Excellent food at a great price! We stopped in here on the way to the water. Everything was delicious and had a home-cooked flavor. We tried the carne asada fajitas, chorizo sopes, queso sopes, huevos rancheros. All menu items were available even though it was still fairly early when we arrived. The waitress was very sweet and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.

We had decided on in Mexican food in Morrow Bay. We researched and actually drove past about five of them to see which one we would eat at we decided to eat across from the yacht club, which is a distillery as well. The food was better than ever and we're from San Jose so we get great Mexican food. We met the owner. Nice person is worth the drive anytime we're in this area. I give a 10 of five stars.

Definitely a hidden gem right across the street from High Tide. They have 6 breakfast options. My wife had the huevos rancheros which she enjoyed. I had the Guerrero burrito that included rice, beans, egg and chorizo. It was excellent. Two breakfast items and one coffee for $25. Can't beat that!

Probably the best place to get tacos around. The tamale was fresh and was good but the tacos were outstanding. Truly homemade tortillas. Service was great and food came out fast and hot.

Ok so, I really wanted some tacos. Morro Bay is not unfamiliar, BUT other than the old favorites on Embarcadero for seafood, we don't really venture too far off the beaten path. And if you're like me, you rely on reviews and recommendations. And I'll tell you what, the stars don't lie! We hurried to get there before they closed at 7. Ordered two carnita tacos. Carnitas is always my go-to. Sometimes it can be too salty or too fatty so I like to try carnitas wherever I can. And man, oh man! They were perfect! Not fatty at all (or greasy), not too salty, and had that perfect broiled crunch. I got green sauce and red sauce. The green sauce was tangy and flavorful. The red sauce was so good and so hot!!! BEWARE! Hubby wanted mole that says served everyday, but they didn't have it that day. Go figure. But I will guess to say it's made fresh daily and since we were there before closing, probably done for the day. So he ordered Camarones a la Diabla w/rice and beans. He did ask for flour tortillas as well. "Harina" I believe what he got was corn. Definitely tasted like corn. But wow! They were amazing! And handmade! Rice was not dry and fluffy but moist and fluffy with some stickiness. Actually, the way I prefer it. Very delicious. The beans were freshly mashed with chunks of whole beans, which I love! And hubby said the camarones (shrimp) was spicy AF but totally worth the burn! He loves those camarones! I woke up thinking about those tortillas but waited until our last day in town to go back for more. This time we got the mole and two more carnita tacos. The mole was worth the wait! It was so freaking good! Pretty spicy, though. Hubby also tried the pastor tacos, which he says are really good! Oh, the table salsa was also really good but I didn't get a picture because we ate it pretty fast. And the chips were good too! This time we also ordered some tortillas to go! One order is 3 tortillas. And service.... Chef's kiss! The young ladies were very sweet and polite. And gave us good service while we dined outside in the patio with our granddog, Hughie. 5 stars all the way!!!!

Amazing, I had the quesabirria four taco combo and it was delish, especially the dipping sauce that I learned was a mix of tomatillo and ancho chile. We got there an hour before closing and had our 3 month old baby with us. He was really sleepy and naturally waited till our food arrived to get fussy so I started walking him around the restaurant. To my surprise, the owner comes out from the kitchen and she asks if she can hold him! We're like LOL of course! She asked his name, we learned that she and her husband run the restaurant and they have three kids. Honestly they were so nice and friendly and the food was really good. It was a uniquely positive experience!

The server was a great guy! The restaurant had a mom and pop vibe which it didn't disappoint since the food was great. The chips were fresh and the salsa had a good taste. Not too spicy but great flavor. Asada was cooked perfectly. The red salsa that was given with the torta had a bit of a kick to it but wasn't overpowering.

Delicious home cooked mexican food. It reminds me of an abuelas cooking. The staff are friendly and the ambiance is inviting. The food is hot and delicious. Literally the best menudo I have ever had, so authentic! Also, HOMEMADE tortillas! I hope more people are able to check this gem out.

We found a hidden gem. First time having really good authentic Mexican food on the central coast. Lady who works here is wonderful and kind. Very affordable menu. We've been back a few times now and this will Be our go to from now on for Mexican food.

Love the asada, it was tender and flavorful. Hot sauce was great too. Just missing some pico and a little more cheese!

