisfying, and consistently good every single time. This Morro Bay location is a bit smaller, but every bit as charming. The interior has an inviting decor, but seating is limited. There are also outdoor tables along the side the building. The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. I ordered the Morro Miso Ramen (without the egg to keep it vegan) and added extra tofu. The broth was rich and comforting, with roasted garlic, miso, and chili oil bringing a really nice depth of flavor. The pickled corn was sweet and Fresno peppers added a bright, tangy kick that kept every bite interesting, and I appreciated how thoughtfully layered the bowl was overall. BUT... let's talk tofu math for a second. The bowl normally comes with just one piece of tofu (about 3-3.5 inches), which already feels a little light for a ramen. Since I removed the egg, I added three more pieces for $4.25. Totally fine...except now I'm paying extra to replace something I didn't want in the first place. Meanwhile, my husband's poke bowl, about the same price was absolutely loaded with fish. I mean... I get it, but also... I don't get it. Why are those of us who don't eat animals always doing bonus round pricing just to get a balanced meal? All that said, the food itself was good. My husband loved his bowl so much he was ready to go back again the next day. Me? I was more in the mood to explore other spots around Morro Bay, mostly because I'm still side-eyeing that tofu situation.Delicious, but the protein upcharge logic is...a choice.
