    Baja Tacos 6/20/26
    Mike Z.

This is kind of our go to place in the area. Tacos are rock solid. Portions are generous. Prices like high until you see what you get. First time there ordered a couple of tacos and thought crap, that was a fortune. Then the plates showed up...good enough to split for each taco. Now my wife and I split the Baja tacos. And we leave fat and happy! The burrito is the size of a nerf football. Again, enough to split, or take home since burritos travel. And I can't forget the carrot cake. Again, seems pricy, it isn't. The portion is huge and filled with flavor. Service is always great and the place is always clean. Need to stop it would be a DDD star. IYKYK

When by the ocean, all I want is fish. This place has delish fish tacos. Got the local snapper taco. Large portion, love the pile o salad it comes with. Hubs got taco plate with carne asada, chile verde, and carnitas. Carnitas was hands down the best. Missed out on the carrot cake that's the size of your head...we forgot to order and when we went back it was sold out! Next time. Loved that we had indoor or outdoor seating options. Service was efficient.

Huge portions. All "tacos" are a variation-on-a-theme with one's selected protein on two flour tortillas, topped over shredded cabbage, carrots, lettuce and radishes, with a few slices of cucumber. Today, we ordered their Scallop Taco which had a good portion of pan-seared scallops. The Taco was good, but expensive. The price point of most items can be a bit steep here. We also had a Chile Verde Burrito, which was huge. However it wasn't all that great, as the components were mostly black beans, a few grains of rice, and very little flavorless pork. At eighteen dollars, it was disappointing. One better like black beans over the regular pinto beans most Mexican eateries serve. Upon entering the restaurant, there's a front counter to place orders and receive a complementary large bowl of chips and red salsa. The salsa is very flavorful and contains chunks of tomatoes. One then chooses their preferred seating area and the order is brought to you when ready. There is interior seating as well as two patio dining areas. The interior is very plain and simple as their focus seems to be on the food although presentation is quite lacking. Friendly staff. Taco Temple can get very busy during the dinner hour, on weekends & special event dates - plan accordingly.

We've been away from the central coast for almost 7 months but were able to get in a short visit this week. Like all our other visits, a stop at Taco Bell Temple was definitely in order and as usual, the place did not disappoint. My shrimp taco was generously filled with shrimp and my wife's halibut taco was delicious. Both meals satisfied our Taco Temple itch!!! It's nice knowing the restaurant is thriving and the food is utterly amazing.

I absolutely LOVE this place. They have great food, amazing prices, and a beautiful view. Their grilled and crispy fish tacos are fantastic. The tacos normally come with salad that has this amazing dressing. My friend got a burrito and it was huge and he said it was SO good! I always visit this place when I come into the SLO area. Service is exceptional too!

Taco Temple is a great stop for Mexican food when in Morro Bay. There is an excellent view of Morro Bay rock with both indoor and outdoor seating. We were recommended to go here by a local and it did not disappoint. You order at the counter and sit wherever you like and they will bring the food out to you. My sister and I go the street tacos and we were able to choose 3 different meats for our 3 different tacos and it came with guacamole, rice and beans. We split the plate which was a great decision because it was a ton of food and we were both stuffed. There were also chips for the table which tasted so fresh and they were super thin and perfectly crispy just how I like them. The time from when we ordered to getting our food was very fast. Overall a great experience and I would come back.

Second time here and the food, salsa, and service were just a great as the first. Portions are really big, the food is fresh and delicious, and their chips and salsa are amazing. Staff are super friendly. Overall great dining experience and really good food.

This is our go to place every time we are in MB. We ate here 3 days in a row this visit. When we have friends with us, we always bring them here. As well as share this restaurant with anyone I hear mentioning headed to MB The food is consistently fabulous, everyone working here is friendly, and the restaurant is clean Wish they had some heat lamps outside. It was pretty cold there this last visit- so we had to eat inside We normally love to sit outside Plenty of parking

    Now that's a burrito!!!

Food was delicious, service was excellent. Definitely will return. Next time fish tacos. Or chicharones.

Alaskan cod tacos ( I should order that for myself :)

If you enjoy fried, flavorful food and generous portions, this is definitely your kind of place. The setting is casual with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the service was fast and efficient. I ordered the calamari tacos, and the portion was huge. The plate came loaded -- tacos with melted cheese, a fresh salad, and a side of unique "spaghetti-style" fries. The calamari itself was lightly breaded and very tasty, and I really enjoyed the salad (super fresh and flavorful). The fries weren't my favorite, though, and overall the portion was so big that I ended up leaving quite a bit -- which felt a bit wasteful. My husband had the Alaskan cod tacos, and I actually loved that they were not breaded -- that's my personal preference. The fish tasted fresh, light, and really well prepared. Our daughter ordered the kids chicken taco, and honestly, it was excellent -- loaded with chicken, very flavorful, and clearly made fresh. We also tried the tres leches cake. The slice was large but for me it was a bit too sweet, especially with the caramel on top and the thick whipped cream layer. I know there are many variations of tres leches, and this one just wasn't my favorite. We also had a crab cake -- fried on the outside, soft and delicious inside. Overall, a solid spot with big portions, fast service, and lots of flavor. Just come hungry!

    Salmon Taco Bowl Salad

Came in 20 minutes before closing, everyone was really kind, welcoming, and helpful. Coming from Southern California, the food was delicious, and one of the best Salmon salads I've ever had. Looking forward to returning!

Sweet potato enchiladas which came with that entire other plate!

Absolutely worth a visit. Huge portions! While it's super casual the staff is very helpful bringing chips and serving water and dropping off food that it's almost full service. The salad that comes with the entrees (like one fish taco) was huge and delicious. Friendly service! When in Morro Bay come here! We probably over ordered but now we know. It was a chance to try many items.

