The views are perfect! You can't get much better than this. Service was good. My only complaint is that that Everything Bagel description was not accurate. I was told (after receiving my order, and only after I inquired) that they no longer have micro greens. (That's partially what sold me on this bagel!) I wish the wait staff would have told me when I ordered. I also didn't expect it to be a deconstructed bagel. I don't mind that so much, but it should be clearer in the description. We visited Blue Sky for lunch on a sunny day. Both of us enjoyed a bowl of New England clam chowder. The chowder was topped with croutons, creamy and full of small clam pieces. We also each enjoyed a glass of white wine that paired really well with the soup. As always, I want to start with the good things - as a solo diner sometimes it's hard to get a table I like or want to sit at in this case they seated me at a perfect table. I was outside with a view of the water and had an umbrella for shade. It was perfect. They did let me know when I arrived that their fryer was broken so they didn't have normal beach options like fish and chips or fries but luckily I was there for a late brunch and they offer breakfast items until 2 PM. One of the highlights was the service I did receive from the hostess not only did she see me she brought me my water and coffee. She brought me two types of creamer when I didn't communicate what I wanted in the right way (I blame needing the coffee lol but she was so patient!). She also checked on me, refilled my coffee and went to get my waiter when I was ready for the check as far as I'm concerned the waiter only brought me my food and then the check afterwards when I was done and the hostess grabbed him. So I didn't really have a waiter but more of a food runner. To be honest though the biggest issue was the food. I ordered a seafood Benedict. However, the English muffin wasn't made properly so it got soggy very quickly. I don't believe it was even toasted. The shrimp and crab were generous portions big plus. Unfortunately the kitchen didn't give those proteins any love. The entire eggs Benedict dish needed salt and seasoning of every kind and the seafood needed lemon and dressing to bring it to life. The hollandaise sauce was just so bland and the country potatoes weren't fried enough so the skins were just chewy and inedible. I ended up just picking out the seafood and eating it directly. Also the poached eggs were perfectly done not too runny or overdone big plus. Overall between the mixed service and the meh food I'm giving this 5 stars. I'm hopeful their lunch options are better (when the fryer is working) and will go back to give them another shot at dinner - the views are definitely worth it if the food is better. read more

We are a family of six, and we came for an early dinner. We ate outside on the patio. We shared cups of clam chowder, salsa, guacamole and chips, and a shrimp cocktail as appetizers. The shrimp cocktail consisted of the smallest baby shrimp I've ever seen. It was a mixture of baby shrimp, bits of celery mixed in cocktail sauce. I wouldn't order again. The soup was good as was our other appetizer. We all ordered a different main course which we each didn't like. The waiter was very nice. It cost me $350 for the view. read more

