First time here at Taco Love in the University Pointe. The inside was very festive with alot of colorful murals and Day of the Dead skulls. Purchased a steak burrito that they press on the grill to slightly warm the tortilla. Priced about $16.50 which was a bit high I thought, but then this behemoth burrito was presented and then was ok with the price. Very pleased with the super dense burrito with lots of flavor. Loved the Taco Love logo char seal on the burrito which was a little touch that goes a long way. The wooden seat swings were a cool thinking out of the box idea just very uncomfortable. This is another spot that my husband saw on IG. We happened to be driving home and were passing it. I pointed it out to him to show him where it was. He quickly made a U-turn to go there. Upon entering, we saw the cute and colorful decorations. There are 2 tables with benches that slightly swing. They're chained at the bottom so that you can't go crazy and swing like you would if you were in a park. You order at a kiosk or if you are technologically challenged, one of the staff will come around and help you place your order. You can select from Tacos, Burritos, Bowls or Quesadillas. The Tacos come in an order of 3, either all the same or the 3 Taco Combo which allows you to order 3 different types of tacos. We did the Taco Combo and selected the Birria which comes with pickled onions and also ordered 2 Ground Beef. The Birria with the pickled onions was delicious! My husband kept saying how good the Ground Beef Tacos were and scarfed them down. We also ordered a side of Chips & Pico. The Chips didn't have any salt but were still good. Wow! I heard about this place from a guy I met at a bar at the Miami Open. Random I know! I said I would drop in and kept my promise. The place is super cute with swings for seats. I love the fact that I can quickly place my order on one of their touchscreens because I don't feel rushed to make a decision with someone waiting on me. The inside of the restaurant is nicely decorated but what really sets them apart from other restaurants I've visited are the swinging benches available at 3 of their tables. It's just so cool! They also have high top and traditional low top seating available as well. My fiance often orders their birria tacos but I'm a sucker for Al pastor tacos and a nice crisp Jupina. The only downside to Taco Love is their parking situation. To put it simply, it sucks. There's maybe 8 spots out front that are shared between two other restaurants (the gym next door isn't open yet - so once they open parking will be worse). If you're not lucky enough to snag a spot out front, you'll have to park in the garage behind the building which appears to be shared with the apartments above. read more

After I drove in circles trying to find a way to park close to the restaurant, I gave up and walked along the plaza. I arrived shortly after they opened in the morning so it was not buys at all which was great because I took a long time standing at the kiosk screen trying to figure out what I wanted. The menu is not very expansive but there are still options to customize the order. I started by ordering Chips and Salsa which was pretty good. Salsa was fresh not fresh made and the chips were flour not corn, and crispy fried. The taco trio was okay but the juices from the meat and toppings made the little corn tortillas fall apart mid way through the eating process. I also customized a Chicken Barbacoa bowl with no fried shell. Everything was pretty tasty and I liked that there were two choices of Cholula sauce to add some heat to the meal. I really wanted some good food, specifically beans with spicy sauce. I had heard mixed reviews about this place but decided to check it out for myself. I ended up ordering the steak bowl online. There were choices of other meats or veggie, which was simply no protein. They had a bunch of different dressings but you could only choose one. I really wanted pico and avocado ranch so I picked one and paid extra for the other. It also came with lettuce, cheese, rice, beans and pickled jalapeños. I was no more than five minutes away and when I got there my order was ready! It was super fast service and I was glad about it because I was hungry. The restaurant was a good size with indoor seating. Ordering and pickup were on opposite ends of the long counter. They gave me napkins, but I got my own utensils from a dispenser on the counter. I wasn't there too long but it seemed clean and not too loud. The bowl was a decent size and my guess is because I ordered it to go, the dressing and pico were in to go containers and the meat was wrapped in foil, I was happily surprised at how much meat I received. My only minor gripe was that the avocado ranch only tasted like ranch, and had a chemical aftertaste. It just wasn't good but the rest of the meal was really good. I feel bad that a fish had to die to be served saltless, overcooked and with too much breading. My husband ordered the mahi, cauliflower and jackfruit tacos. He said the cauliflower was the standout (maybe that's what I liked last time!) but that nothing was very good. We also ordered the yucca fries. They were also saltless. There is no salt on the tables either, so we couldn't easily add salt to our liking. If you do go and you wonder whether you have to pay extra for toppings when ordering via the kiosk, you don't. My tacos of choice were one Korean Fried Chicken Taco and two Pork Belly Tacos. I really loved how crunchy the chicken in the Korean Chicken Taco was and the sauce as well as the smoky bacon flavor. But for me the Pork Belly Tacos are what really hit. The pork belly tasted amazing it had a nice pickled slaw on it and the flavor was outstanding! I felt so happy and full after I ate those tacos. I am not a huge fan of kiosk ordering but maybe I'm just old fashioned. The food is excellent and so are the options.