Our server was kind and helpful, but our food was bland and dry, regardless of the sauce. The churros were good.

I was able to park in a handicapped place a couple of storefronts down. I was greeted with a "just one?", which as a single diner always gets my hackles up, do better!! The folks were friendly, it was pretty crowded. I considered the Eggs Benedict but was disappointed to see that the Hollandaise was "creole" flavored. I ended up ordering a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, potatoes, english muffin. Can't go wrong with that, right? I ordered my eggs "broken over-hard" but they came out over-hard. I order this way to have the yolk spread out into the white. The english muffin was grilled, so not hard on the outside, but it was still good. The eggs were rubbery. The potatoes were a bit too spicy, I needed ketchup to eat them. Bacon was OK. Thin napkins, needed more. Plate was chipped. Had to use the restroom before leaving, it is now a gender neutral bathroom and Burt Reynolds is still presented in all his glory!! I must have a totally different sense of humor. Won't be back here, nothing on their menu appeals to me. Sorry.

If you've been following along on the journey, you know I was trying to keep this trip cheap. At least I was. Now, I'm just trying to salvage it with one last attempt at a reasonably priced restaurant. I suggested 2 places that didn't look too bad, one of which was The Hungry Fisherman. For whatever reason, my wife wasn't interested in either. A third option was a place at the end of Embarcadero that we first went to during covid. My thing was, we have a dog and I don't want to eat outside. It's cold and one place only seats people with pets outside. But since we've been there and my wife was mistaking it for another, she wanted to go there anyways. I guess we will leave the dog in the car? Idk. I come inside and we are looking at 30+ min. What if we take it to go? 20 min. What if we call it in? 20 min. Apparently, if you want to make a to-go order, you have to wait for the 2 servers to find the time to take your order in between waiting their tables. But I'm ranting about another restaurant that we didn't even stay at. But that's how we ended up here. I feel like when I parked, others were arriving at the same time, so I rushed in and grabbed a table. The sign says seat yourself, so we got the largest table there. It seated 8 and while I waited for my family to come in, I was hoping I didn't look odd sitting there by myself. Fortunately my family came quick and we got started. Looking at everything, the menu isn't expansive, but there were a lot of good looking options. I was split between the chicken fried steak and the chile verde burrito. I'm a little picky about my chile verde since it can either be too spicy or bland. Morro Bay isn't known for its Mexican population as far as I can tell, and I've been seriously disappointed in chile verde when it isn't cooked by natives. But since there is a page dedicated just to Mexican food, and the waitresses are off Latin descent, I give the chile verde burrito a go. Especially after I ask our waitress for her opinion. I'm glad I did because it exceeded all expectations. The avocado, the salsa, sour cream, it all just worked so well together. I got about 3/4 of the way with it and my daughter finished the rest. She also agreed it was good. My wife got the French toast, which was a bad idea. Not because it wasn't good, she loved it. But because bread makes her sugar spike, and the consequences came strong less than an hour later. To give you perspective, the tortilla on a burrito makes it spike. She knows what it does to her but she does it anyways. No fault of the restaurant. This one was on her. It must have been worth it because she finished her leftovers after her sugar crashed soon after. Everyone else loved their food as well. One thing I wasn't aware of is that they serve cinnamon coffee. When I got my first refill, she asked if I wanted cinnamon. You can be excused for not knowing since I don't even see coffee on the menu, let alone cinnamon. I must have had at least 3 cups in the less than 40 min we were there. Looking around the inside, it's very nice inside. It's not ritzy by any means, but I did enjoy looking around inside. We also discovered a now binge-worthy show to watch that was playing behind us-Worse Cooks In America. I hooked that out was on so patrons would appreciate the good food in front of them. Also on the way out, looking inside the cooking area -all Mexicans. So it makes sense that the food was so authentic. Like I said, we will be back. Morro is our weekend vacation spot, so that's a promise

I ordered my soda to be delivered with my meal so I got my refill while I was still eating. Not much ice, had to move more from my water. Also soda a bit flat (might be because it is Pepso?) Fries were great, hot and crispy. I salted them myself and ate with Ranch. The burger was warm but a bit thinner than I have had here before. The bun was nice.
