Awesome experience at Taco Station! Our first night in Riverside, we met our son there because he wanted us to experience authentic Mexican cuisine. The place was packed but they were totally prepared for that. The line moved fast with everybody getting their food in under ten minutes. We were a little overwhelmed with our choices when a nice lady joined us in line and walked us through the options, made suggestions, and even let me know which items were gluten-free (lots!). We loved everything we ate and I especially loved the authentic horchata which I haven't had since I was in Mexico. Needed a quick bite before my drive home and found the Taco Station. The racing theme is hokey -- especially for a taco joint -- but they had some old gas pumps inside plus other collectibles. I'm assuming the owner is a massive car enthusiast. They called their sides "accessories." The service was extremely pleasant and the whole process was quick. I went with the mild salsa and it was hotter than I'd expected, but it was tasty. The burrito was good, but nothing special. The carne asada is so finely chopped that it's hard to tell the ratio of meat to fillers. A hair under $10 seemed reasonable. I'd eat here again in a heartbeat, but it's not so good that I'd go out of my way to go back. A solid 4 stars. read more

This is a riverside staple and will always have a special place in my heart. This place even has misters on during the hot summer months which is a serious lifesaver in SoCal heat. Just a heads up, they are contracting right now so the normal bathrooms aren't available but they do have portable restrooms if you can hang lol Now onto the food... I came here with my boyfriend and I was originally not hungry but after seeing him eat a carne asada sope, I had to order 2! Also I never tried their alcoholic drinks but I ordered one margarita, I was SET for the rest of the night. If you're hungry you need to stop by, if you're hot you need to stop by, and even if you're not hungry, you need to stop by! I was invited to tag along with my 2 daughters and their friends for food and drinks. We went to this wonderful place, Taco Station in the Riv next to that other popular Tex Mex food spot. I've driven by this place for years but never stopped. The girls go quite often. I ordered the "Ziggy Fries" and a Corona at the suggestion of one of my daughters. The food was very affordable and quite tasty! The spot was clean and the lighting was perfect. We sat on the patio even though it was raining. They had heaters out there, that made it cozy. The service was friendly and very helpful. The restroom was clean and easy to locate. We went during the day which made it family friendly. I was told that the full bar does attract a hungry crowd for drinks and food. I left my group there and they took in the night time fun. I would definitely recommend that you give "Taco Station" the opportunity satisfy both your hunger for Tex Mex food and/or just to wet your whistle. read more

Their 3 taco combo plate came with rice, refried beans and choice of meat fillings for the tacos. The food was delicious and well seasoned. The outside patio had ample seating, even considering a busy Saturday night crowd. There are vintage signs, full bar and TVs. Hedges outside patio are pruned in the shape of cars as the patio has a car theme going on. Food was so tasty, I returned for brunch the following Monday. This time I opted for only two tacos as their portions are ample. I will surely visit again when in downtown Riverside, CA. read more

My partner and I wandered here after my usual place was closed for Easter. It wasn't amazing, it was just okay. I was a little disappointed after hearing so many great reviews of this place. I ordered 3 tacos, the shredded beef was decent, but the chicken was completely flavorless, however the beans and rice were pretty good. The atmosphere was pretty cool though, definitely would think about coming back just for the relaxed patio outside.
