Our server was the sweetest lady ever and really elevated the whole experience. Oysters: The absolute star of the show. They were incredibly fresh and tasty. Clam Chowder: As a huge chowder fan, this was easily one of my favorite dishes. It was perfectly creamy and loaded with texture. You could really taste the savory bacon bits throughout the whole thing! Corn Salad: So delish! I loved the sweet burst of corn mixed into the salad. Poke Nachos: The tuna itself was delicious and noticeably fresh, but the dish as a whole was a bit too greasy for my liking. It seemed like the chips weren't fully drained from the fryer, leaving them holding onto too much oil. Local Petrale Sole: This dish was just okay. The wait was only 5 min to be seated, but the wait to be waited on was about 15 min, than another 20 min to 30 min for our food, thank goodness our waiter was very nice and apologetic to us for everything. The clam chowder soup and bread bowl was so delicious! I couldn't even eat the bread bowl, it really fills you up. I had a bite of my son's hamburger, and for the price and taste I was very disappointed. I wouldn't recommend the burger to anyone. The ambience was nice, the employees were all very nice as well. One word. Yum, I wanted Steak and Lobster and I got it! We were seated immediately. I ordered a Long Island, my vacation drink, and the steak and lobster plate. It was ok. I ordered the half dozen oysters and these were great, especially with the horseradish sauce. Also the bistro fries were good, but very oily towards the end. I got the cioppino since it offered so many different seafoods. It was super light and needed a bit more salt. There was plenty of calamari in it, loved the lobster tail as well. A pleasant surprise, with a few caveats. The Dutchie in Morro Bay ended up being better than we expected. Cool space, good service, and genuinely great views to go with it. The standouts were the dishes that leaned on freshness. The rockfish ceviche was excellent, and the tataki was really great as well, both clearly built around quality, fresh seafood. Where the menu dipped was on items that seemed like they were working from frozen rather than fresh product. The shrimp croquettes in particular fell flat compared to everything else we ordered. We had a fantastic dining experience at The Duchie! To begin the restaurant itself is in such a cool location being right on the bay the ambiance is incredible. Our server Tyler was attentive knowledgeable and extremely helpful, he was able to give me suggestions about both the Tomato Burrata salad and help me pick out the steak I wanted. I ended up ordering the Hanger steak with a side of lobster. The steak was perfectly cooked and the lobster was delicious and buttery. We finished off our meal with the Basque Cheese Cake which was the cherry on top of a fantastic meal!! Of course, our server Tyler was the one to suggest it for us. Dutchie was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The seafood is excellent, especially the specials of the day -- every recommendation was spot-on. I had the sea bass with a crab cake, mushrooms, and spinach, and it was absolutely delicious and perfectly prepared. Definitely see the hype with the clam chowder bowls--it was absolutely stuffed and filled to the brim (and spilling over) with a healthy amount of clams, potatoes, and other goodies. I thought the cod was decent but lacked a bit of flavor. Fish and chips were good and I liked that there wasn't an excessive amount of batter. I liked the onion rings as well! Our waitress came to the table without greeting us and immediately asked what we wanted to drink and eat. The interaction felt rushed, as though we were inconveniencing her rather than being welcomed as guests. The kids' chicken strips were okay, but the fruit that came with their meals was clearly not fresh. It looked and tasted past its prime, which was disappointing, especially for a children's meal. By the time the kids had finished eating, our meals finally arrived. The cod was overcooked and under-seasoned, while the rice was hard, tasting as if it had been reheated multiple times. The salmon was dry and lacked any real flavor. The only thing I could really taste was the cream sauce, which resembled plain cream and unsalted butter with little to no seasoning. To make matters worse, the restaurant itself felt warm and had a musty smell, which made the dining experience even less enjoyable. Overall, between the poor service, disappointing food quality, and uncomfortable atmosphere, I would not recommend dining here. There are many better places to eat in Morro Bay. read more

Had little shrimps floating in the middle. Couldn't finish! Salad was very large, couldn't finish!! Fresh. Also didn't finish the Chicken club which had avocado and bacon!! We ordered some oysters a bowl of clam chowder and a Dutchie bowl. The clam chowder was really good but not great. The local oysters were delicious a nice taste of the sea. Nice in size. The bowl was made with ahi tuna and was delicious. The rice was a bit too clumped up though. The fish stole the show. A very nice stop that will be repeated.
