We were looking for authentic Birria tacos in Morro Bay and saw the great reviews on yelp and decided to check it out. They were so delicious!! You place order at the counter and they will bring your food to you. I was surprised that they serve complimentary fresh made chips and salsa, the chips were literally fried right there. Service is friendly and efficient.

Excellent food at a great price! We stopped in here on the way to the water. Everything was delicious and had a home-cooked flavor. We tried the carne asada fajitas, chorizo sopes, queso sopes, huevos rancheros. All menu items were available even though it was still fairly early when we arrived. The waitress was very sweet and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

Definitely a hidden gem right across the street from High Tide. They have 6 breakfast options. My wife had the huevos rancheros which she enjoyed. I had the Guerrero burrito that included rice, beans, egg and chorizo. It was excellent. Two breakfast items and one coffee for $25. Can't beat that!

We had decided on in Mexican food in Morrow Bay. We researched and actually drove past about five of them to see which one we would eat at we decided to eat across from the yacht club, which is a distillery as well. The food was better than ever and we're from San Jose so we get great Mexican food. We met the owner. Nice person is worth the drive anytime we're in this area. I give a 10 of five stars.

Probably the best place to get tacos around. The tamale was fresh and was good but the tacos were outstanding. Truly homemade tortillas. Service was great and food came out fast and hot.

Ok so, I really wanted some tacos. Morro Bay is not unfamiliar, BUT other than the old favorites on Embarcadero for seafood, we don't really venture too far off the beaten path. And if you're like me, you rely on reviews and recommendations. And I'll tell you what, the stars don't lie! We hurried to get there before they closed at 7. Ordered two carnita tacos. Carnitas is always my go-to. Sometimes it can be too salty or too fatty so I like to try carnitas wherever I can. And man, oh man! They were perfect! Not fatty at all (or greasy), not too salty, and had that perfect broiled crunch. I got green sauce and red sauce. The green sauce was tangy and flavorful. The red sauce was so good and so hot!!! BEWARE! Hubby wanted mole that says served everyday, but they didn't have it that day. Go figure. But I will guess to say it's made fresh daily and since we were there before closing, probably done for the day. So he ordered Camarones a la Diabla w/rice and beans. He did ask for flour tortillas as well. "Harina" I believe what he got was corn. Definitely tasted like corn. But wow! They were amazing! And handmade! Rice was not dry and fluffy but moist and fluffy with some stickiness. Actually, the way I prefer it. Very delicious. The beans were freshly mashed with chunks of whole beans, which I love! And hubby said the camarones (shrimp) was spicy AF but totally worth the burn! He loves those camarones! I woke up thinking about those tortillas but waited until our last day in town to go back for more. This time we got the mole and two more carnita tacos. The mole was worth the wait! It was so freaking good! Pretty spicy, though. Hubby also tried the pastor tacos, which he says are really good! Oh, the table salsa was also really good but I didn't get a picture because we ate it pretty fast. And the chips were good too! This time we also ordered some tortillas to go! One order is 3 tortillas. And service.... Chef's kiss! The young ladies were very sweet and polite. And gave us good service while we dined outside in the patio with our granddog, Hughie. 5 stars all the way!!!!

    Wet burrito! So wet!

Amazing, I had the quesabirria four taco combo and it was delish, especially the dipping sauce that I learned was a mix of tomatillo and ancho chile. We got there an hour before closing and had our 3 month old baby with us. He was really sleepy and naturally waited till our food arrived to get fussy so I started walking him around the restaurant. To my surprise, the owner comes out from the kitchen and she asks if she can hold him! We're like LOL of course! She asked his name, we learned that she and her husband run the restaurant and they have three kids. Honestly they were so nice and friendly and the food was really good. It was a uniquely positive experience!

    Morro combo platter. Tasty!

Solid food with great flavor and good portions for the price. My combo platter was delicious and filling. The complimentary chips are perfect. And the service is awesome. I'm on crutches and the gal working helped bring everything out to me that I couldn't carry. This place is tucked away, I've not noticed it for the past 5 years. Today I stopped by and had a wonderful dinner and a beer while enjoying the sun set. Just lovely!

Delicious home cooked mexican food. It reminds me of an abuelas cooking. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is inviting. The food is hot and delicious. Literally the best menudo I have ever had, so authentic! Also, HOMEMADE tortillas! I hope more people are able to check this gem out.

    Chips and salsa
    Josue S.

The server was a great guy! The restaurant had a mom and pop vibe which it didn't disappoint since the food was great. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a good taste. Not too spicy but great flavor. Asada was cooked perfectly. The red salsa that was given with the torta had a bit of a kick to it but wasn't overpowering.

The interior has an inviting decor, but seating is limited. There are also outdoor tables along the side the building. The Rock Shoyu Ramen had a good amount of noodles along with three good-sized pieces of pork belly (albeit a bit fatty), pickled fresno peppers & shallots, topped with green onion, an ajitama, umami-rich egg and a sheet of nori. The broth was complex with the duck fat and togarashi; it is noted the broth contains pork, chicken and dasmi. It was excellent. Their Beef Bulgogi Bowl was quite good. It consisted of four char grilled filet mignon skewers (2 pieces per skewer), kimchi, shredded carrots & daikon, pickled red onion, avocado slices, over herbed brown rice and topped with green onions, black sesame seeds, basil and a gochujang glaze. The portion was generous and quite filling. Service was friendly, and our selections were delivered in short order from the kitchen.

Cute little place with lovely decor- very inviting. You order the minute you come inside. It's very casual and when you are done you put your empty dishes away in the back. I just wished couple of sauces were offered such as eel or teriyaki sauce, ponzu sauce, or spicy mayo sauce on the side. The sauces would have given it the extra life. Now the ramens....complete passes on both. Noodle texture was probably the best thing for both ramens. Both broth was too sweet and it didn't pass for me as a tasty ramen of any sort. Edible...sure, but I wouldn't come back to eat this.

Unfortunately, their sandwiches are about the same - at least the one I try. I ordered a turkey on a roll with lettuce, cheese, and mayo. The bread was still SO DRY that I couldn't like the sandwich at all. I did order a small pizza and a hotdog. These are new to the menu since I was there last. After waiting an incredibly long amount of time to get my order, I was at least happy with the pizza and hot dog. Glad to have a hot dog option next to the theatre so I can sneak one in!! I ordered extra cheese on the pizza but I didn't need to. I am happy to upgrade my star rating to 3-stars for those two new items. I am picky about the bread for my sandwiches and honestly the only one I liked was when you had the sliced wheat bread option available one day as a fluke. I will go to Mr. Pickles for my sandwiches from now on, but I might stop in for a pizza or a dog.

By the way, clean bathrooms are outside the restaurant in a separate building. Parking is all along the water front...no problem. A very nice and surprisingly varied menu is all yours.
