One of my fav spots in MB. Good beer that rotates so there's always something new to try, the food is great, and they're dog friendly on the patio. Let me repeat that...THEY ARE DOG FRIENDLY. Obviously the dog needs to be well-behaved, and you'll need to sit on the patio (which is the best view anyways), but they are truly a dog friendly establishment. They even have a pup menu item (cooked hotdog) which my dog loves. Leta talk about the food... Chicago dog: delicious, and the best dog on the menu (see pic!). Bahn Mi dog: if you like a Bahn Mi, then you'll like this hot dog. It has the pickled radish, mayo, jalapeño and carrots just like the sandwich. Elote cup: get it dirty (hot Cheetos) Pretzel/pretzel bites: classic brewery snack with warm cheese and/or stone ground mustard. The staff is super great. Friendly, knowledgeable about what's on tap, and makes a point to know the regulars. They have little signs with "rules" for making sure everyone has an enjoyable experience - which I appreciate. It's very rare that I come back to a place more than once when I'm only visiting an area. But this place deserves it! Both servers each day were friendly. I couldn't remember the girl's name from the first night. But Sam the next day was just as awesome. There's indoor and outdoor seating. The place was packed on a Thursday afternoon between friends, dogs, and kids. They have a good selection of beers they brew and also guest taps. Pretzel bites were good and the amount of cheese for the dip was sufficient. I especially like that they topped it with green onions. Something small but makes all the difference. Nice little brewery. Feels like a local place. Little outdoor patio, where you can hear the sounds of the marina. Great views of the rock, couldn't see the stacks from the brewery though. They had some signs about previously being an aquarium, not sure if these were jokes or actually true. The beer wall, needs better description on it, it just said like stout for example but what kind of stout. The physical menu only had the food on it. The restrooms have a lock. Stopped by here on a Thursday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Plenty of seating inside and outside. The outside has nice views of the big rock. The beer options were great and tasty. The service was incredible. The bartender was the best. A bird pooped in my drink and he replaced my beer and helped me clean the table. The rock hot dog had a nice kick. The cheese and toppings came together for a nice fusion. The hot dog itself was cooked really well. Overall for the price point it was a good hotdog. The Cuban was good as well. We are sort of "semi locals" to Morro Bay - we're here a couple weeks each month. We visit "our place" Three Stacks and a Rock Brewing several times when we're in Morro Bay. We were regulars at the old location but this new location (the old Morro Bay Aquarium) on the Embarcadero is amazing! There's plenty of room to sit inside and out on the pet-friendly patio overlooking the bay and Morro Rock. We love every single member of the staff. They are fun and friendly and know their beers! Our favorites are the Norm (named after, you guessed it, NORM!) and Marine Layer (get it when you can - it's popular!) They always have guest beers, ciders, wine, and non alcoholic drinks available too. Their food is great! Small bites and gourmet hot dogs - yummmy! Have been coming here for years even when it was at the old location. Owners are awesome! Love their beers! Food is decent. Wish they had a smaller bites menu but all good. Love the fact they kept some of the nostalgia of the old aquarium in the place. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. If you are hungry, you can choose from appetizers and hotdogs. He even carries other beers , ciders, and wine. If you haven't been here, definitely make it a stop on your next visit!! read more

This review is only for the customer service -- or lack thereof. We have supported this brewery since before they were located on Front Street in Morro Bay, years ago. We thought it would be nice to visit them again while we're in town. We have a 1.5-year-old. The place indicated it was kid-friendly, which most breweries nowadays are. We found a spot inside with a booth (as opposed to metal chairs). Our daughter was standing on the booth. We tried to have her sit down, but as a toddler, she doesn't always comply with directions. The beer tender came over and told my husband that she couldn't stand on the booth. My husband asked if it would be okay for her to stand there without shoes, and the beer tender responded with a rude, snarky comment -- something along the lines of, "The furniture isn't meant to be stood on." Well, we immediately left. It was one of the rudest encounters we've had with an establishment regarding children. They should probably reconsider advertising themselves as kid-friendly -- clearly, they're not, based on responses like that. Either they don't have children and don't understand that toddlers don't always follow instructions, or they should make it an adults-only establishment. Just be aware if you plan to visit with young kids -- and hope their attitude isn't so nasty when a toddler does inevitable toddler things. We're not the type of parents who let our kid run around unattended or disrupt others, as we know people are there to enjoy themselves too. However, the response we received was completely uncalled for. We won't be supporting this brewery anymore and will be passing that sentiment along to family and friends on the Central Coast. read more

If I could give this place a No Star I would!!! Me and a friend visited the brewery . I ordered drinks and tipped twice. Then one lady came up and snatched the tip jar from right in front of me. Trying craft beer in new locations is a must when traveling to new places. I've been here about 5 time, and this is my #1 place to visit when I come to Morro. I mean, the view of the rock is outstanding. I get SUPER excited walking in the doors here. Once I even walked around the block a few times until they opened (I don't have a problem). The employees are friendly to everyone including tourists. Me, I'm the tourist. I haven't had the joy of eating their food yet, but their beers do not disappoint. If you're lucky, every table on the patio will have an adorable pup that you can admire. We can't wait to come back to 3 stacks. They also have a really cool piece in their main room with stickers from breweries all over. 10/10!!!! read more

I enjoyed our experience here. Service was great, beer was fantastic, food was good. Would I come here just for the food, no. But we all enjoyed the food. As a vegetarian, I was happy to see an option to sub for a veggie dog. However I opted for some apps instead. I would love to see an option to "elevate" the cheese dip, to be served with pretzel bites or something, as the chips were eh. Indoor seating in limited, so be aware if you are check them out during some wet weather. Outdoors was wet, but they dried off the chairs pretty quickly every time it stopped raining. read more