Avoid. 1 server for a restaurant of this size seems a bit low. We didn't get much of a greeting, more of a scowl and a signal that our business wasn't really welcomed from the beginning. The entire vibe was off. After waiting 10 minutes for a table in a mostly empty restaurant we were seated and continued to wait for another 15-20 minutes with no order taken or response from staff. I can't speak about the food here because we never got a chance to order it. We just left and went to a neighboring business with much better service and ambiance. If the service staff is overwhelmed and unhappy it doesn't inspire confidence in the kitchen. Stopped off here for a little something to snack on and a drink. It was still early so place wasn't that busy yet. Location is great as it's right along the waterfront with the view of the marina and water. As well as the main attraction, the morro bay rock. We didn't have a full meal just the clam chowder in sourdough bowl. Which was quite nice. Perfect for a little chilly day. Drink wise, wanted the Bloody Mary but they didn't have vodka. So it was made differently but was ok. There's not a full bar hence substituting the vodka. Overall, location was amazing. Nice for an afternoon drink enjoying the view. I like this cafe the best on the Embarcadero for both its food, & ambiance. Located right on the water you can eat outside or inside. Our server, Wenona got everything just right. I liked her menu suggestions too. Today I had ham steak & eggs with fresh fruit, toast & potatoes. This is this only cafe in Morro Bay that serves breakfast up to 2pm. My wife and I were pleasantly surprised! We happened to walk in on this place and decided it. My wife is pretty picky and I didn't see anything that would appeal to her. We waited a little longer for service than I thought we would, as it wasn't to busy. However, Omar ended up being a very polite and professional waiter. I am glad we stayed as she ended up with the chicken quesadilla, which ended up being huge and very well presented. I had the BLTA which was also well presented and you can tell right away when the bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado were spread evenly around the toasted bread. We are going back to Morrow Bay today and may stop there again for lunch. Has a nice patio with a view of the bay and the famous Rock. One of my favorite places for breakfast in Morro Bay. Sit outside for a great view of the Rock, or glance casually from sitting indoors among several big TVs. Wherever you're seated, the food is good. The Rock is a massive meal of three scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheese, onions & bell peppers, with a choice of ham, bacon, or sausage topped with salsa, guacamole & sour cream. It's served with toast or warm tortillas (Add black beans or frijoles if you like). Hearty and very tasty. Last time there, I had the Country Benedict (Poached eggs, sausage patties & country gravy on homemade buttermilk biscuits), This powerful plate also comes with good fresh fruit and roasted potatoes. I'm a fan, as they got all the important pieces right: perfectly poached eggs, flavorful sausage (gravy on the side for me works best for me), and flaky, buttery substantial biscuits). This dish is especially a nice way to alternate from all the great seafood to be had in Morro Bay. I think I prefer sitting outside (yes, there are heat lamps). The location has a great view of the water. The restaurant has an odd layout and unclear of where to wait to be seated, but we eventually found the host stand at another entrance. We were there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged and when the server came out with a tray of food for a table she looked at someone else in line with disgust for not understanding where she was going with her tray. No greeting, just frustration being spewed at us for wanting to eat there. The place needs to be redone, and needs better management. Great service!! The views are amazing and the food even better!! Our burgers meat were perfectly cooked. I got the Paso Bbq Burger and the Cali Burger. Both were very flavorful. Clam chowder was good too. It was a cold day so I ordered myself coffee. Parking is very tight but luckily was able to get a spot. I visited this restaurant for breakfast on 8/10/24. I've always vacationed in Morro Bay with my family and couldn't wait to show my boyfriend around. This review is on one specific experience - not the food. My boyfriend and I arrived around 9:45 am and it was very cold. The restaurant door was left open for air circulation, I assume, which is fine. I have Lupus and Raynaud's Syndrome, and I get cold easily and lose sensation in my hands and feet quickly, which causes extreme pain. Due to this, my boyfriend asked the hostess if we could move tables two times to get away from the door. I didn't think we needed to justify moving tables if they were open and we asked permission, but an older waitress with tattooed arms yelled to the hostess loudly across the restaurant "No more moving tables!" My boyfriend went up to her and explained I have a medical condition, and she responded "oh no you're good." It absolutely did not feel like that. It felt targeted and it was embarrassing to me for her to yell at us like that in front of the entire restaurant. And if she didn't want us to move tables, there was a much more tactful way to speak to us privately about it. These are new diagnoses for me and I am still learning what I can and cannot tolerate in terms of temperatures so it's a curve. This experience felt shaming, and I don't want to have to ever experience this again in my life, nor should anybody else. Our waiter, a young man (I wish I got his name) he was very kind and apologized to us on her behalf for our experience. He shouldn't have had to do that, she should have apologized. My goal with this review is to let the owners know about my experience and to have a conversation with this waitress about professionalism and appropriate communication to guests. read more

Came here around 8:30 am on a Sunday morning. There were only a few tables taken and we got to choose our seats. We sat outside on the edge of the marina, with a view of the marina and bay! We ended up ordering the Hot Pastrami with a cup of lobster bisque, country Benedict, and a bowl of the clam chowder. It came out pretty quickly and piping hot in the chilly morning. The sandwich was super cheesy and hearty. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were so flavorful but I did end up adding some black pepper to enhance. But the taste of the clams and the lobster were very clear and present. The country Benedict sausage gravy was some of the best I've ever had! The eggs were cooked perfectly. The potatoes were delicious dipped in the gravy. I appreciated the fresh pieces of fruit too! It was a little pricey but soooo delicious! While staying at the nearby 456 Embarcadero Inn in Morro Bay, we came here for breakfast (that motel doesn't serve breakfast). This place came recommended by folks at the Embarcadero Inn. Alright food but super slow service. Not even morning rush hour. Oh well, luckily we weren't in a rush. Attentive though (somewhat) once they finally noticed us! The clam chowder soup in a bread bowl is gigantic and delicious. You can eat the sourdough "bowl" as well afterwards. Full breakfast with two eggs is nice enough though quite simple for the price (just a few pieces of fruits). Would have preferred a real fruit salad. The lobster bisque (supposedly a repeat "People's Choice Award") was a huge disappointment. It had zero lobster flavor - it was like eating a bowl of cream with some croutons on top. To top it off, it was barely lukewarm. When the waiter came to clear my mostly full bowl, I told him he needed to tell the kitchen about the cold soup. His response: "Okay."
