I love Nautical Bean and will return again in the future, but this trip was not a hit. I started my meal with my favorite drink from this shop, a Shot in the Dark. This is a chai tea with a shot of espresso and nobody does it like Nautical Bean! The staff are always very friendly, helpful and patient. They are never pushing no matter how undecided you are. And they are happy to make recommendations if you ask. I appreciate that all the portions are regular sized and nothing is so large that it's intimidating. All the food is well-made and the ingredients are fresh. There is outside seating at this location and no indoor seating. After your order is taken you are given a number and you can take that to your table. However, drinks are usually served at a pass out bar next to the cashier so don't forget to check for those drinks while you're waiting for your food. The mess on this trip was that I had ordered the avocado toast, which has tomatoes. The tomatoes were definitely not very ripe and I would've preferred that the staff let me know this instead of serving the avocado toast with subpar tomatoes. I would've just gone without the tomatoes. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheddar, and these were very rubbery and sort of gray in part. I ended up throwing the eggs away. While this experience wasn't the best, I will say that every other time I've eaten at this location it has been wonderful. I think this must've been an off day but like to be honest in my reviews. However, I will come back in the future and review this location again.

Nice local coffee cafe. Good drinks, breakfast sandwiches, pastries. Very kool decor inside. Fills the time while you wait for your order. Most of the employees are cheerful and nice . Did run across one staff that seemed grumpy.. I get it it's early he's a kid! Won't hold it against him. Of course busy on weekends from 8-10,, other than that usually pretty quick service. We always go there when in Los oso.. while we stay at baywood inn. Who's is a very nice hotel , gives vouchers for the nautical bean while staying there.

We just had some specialty coffee today. The cool thing about this little coffee spot is the location and the decor. Inside they have a really fun collection of old lunchboxes from the 60s-80s generation. I personally love nostalgic touches like this. The skate decks and famous memorabilia is super fun! Outside you have an awesome walk around the bay and several places to sit and enjoy the views. The service people are super nice and we got our drinks very quick even with a pretty large number of people around. We stayed for a bit talking about the lunchbox memories.

Seen at the Bean... and also the scene at the Bean.

Got the morning off? Head down to the Baywood bay and relax at the Nautical Bean. They have on or off street parking, good fresh brews of coffee, and a breakfast burrito I enjoy dumping their fresh salsa on. The kid loves to take the puppers here and grab some grub, pastries, an almond milk chai tea, and eat on the patio and "chill". (they're dog-friendly with treats and water dishes for the canine kids)

This is one of the coolest coffee shops I have been to. Absolutely loved the vibe, millenial core to the max with pop art and plastic lunch boxes on the walls, it's awesome. I got the mint chip latté. It had just a subtle mint chocolate flavor and it was rich and delicious. I also got the pumpkin muffin because I love pumpkin and it was just alright, the flavor can be improved but the texture was moist and fluffy, I will try another flavor next time. I love the location, right next to the water, and they had plenty of outside seating to enjoy the view with your food and drink. Parking could be challenging, as far as i could tell it's just street parking unless you are staying at the hotel next door or across the street. Either way, I will be back, next time I want to try their breakfast food because passing by it looked pretty good. They also have a really good setup with creamers and sweeteners if you just want a black coffee.

Nautical Bean is a local chain, but this one is right at the water, and just 350 feet from Marea Art Studio. Worth a detour

Yummy coffee and kind people. The menu has some confusing things so: Matte = green tea (caffeinated) You can put cold foam on everything! It's like whipped cream topping but less sweet/creamy. Chocolate butterscotch is not hot chocolate, it's coffee.

    Mom's Eggs with yummy salsa

When you ask for your Mom's Eggs without bacon, they add extra avocado. The Shot in The Dark (chai tea with expresso) is a delicious boost. The bayside atmosphere is pleasant but as always in Los Osos, bring a jacket in case the Pacific Ocean sends the fog in.

What really made it stand out was how easy the whole experience was. We called in the order ahead of time, walked over from the state park, and everything was ready for pickup without any hassle. Super efficient and perfect for a camping trip setup when you don't want to deal with a long wait or sit-down meal. The hostess was also incredibly friendly, which made the whole interaction feel welcoming from the start. Big bonus that they're dog friendly too--always appreciated when traveling with a pup. After grabbing food, we explored the nearby trails around the bay, which honestly made the whole experience even better. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Morro Bay.

Pairs great with the sourdough, although it does help to have another dish break up the flavor since it can feel one dimensional after a while. - Fish Lunch - Grilled Swordfish topped with Mango Salsa with fries and California Chowder (3.5/5): Having never tried swordfish I knew I had to try this. The cut of fish was smaller than expected and would have been pretty fishy without the mango salsa and lemon to cut through the flavors. Fries were perfectly done and were crispy without being greasy. The chowder was spicier than expected but I really enjoyed it. Overall I'm glad I tried this dish but it's pretty expensive for what you get and I would still have been hungry without some of my gf's chowder. Overall (4/5): We had just finished kayaking and since Bayside Cafe was conveniently at the same location it was a no brainer. We waited about 15-20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon before getting seated by the window which offered an amazing view of the water. Service was quick and friendly. I was able to park in a handicapped place a couple of storefronts down. I was greeted with a "just one?", which as a single diner always gets my hackles up, do better!! The folks were friendly, it was pretty crowded. I considered the Eggs Benedict but was disappointed to see that the Hollandaise was "creole" flavored. I ended up ordering a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, potatoes, english muffin. Can't go wrong with that, right? I ordered my eggs "broken over-hard" but they came out over-hard. I order this way to have the yolk spread out into the white. The english muffin was grilled, so not hard on the outside, but it was still good. The eggs were rubbery. The potatoes were a bit too spicy, I needed ketchup to eat them. Bacon was OK. Thin napkins, needed more. Plate was chipped. Had to use the restroom before leaving, it is now a gender neutral bathroom and Burt Reynolds is still presented in all his glory!! I must have a totally different sense of humor. Won't be back here, nothing on their menu appeals to me. Sorry.
