    Tacos Mexicanos
    Simran S.

Had a great time at the restaurant with a party of 6. Complimentary chips and salsa were delicious. The salsa in particular had the perfect amount of spice that the whole family could enjoy. I ordered the Los Mexicanos tacos which came with beans and rice on a large hot plate. Everything was enjoyable, and the server checked on us frequently. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

    Shrimp burrito

To start of, the salsa and chips were okay. Not the greatest salsa. The tacos, the shrimp itself very well seasoned, but the tortilla itself not great. Overall the taco plate a 3/5. The bay burrito, the filling lacked flavor it would be a 2/5. Customer service was standard, nothing bad to say about that.

Loved this place! Surprised there isn't many reviews on it or photos. I worked and needed some authentic Mexican cuisine and this placed met my need. I had the steak picado which was accompanied by rice, beans and tortillas. Everything was excellent with the exception of the rice which was tolerable. It's okay no one makes good rice. The steak picado had zero fat. Beans had a healthy amount of cheese and the tortillas homemade. My wife had the shredded beef taco and she said the flavor was great. The enchilada was good too. It seemed more like the old El Paso sauce instead of the normal red chilis sauce we are accustomed to but she said she would get it again. This is worth stopping for. Try them out!

Our server was super sweet and helpful. I tried the mole chicken Enchiladas. It was like eating them in someone's home. Delicious and cravable! I will definitely be back!

First let's start with the salsa and chips. The salsa tastes like canned diced tomatoes with water added then add a few sprinkles of cilantro no flavor what's so ever and the chips were stale and overcooked I ordered the Los Cabo's Tostada with chili verde that I could not eat I took two bites and sent it back. The meat was cold besides lacking flavor. I will not go back usually I will try again just hoping it was a bad day but no not again. Guess I should be happy I got 15% off inedible food, lucky for me I had chicken noodle soup and and homemade biscuit at home

    tortilla soup, yum.

The Bayside Cafe did not exist until over 20 years after we graduated. A Cal Poly grad opened it in the state park in the mid-1980s and we regularly visit when in the area. An excellent place for lunch or dinner. If you stay in Morro Bay, this is an easy drive for you. Dinner is less crowded than lunch. By the way, clean bathrooms are outside the restaurant in a separate building. Parking is all along the water front...no problem. A very nice and surprisingly varied menu is all yours. Dinner menu has more seafood and upscale dishes than the lunch offerings. Both are great. Wife had the sandwich and their green chili soup 1/2 & 1/2 ($13 + $2.50). Really good and different. They have this chile soup mixed with chowder which is, to me, even more excellent. My lunch was shrimp enchiladas ($23). Service is great. We had Julia and she know everything about the menus, so just ask. A very nice place to visit frequently. Look at my rater profile and you will see that I rarely give 5-star ratings. Bayside Cafe rates it.

Friends from San Jose were in Paso Robles for a weekend in July so we all decided to cool off by meeting in Morro Bay for the day. We chose the Bayside Cafe for lunch since we had a good experience at lunch back in 2022. Ratings..... - Overall: 4 - Location: 4 - Exterior: 3 - Ambiance: 4 - Menu: 4 - Food Quality: 4 - Food Portion: 5 - Service: 5 - Price and Value: 5 - Parking: 4 - Bathroom: 3 Pros: - Location: Away from the crowds. The Bayside Cafe is in a marina 1-2 miles south of the popular street of shops along the shoreline in Morro Bay. - Menu: Large. Something for almost everyone with a slight emphasis on seafood. Lots of choices for the non-fish foodie. - Exterior: Ramshackle, but in an okay way. There's a good size patio and indoor seating. - Ambiance: Very casual. Jeans...shorts...polo shirts and sneakers. Dogs are welcome on the patio. - Food: A very good version of "diner food". I had the Veggie Sandwich ($17) with avocado, carrots, cucumber, lettuce, tomato and sprouts with cheddar and jack cheese, mayo and mustard on sourdough bread. It came with a big bunch of good sized fries. My wife had a Half Sandwich of turkey and avocado ($14) on a french roll with a side salad. She said it was fine. Our friends each had a sandwich - both came with side orders of either fries or a salad - and seemed to be happy. - Service: Excellent. Our server - a young guy Named Hamilton - was a nice combination of friendly and knowledgeable with a good sense of when to drop by the table. - Price and Value: Reasonable portions of tasty food at a fair price. - Parking: No problem. There's a long parking lot along the marina. - Bathroom: Interesting. There's nothing in the Bayside Cafe, but you've got access to 4 bathrooms in 2 small buildings behind the restaurant which are shared with boaters and kayakers. The Bayside Cafe sits in a picturesque setting serving good food without the crowds closer to town. However, it is popular and a 15-30 minute wait is likely during the summer months.