Taco Temple BEST FOOD IN MORRO!!

Taco Temple: Most amazing lunch ever! Having been stooping here for years every time I'm in town, heading up the coast. I ordered a blacked fish taco which comes with salad on top. Sooooo delicious. One taco is plenty enough. The shrimp cocktail is full of shrimp and chunks of avacado. Super generous portions. Totally worth it. I don't want to eat anywhere else. The food at Taco Temple is my FAVORITE IN MORRO!!!! Pretty much order-at-the-counter type place . Not much service- maybe cause we ate on the patio. But the food is bomb.

On a quick day trip on a Friday afternoon, we decided to give this place a try. No reservation and were promptly greeted and seated. Although we did not have a full bay view, we had a partial bay view. Some hits and misses with food and service. 1. Bowl of Clam Chowder (no bread bowls available). Chowder was piping hot and had nice pieces of clams (dad got a bit of clam shell..so be careful), celery and potatoes. The chowder was very creamy and not grainy or watery like other locations. I would definitely order again 5/5 2. Fish & Chips: Fresh Pacific cod, lightly breaded, served with house-made tartar sauce. Fish was fried to perfection. 5/5 3. Seafood Pasta: Linguini with jumbo prawns, fresh catch, Cajun cream sauce, garlic bread. Everything tasted fresh and seasoned perfectly 5/5 4. Side of Garlic bread: extremely disappointing. We ordered garlic bread with our chowder, it never came. Waitress decided to serve it with the mains (fish and chips) and we ordered for the entire table and she only brought 2 pieces. 5. Insalata Molina: Mixed greens, arugula, pear, walnuts, crumbled blue cheese, mango vinaigrette. Couldn't tell you if this was any good bc the waitress NEVER brought but charged us for it. She then takes it off the bill and brings me the salad in a Styrofoam container. I told her I didn't want it and put it in my bag. Salad was so soggy (which means the kitchen prepared it and the waitress forgot to serve it) I would not order and do not recommend ordering it bc it was the size of a side salad definitely not worth the price point. 6. Mocktail Lavender lemonade: definitely not balanced, was pretty tart and again the price point was off. It was about 8oz lemonade for $12 They do offer a nice selection of wines. Restrooms are located outside the restaurant and are public restrooms, pretty dirty and out of stock. Although our service was a big miss, I do recommend the food items we ordered. I did take a star off due to the service.

When we entered the dog-friendly patio with our little Goldendoodle, Bailey, a large dog seated at the table closest to the only patio entrance lunged toward her and bared its teeth. Since it was the only way in and out, I let the staff know I was concerned. They immediately spoke with the owners, who moved their dogs farther under the table, and after our meal, the owner's father went above and beyond by opening the rope barriers so we could exit another way and avoid walking past them again. Both the father and son were incredibly kind, understanding, and accommodating, which we really appreciated. Once we were settled, we were able to enjoy the beautiful patio. It's a quaint waterfront spot with gorgeous views, a relaxing atmosphere, and the perfect setting to enjoy fresh seafood. Bailey was promptly brought a complimentary bowl of water, and we loved seeing so many other well-behaved dogs enjoying the patio. It's easy to see why this restaurant has such a great reputation for being dog friendly. We ordered the King Salmon Quesadilla special, and it was absolutely delicious. It was packed with generous portions of fresh salmon, plenty of melted cheese, and vegetables, and it was more than enough for my mom and me to share. My brother also really enjoyed the tri-tip sandwich. Everything tasted fresh and was served hot. Unfortunately, each visit has felt a little less impressive than the one before it, and this most recent experience was disappointing enough that I probably would not return. Parking is usually easy, and I have never had to walk more than a couple of minutes. There are also a couple of EV spaces nearby. When my girlfriend and I walked inside, the restaurant felt unusually warm, humid, and stuffy. It was uncomfortable enough that we briefly considered leaving. We chose outdoor seating instead, but that comes with its own drawbacks. The tables are exposed to the afternoon sun, pedestrians walk just feet away, vehicles pass close by, and the working dock is nearby, so you hear forklifts, unloading equipment, and active fishing operations throughout the meal. We started with the Oysters Rockefeller, which I have ordered on all three visits. They were good and are honestly one of the main reasons I have continued returning. They are not easy to find where I live, and this version is enjoyable, even if it is not on the level of what I have had in places like New Orleans. My girlfriend ordered the clam chowder with bacon. We have been comparing clam chowders around the Central Coast, and unfortunately this one ranked last among the several we have tried so far. She described it as average and nothing memorable. I ordered the steamer clams, and this was easily the biggest disappointment. The very first clam I ate had noticeable grit in it, and unfortunately that continued through most of the bowl. I would estimate that the majority of the clams had some amount of sand or grit, which made them unpleasant to eat. I also found one clam that remained completely closed after cooking. I left it untouched. At a restaurant specializing in seafood, I expected more careful preparation and inspection. The broth was also surprisingly bland. I ended up adding hot sauce just to give it more flavor. As I worked through the broth, I also noticed three small hairs. I cannot say where they came from, but finding multiple hairs in the same dish was understandably concerning and further reduced my appetite. The service did not help. Our server took our order, delivered drinks and food, and eventually brought the check, but there was very little interaction between those points. No one checked whether we needed anything or asked how the food was going. That was especially frustrating because if someone had checked in, I would have had an opportunity to mention the problems with the clams while I was eating them. Overall, the Oysters Rockefeller were still good, but almost everything else about this visit was disappointing: the uncomfortable indoor environment, noisy outdoor seating, average chowder, gritty clams, bland broth, cleanliness concerns, and minimal service. I have enjoyed this restaurant more in the past, but after this experience, I think there are other places around Morro Bay where I would rather spend my money.
