    Belgian waffle

My daughter had the Belgian waffle, which she said was absolutely delicious. I had the vegetarian omelet which was also delicious! A dollop of garlic herb goat cheese on the top which leveled up the taste factor by ten. The service was great; quick and friendly. We sat outside on their patio which was delightful on a June Sunday. Will be going back tomorrow!

Stopped by Celia's Garden Café for breakfast during our weekend trip and it was a nice, low-key local spot to start the day. It's located in Los Osos with its own parking lot and a cute garden area for outdoor seating -- very homey and peaceful atmosphere. The staff were super friendly and attentive, coming by often to refill water and coffee, which I really appreciated. We ordered the breakfast burrito, egg benedicts, and blintzes. The portions were pretty generous and everything tasted fresh. The fresh-squeezed orange juice was especially good -- definitely worth ordering if you come by. Overall, the food was solid and satisfying, though I'd say it's more of a classic American breakfast spot rather than anything particularly unique or standout. Still, a great option if you're looking for a relaxed local café with good service and a cozy outdoor setting.

I have eaten at Celia's on and off for several years and the food is comforting and tasty. There is indoor or outdoor seating and the patio is dog friendly. On this recent visit for breakfast, we were seated at a comfy little table by a side door during the breakfast. I'm not certain if this was the reason, but our service was not as attentive as it could have been. Our are server was friendly, but I had to get up and go to the front counter to request items several times. We ordered the waffle and corned beef hash and eggs. Both were very good. The waffle was served with fresh berries and the corned beef hash was their own creation. All in all, Celia's is a cute little spot with good food. It's worth a stop.

What an improvement! We live in Los Osos and hadn't been going here as it used to be a bastion of mediocrity with silly prices. With the new ownership the food has gotten a much-needed overhaul. The menu still has some of the old favorites (like blintzes). The dishes we ordered today were a huge improvement. The Simple Greens salad $10 (add chicken $4) was a fresh and plentiful mix of salad greens, carrot, cucumber, and ripe grape tomatoes. The chicken was sliced, grilled skinless chicken breast that could use more flavor and a little less grill time. The herb vinaigrette was delicious and very cilantro-forward. Garlicky cheese toast was yummy. The corned beef hash ($18) was the star! A bit non traditional - in an awesome way- it was pulled corned beef that was perfectly seasoned and juicy, mixed with roasted, chopped new potatoes and onions. Eggs over medium were fresh and well cooked. The sourdough English muffin was also a star, made in a local SLO bakery. Great drip coffee ($3.65 with refills) from SLO Roasted in Los Osos. Server service was the basics and our busser was a champion. Garden looked well kept and saw they are doing an arts & music event there on Friday and Saturday evenings. Way to go, new owners! We're so glad you're here!

    THANK YOU

Celia's has changed ownership. Their staff is always friendly and the pleasant atmosphere remains. The menu has changed and has been diminished a bit. For example, there were seven Benedict selections, and now just four; soda is served by the can, so no refills. The portions seemed to have been downsized as well, as today's our Crab Cake Benedict were smaller than before, along with a minute amount of Hollandaise sauce. Cottage cheese was chosen in lieu of potatoes for fewer carbs. I received an extremely small amount in a small ramekin cup. Although we were seated promptly as usual, it took some time to receive menus and to order. Our table was a bit sticky and had drink rings -- we were offered a wet cloth to clean it ourselves.

If I can, I go to breakfast at Celia's after I get a hair cut. I love their breakfast, coffee and the best wheat toast. Today, as usual I had a scramble with chicken sausage, mushrooms and snow peas, a great combination. My husband had the chili verde and potatoes. Usually I share the potatoes but I ate everything and was too full. I opted for fruit instead of potatoes. Coffee is great and they have raw sugar, which I prefer. The servers are nice and friendly, some have been there for quite a few years. They had some great looking cookies, maybe next time, I'll get a couple. Sometimes when it's crowded you have to park on the street. They have a nice patio for eating, both front and back as well as inside. Bathrooms are outside and there are two of them.

Half Cinnamon Swirl French Toast (front) and Patty Melt or Tuna Melt (back)
    Francie M.

A hearty lunch spot on the patio! My friends favorite dish is the tuna melt, which arrives on delicious fresh marbled rye (with the perfect hint of caraway), caramelized onions, and moist tuna salad. I had a hard time choosing from the extensive menu (sweet or savory?) when I spotted a "lighter fare" menu that offered a half portion of the French toast with two slices of bacon. The "half portion" mean two thick slices cut into four triangles which was plenty of food, along with the protein bacon. The bread base of the French toast was a strong cinnamon swirl bread which enfused the resulting eggy concoction with flavor! Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - small parking lot in pack and plenty of street parking available to the side - vegetarian options

    Cheeseburger & fries

Have driven by this restaurant forever, finally decided it was time to try it out. Ordered a cheeseburger and subbed romaine instead of spring mix. Would have ordered a side salad but they only had spring mix option. Came with fries. Sodas only came in cans, so opted for water to drink. Burger nice and medium rare, yummy. Fries, however, were too seasoned and peppery and soft. The water was in a tiny glass and they were so slow to refill. I finally had to get up and fill my own water!! They only gave me one napkin until I took a couple more on my own. I noticed that they hadn't tidied up the creamer bowl, still trash from previous guest. I chose to sit on the LOVR garden because it was too sunny in the back garden. Lovely setting, though. The server never came back until she gave me the bill. Good burger but not worth the rest of the negatives. Won't be back, sorry.