AMBIANCE: the decor was nice. We actually got a table with a view of Morro rock, but it was half covered with fog. There's also outside seating that have space heaters and umbrellas. FOOD: the seafood omelette was topped with one shrimp and filled with 75% mushrooms and bits of crab and a little more shrimp my wife ordered scrambled eggs, but with the option of three pancakes instead of potatoes, however we did notice a textural difference in the eggs. I'm not sure whether they use liquid eggs substitutes because they were a bit runny but we thought they were very thin not thick and fluffy, but they did taste OK the coffee was good. The tea. My wife ordered was just luke warm so she asked for another pot and it was still not hot. NOTE: the Embarcadero and front Street has become extremely overcrowded on the weekends and that stands true with Pismo and Avila and Cayucos. i'm glad we were able to enjoy these places before they got this way.

The good: Amazing location, great staff, beautiful scenery, good soaps and products in the rooms…read more The bad: Building is a little bit dated, the rooms don't have AC, but the ceiling fan does the job. Small bathroom, and spotty WiFi. If you're looking for something off the beaten path in a quiet yet beautiful spot and you're willing to tough it out just a little, this is a good place to stay.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. I have stayed at cheaper hotels and received better…read moreservice etc. Also, at least at the "cheap" hotels you absolutely know what you are going to get. Here you are sold a wolf ticket and being told you are going to see the best show on earth. Upon arrival to the room I noticed water on the floor which was not a result of mopping due to the fact that the floor felt sticky. The floor was also filthy. One walk across left the bottom of my feet dirty. In the bathroom there was scratched off paint as if someone or something was fighting for their life to get out of the bathroom. There was also dirty hand prints on the wall of the bathroom that had no place to set toiletries or clothing. There was also no bar soap and the coffee had not been refilled. We were staying for 4 nights and there were only two coffees. One of the biggest issues was the lock was broken on the door, as if someone had forced their way in or tried to force their way out. Very unsafe for a ground level room, especially considering plenty of addicts seem to stay here and party all night. The room also had no proper ventilation, no ceiling fan, and an old box fan that had paint all over it. The fan barely did anything and even at 55 degrees outside the room remained HOT. I also had to crawl on the floor behind nightstand to find somewhere to plug it in. Even with all this and more there was push back about switching rooms because they supposedly never do that on the weekend when a room is unsafe? They said they had to clean the new room and I had to missed a family event to wait for new room to be cleaned and moved into (no help offered). Then that room was slightly better but the floor was still filthy and the soap in the bathroom was just set in the caddy after epoxy they attached it with failed. I had to get my own socks dirty so that my feet would say clean. The beds are way too soft and you have to sleep in the center to feel like you aren't going to fall off. The water pressure is non existent. The customer service was spotty. Pet fee not explained well at all but that was all my fault according to person who explained that they HIGHLIGHTED the information. Very young people who work there who are made to put up with all the BS owners and management make them deal with. How are they to know? It's too bad, it is a wonderful location. I hope they can update someday so that it might be worth what they charge and match what they advertise. This was my one vacation this year. It was no less than awful. Aside from putting us in a safer room, the staff did nothing for us. Up to $275 a night for what? So disappointing. Update: They ended up giving us a night+ refund for our troubles. While most certainly appreciated, I feel like it was the smallest band-aid on the biggest cut. Update 2: they replied saying that lock was operational. When you put safety lock over door you could still open the door. So NO, not operational. And they said that maintenance said it worked. Nope the nice maintenance worker did NOT say that. So on top of everything else, they are now lying.
