Pork Chops & Eggs
Terry C.

Stopped in for breakfast and Carla's Country Kitchen did not disappoint in serving up a hearty and plentiful meal. I ordered their Pork Chops & Eggs. This selection comes with two meaty, good-sized pork chops, two eggs cooked to one's liking, a nice portion of hashbrowns or country potatoes, and toast or their house-made biscuits - a very hearty meal. The quality of the porkchops was superb, the fresh-daily baked biscuits were served warm and oh-so-good! Everything was very good. We also chose their Seafood Omelette, a huge portion served with one's choice of potatoes and toast or biscuit. The omelette was filled with crab, shrimp and cheese, and topped with a tad more cheese. It was well prepared. One suggestion - instead of the smaller bay shrimp, more flavor would pop with diced larger shrimp. Service was friendly and efficient. Everyone worked together as a team, and it shows.

Pork chops and eggs was a delicious choice!

Stopped in at 10:30 for breakfast on a Saturday morning king and was able to get a table without any wait. Service was prompt and friendly. Loved my pork chop and eggs with hashbrowns. Asked for the hashbrown extra crispy and they nailed it! Pork chop came out hot, juicy despite the thin cut. Well seasoned dish, especially the hashbrowns. French toast with strawberries were the special and my daughter liked them as well.

Breakfast Special: Cowboy scrambled eggs, cheese & ham over biscuits & smothered with country gravy & cottage potatoes.

Dog friendly, best place to come for breakfast (in my opinion) . They also serve lunch too (after 11pm) but if you're coming for lunch keep in mind that they close at 1:30pm every day. The place is always busy but getting seated is aways prompt. They make the best homemade biscuits and gravy here and serve a variety homemade muffins to choose from that you can get with your breakfast. They also always have yummy daily specials too so be sure to ask your server about those as well.

Fast service- we were sat down pretty quickly. We ordered their seafood Benedict and waffle breakfast! Classic waffle breakfast- good waffle, really nice and simple. I enjoyed this one. Seafood Benedict was generous in the amount of seafood, nicely cooked shrimp - really happy about this as well! All in all great experience- would come by again

Spinach, Mushroom & Cream Cheese Omelette

It has been several years since the last time I stopped in, being the food was bad on my last visit. So, decided to stop in over the weekend hoping it was better! Sadly, definitely was not... Don't even know where to start... I will say the service was friendly as always, but that's where it ended. I got the Spinach, Mushroom & cream cheese omelette, subbed the potatoes with fruit. The omelette was horrible, fruit was what it is (definitely didn't taste remotely fresh) & the biscuits were good. Water for tea tasted like it just came out of the ocean. It's unfortunate! Been coming here for many, many years & not sure what happened. This is the place that got me stuck on spinach & mushroom omelettes. No, I did not "complain" about my food. I simply ate it & was on my way. All in all: Friendly staff, semi cozy, where it ends.

Dad and I leaving from a very filling breakfast. See you again tomorrow

Mouthwatering food, EVERY TIME! Anything on the menu and every time you will have a fabulous meal served by amazing humans such as Ms. Sienna who was my delightful waitress who was just great energy and kindness! Sue made sure my coffee was topped off and almost had to get a wheelbarrow to take me back to my car....Geesh! I did it again and ate too much! I ordered the two pork chops with two eggs over medium crispy, crunchy country fried potatoes with the biscuits and gravy and a black coffee. Of course, the green Cholula. I'm drooling right now and so sad I'm almost 4 hours away, but totally look forward to coming back in a couple months for another amazing dining experience with employees like Sienna and cooks in the back turning out that kind of delicious food. Mr. Vido and I will gladly be back and continue spending our money there! Thank you Sienna and fantastic cooks

My go to breakfast wasn't a consideration today after a walk to the Rock. It's been a few years and I thought it was time to review some of the "other" breakfast spots in town. As fate would have it I was seated at the same table as I was the last time I was here. M ordered a Popeye Omelet, I went Western but we subbed fruit for the potatoes and we both swapped our toast for the house-made biscuits. (Parker House) Then I ordered a side of gravy to give the biscuits and gravy a try. The service was fast and as busy as they were our food was out fast too. That usually means its hot outta the kitchen "big points". So lets dig in and have a taste, these were big omelets "piled high" with real ham not a mainly water heavy ham. Green peppers and onions plenty. Omelets no question these are very good both were very good. The fruit was tired, the color was gone from the melon, orange segment were pretty torn up, you get the idea. Gravy and biscuits well actually Gravy and rolls. I was not impressed with the gravy all the looks were there but wheres the flavor, I didn't taste it. Since we're talking taste the coffee was black hot water...uck. And last comment is a Yelp question "How Noisy"- Very noisy, open room, tile floor and lots of customers. Nevertheless I enjoyed my company today and after eating we milled about the infamous Karlas gift shop. Some interesting things but I have a strong aversion to things living in my house that need dusting. See ya around town. Foodguy-Martin

This place was recommended by our hotel. Nice staff. Fast service. Biscuits are homemade and really good. I did corned beef hash and country potatoes, while my wife did their tortilla scramble special. Both meals were good. Poached eggs were fully cooked and not runny, which wasn't great. Wife was happy with her meal, but would pick differently next time.

Pooney scramble, "hashbrowns" "Toast"

THIS WAS THE MOST DISGUSTING SOGGY BREAKFAST i HAVE EVER HAD I called in at 6:28am how can the first order in be this terrible are they that bad at cooking here? Do they not care, or was it just laziness? I paid too much money for this jailhouse SLOP ordered the Pooney scramble, described as "3 cheeses with mushroom and sausage" - Holy S**t They put some FUNKY CREAM CHEESE in the scramble WTF! AND the toast was SOGGY THE HASHBROWNS WERE SOGGY! - see photo

This place made my whole family so happy. The service is friendly and down to earth, the seating option to eat outside while being bathed in the warm sun, and the grub was legit. We all were craving a big breakfast and Carla's delivered. Just look at my photos- you'll almost be able to taste it all yourself. If you love big, soul warming breakfasts, this is the spot. Highly recommended.

Just getting the time to share... We visited in November of 2024. Absolutely divine. See photos. The gravy was incredible, exactly how I like it. It didn't have that tacky floury taste that most do. If I could eat at this restaurant every day, I would! Very friendly service, there was staff cleaning without rushing, fantastic waitress helped us, and the little shop in the back was also staffed and well/stocked with fun items. We made a purchase there too. Will be back any time we are near!

I was able to park in a handicapped place a couple of storefronts down. I was greeted with a "just one?", which as a single diner always gets my hackles up, do better!! The folks were friendly, it was pretty crowded. I considered the Eggs Benedict but was disappointed to see that the Hollandaise was "creole" flavored. I ended up ordering a basic breakfast: eggs, bacon, potatoes, english muffin. Can't go wrong with that, right? I ordered my eggs "broken over-hard" but they came out over-hard. I order this way to have the yolk spread out into the white. The english muffin was grilled, so not hard on the outside, but it was still good. The eggs were rubbery. The potatoes were a bit too spicy, I needed ketchup to eat them. Bacon was OK. Thin napkins, needed more. Plate was chipped. Had to use the restroom before leaving, it is now a gender neutral bathroom and Burt Reynolds is still presented in all his glory!! I must have a totally different sense of humor. Won't be back here, nothing on their menu appeals to me. Sorry.