Memorial Day weekend on the Central Coast is always a negotiation with chaos. Tourists flood the…read morebeaches, traffic crawls through Pismo, and every scenic overlook suddenly becomes a photoshoot for people who discovered the central coast three days ago. So my girlfriend and I did what locals do this afternoon: we tried to escape the madness and disappear into Los osos for a few hours. Not that there's any "sneaking into" High Street Deli. That line is eternal. It exists outside the laws of time and tourism. Rain or shine, weekday or holiday weekend, there will always be a crowd gathered outside chasing the same thing: the perfect sandwich on the perfect California afternoon. And honestly? They're right. Nothing beats a High Street sando on a sunny day. You grab a Dutch Punch and a cold Cali Squeeze and suddenly everything slows down. The sandwich arrives absurdly overstuffed with layers of turkey, extra bacon, jalapeño havarti, onion, tomato, avocado, chipotle mayo, Dutch crunch bread that's barely surviving the structural pressure holding the whole masterpiece together. It's messy in the way all truly great food is messy. No pretension. No carefully curated "elevated deli experience." Just pure Central Coast comfort engineered for people who spent the morning surfing, hiking Montana de Oro, or sitting in beach traffic questioning their life choices. And the Cali Squeeze? Citrus beer sweating in the afternoon heat while ocean air drifts through Los Osos. That's the high locals chase all summer long. What hurts is admitting publicly how good this place really is. Every local wants to protect High Street like a secret fishing spot. You want visitors to enjoy the coast, just maybe somewhere else first. But denying High Street its flowers would feel dishonest. Because this place is the heartbeat of the Central Coast in summertime. The patio fills with surfers, old locals in sun-faded hats, Cal Poly kids, dogs asleep under picnic tables, couples lingering over beers because nobody here is ever truly in a hurry. Somebody's talking about swell conditions. Somebody else is debating whether to head to Morro Bay after lunch. The smell of sandwiches, sunscreen, and salt air hangs over everything. It's not glamorous. It's better than glamorous. It's real. And somewhere between the first bite of a Dutch Punch and the first sip of a Cali Squeeze, you remember why people who grow up on the Central Coast never fully leave even when they move away. Because they spend the rest of their lives trying to recreate afternoons like this.

Problem...the stores have different items. I had chosen a sandwich that wasn't offered here. We filled out our order forms. I recreated that sandwich to the best of my ability. It had turkey and veggies and cranberry on Dutch crunch bread. We also ordered a Dutch Punch sandwich and a build your own chicken cutlet sandwich. We got two orders and fries, an order of onion rings and 3 fountain drinks. The food arrived at different times as the order was ready. All the food was good. The sandwiches were good sized with lots of filling. The fries were great. The onion rings were the star. They were light and crispy and we all loved them. Parking is not easy in this area. It took a few circles to find a spot. We got a table right away. There was a kitchen-like play area for the kids. That kept them busy while we waited 20-30 minutes for food. Cute shop. They had stickers and baked goods and gifty items. Woman at the counter was a little impatient with customers. One surprise was the total price. Three sandwiches, three drinks, two fries and an order of onion rings plus tip was almost $97. Never had such an expensive sandwich in my life!

I purchased the pain au levain, in lieu of a baguette, for $12. The price is pretty steep for a loaf, but seems to be the going rate for these smaller boutique bake shops. The bread itself was warm when I purchased it, which was awesome. Enjoyed it with my coffee, but did find it to be a little doughy on the inside. Good flavor, but not something I would come back for. I'd rate it a solid 3.5. I also purchased the chocolate chip cookies. I think I completely went brain dead when I bought these, because I did read they were gluten-free and vegan, but still bought the pack of 6. Man, they looked like chocolate chip cookies, but didn't taste like chocolate to me, at all. For a regular chocolate chip cookie lover, it's a 1 star. For someone looking for a gluten-free and vegan cookie, this could be a winner. Maybe.

Being from Seattle, I'm nothing but used to the rain. But this little visit to the bakery warmed my heart. As we drove to the bakery we stopped at Morro Rock, , so I could actually see the amazing 23 million year old monolith. So fun to see the surfers out there! As we started driving into a neighborhood to get to the basket, I was like, "What? Am I going to Gramma's house?" And then, we pull into the freaking cutest little beach house with a garden that made the bleakest day make you feel like sunshine and rainbows. Upon entry, the baked spices and smells blow your olfactories! Yummm! We felt the young lady was very overwhelmed with all the baking!! And maybe our dumbfoundedness was overwhelming. Or maybe I was overwhelmed with so many amazing options and goodies!! She had just pulled something out of the oven. We ordered lemon curd and raspberry tarts, brownies, curry croissants, ham and cheese croissant, french onion soup croissant and some other cookie that someone snuck in on the sly. Sadly, there was no seating there, so we had to take everything to go. Luckily we were only 10 min away. Everything was epically delicious. Especially the flaky curry croissants!!!! They really know how to do it!!! If we had more time we would try their bread. I can't imagine what this place is like when it's peak season but it must be crazy! It is a must visit!!!
