We were looking for authentic Birria tacos in Morro Bay and saw the great reviews on yelp and decided to check it out. They were so delicious!! You place order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. I was surprised that they serve complimentary fresh made chips and salsa, the chips were literally fried right there. Service is friendly and efficient.

Excellent food at a great price! We stopped in here on the way to the water. Everything was delicious and had a home-cooked flavor. We tried the carne asada fajitas, chorizo sopes, queso sopes, huevos rancheros. All menu items were available even though it was still fairly early when we arrived. The waitress was very sweet and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Definitely a hidden gem right across the street from High Tide. They have 6 breakfast options. My wife had the huevos rancheros which she enjoyed. I had the Guerrero burrito that included rice, beans, egg and chorizo. It was excellent. Two breakfast items and one coffee for $25. Can't beat that!

We had decided on in Mexican food in Morrow Bay. We researched and actually drove past about five of them to see which one we would eat at we decided to eat across from the yacht club, which is a distillery as well. The food was better than ever and we're from San Jose so we get great Mexican food. We met the owner. Nice person is worth the drive anytime we're in this area. I give a 10 of five stars.

Probably the best place to get tacos around. The tamale was fresh and was good but the tacos were outstanding. Truly homemade tortillas. Service was great and food came out fast and hot.

Ok so, I really wanted some tacos. Morro Bay is not unfamiliar, BUT other than the old favorites on Embarcadero for seafood, we don't really venture too far off the beaten path. And if you're like me, you rely on reviews and recommendations. And I'll tell you what, the stars don't lie! We hurried to get there before they closed at 7. Ordered two carnita tacos. Carnitas is always my go-to. Sometimes it can be too salty or too fatty so I like to try carnitas wherever I can. And man, oh man! They were perfect! Not fatty at all (or greasy), not too salty, and had that perfect broiled crunch. I got green sauce and red sauce. The green sauce was tangy and flavorful. The red sauce was so good and so hot!!! BEWARE! Hubby wanted mole that says served everyday, but they didn't have it that day. Go figure. But I will guess to say it's made fresh daily and since we were there before closing, probably done for the day. So he ordered Camarones a la Diabla w/rice and beans. He did ask for flour tortillas as well. "Harina" I believe what he got was corn. Definitely tasted like corn. But wow! They were amazing! And handmade! Rice was not dry and fluffy but moist and fluffy with some stickiness. Actually, the way I prefer it. Very delicious. The beans were freshly mashed with chunks of whole beans, which I love! And hubby said the camarones (shrimp) was spicy AF but totally worth the burn! He loves those camarones! I woke up thinking about those tortillas but waited until our last day in town to go back for more. This time we got the mole and two more carnita tacos. The mole was worth the wait! It was so freaking good! Pretty spicy, though. Hubby also tried the pastor tacos, which he says are really good! Oh, the table salsa was also really good but I didn't get a picture because we ate it pretty fast. And the chips were good too! This time we also ordered some tortillas to go! One order is 3 tortillas. And service.... Chef's kiss! The young ladies were very sweet and polite. And gave us good service while we dined outside in the patio with our granddog, Hughie. 5 stars all the way!!!!

    Wet burrito! So wet!

Amazing, I had the quesabirria four taco combo and it was delish, especially the dipping sauce that I learned was a mix of tomatillo and ancho chile. We got there an hour before closing and had our 3 month old baby with us. He was really sleepy and naturally waited till our food arrived to get fussy so I started walking him around the restaurant. To my surprise, the owner comes out from the kitchen and she asks if she can hold him! We're like LOL of course! She asked his name, we learned that she and her husband run the restaurant and they have three kids. Honestly they were so nice and friendly and the food was really good. It was a uniquely positive experience!

    Morro combo platter. Tasty!
    Sabrina D.

Solid food with great flavor and good portions for the price. My combo platter was delicious and filling. The complimentary chips are perfect. And the service is awesome. I'm on crutches and the gal working helped bring everything out to me that I couldn't carry. This place is tucked away, I've not noticed it for the past 5 years. Today I stopped by and had a wonderful dinner and a beer while enjoying the sun set. Just lovely!

Delicious home cooked mexican food. It reminds me of an abuelas cooking. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is inviting. The food is hot and delicious. Literally the best menudo I have ever had, so authentic! Also, HOMEMADE tortillas! I hope more people are able to check this gem out.

    Chips and salsa
    Josue S.

The server was a great guy! The restaurant had a mom and pop vibe which it didn't disappoint since the food was great. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a good taste. Not too spicy but great flavor. Asada was cooked perfectly. The red salsa that was given with the torta had a bit of a kick to it but wasn't overpowering.

One man at the cash register taking orders. You could read the menu behind him posted on the wall. Very basic options and the interior seating was at 1950s style linoleum kitchen tables and chairs. Probably bought at a flea market. We were crushed. I had a combo platter of one crispy carnitas taco at $23. Ground beef. Very basic and lacked flavor. Outrageous for over $20. Wife had two enchiladas a la carte, cheese and green at $13. Mush. At least we have our memories and hope that someone will come along to resurrect it into at least something close to what was.

Here's what we noticed: - The inside is pretty nice, lighter inside than you would expect from looking at it on the outside because of the skylights. The paint inside is a little tired and there's some cobwebs, etc. around but it still had a nice atmosphere. The chairs and tables are a bit tired, but ok. - The menu is pretty broad, and the prices seemed pretty reasonable. - My wife and I decided to split two different meals, the Al Pastor Burrito (which was served with a small salad) and the combo plate of Sofa and Chili Relleno. The portions on both dishes were really good, such that we took half the burrito home for later. The food was very tasty! - Service was just fine, although it was a pretty quiet time at lunch on a Thursday. Bottom line: This is a solid Mexican place, better than some in the area. We'll come back again, maybe to get take-out next time.

We didn't have to wait very long for our table of 6 to be seated. We were promptly offered beverages and ordered an appetizer. Crab cakes to start were excellent! A perfect bite before our main entrees. My mom ordered their seafood steamer. Everything was cooked excellently, and was absolutely delicious. My 6 year old daughter got their black bean burrito. I didn't have any of this, but my 1 year old shared it with her and there were no complaints from either. My step father ordered the baja fih tacos. These were absolutely delicious as well! My boyfriend got their fish and chips, zero complaints. Also incredibly tasty. I ordered the clams and linguine noodles. I have to say... These were one of the most delicious preparations of clams I have EVER had. The most flavorful broth. Garlicky, tomato-y, phenomenal. We inhaled every bite and asked for some bread to soak up the goodness at the end. 10 outta 10, reccomend!! On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.
