This is a good Taco spot. I decided for my birthday I wanted to try a new place for Taco Tuesday. Their 3 for 2 deal made it an easy selection. I got 4 differing tacos to pick-up. When I came into the store the cashier was very welcoming and made sure that my order was properly done before sealing the bag. Another one bites the dust first off I will start this off by saying I am Mexican born and raised in Los Angeles, therefore I'm VERY critical of Mexican food in So. Florida. First I will start with the aguas frescas. I ordered an horchata. It was $4.99 and was served in a tiny child size cup. When I tasted it, I noticed it wasn't even homemade. We then noticed they used KLASS powder mix to make their "aguas frescas" so completely overpriced and not even homemade. Second I will touch on the tacos. We ordered birria tacos. They asked if I wanted corn or flour tortillas. This is when I knew I was doomed for bad tacos because tacos are NOT made with flour tortillas. ‍ once we got our tacos they were 3 very small tacos and they were not served with cilantro or onion. We were in the area and found Chilacos Tacos, located just 5 minutes away from Sawgrass Mills mall. There are many different menu options to choose from including appetizers, tacos, burritos, quesadillas and even a taco bowl. We ordered steak tacos (listed as one of the favorites), quesabirria, spicy margarita and the limonada de mango biche. The drinks were good but the food was okay. The quesabirria was better than the tacos, but the birria sauce just looked and tasted like oily water. The steak tacos are a favorite, but was unfortunately not mine. The steak was chewy and you weren't able to taste the truffle chimichurri. The tacos were also filled with oil. We gave it the benefit of the doubt and thought it may be some sort of sauce but confirmed that it was indeed oil when it started dripping out of the taco. We placed paper napkins on the tray and it absorbed the oil but there was still a lot in the tacos. I didn't notice it at first when I took the picture, but you are able to see the oil in the tacos and the tray...there was a lot! Nice option for tacos and burritos in Plantation near the Sawgrass Mall! You can order at the counter and they will bring the food out to your table along with some delicious sauces for your meal. We ordered a Elote corn which came in a cup and can be shared by two people. We ordered the shrimp tacos along with the chicken on corn tortillas. They have seating, indoor and outdoor. 2026. 4 years later, I made the mistake of returning to this restaurant. The tacos were sad, bland, and not very tasty. Dare I say, the meat did not seem to be fresh cooked (possibly reheated), and there's was barely any cilantro and onions on top. I enjoy spicy food and I specifically asked if any sauces were spicy, and was told the red sauce would be. They gave me 3 different kinds of sauces. None of the sauces really were spicy enough, and they didn't have much good flavor either and were very tiny sauce portion sizes. To summarize: In 2022 I said in my review that I wouldn't come back, but against my better judgment, I returned, and I was disappointed once again. I don't recommend this place. I've been a lot of taco places opening up and this one did not disappoint. They have a deal 10 tacos for $35 and you can select up to three different types. We selected Birra & carnitas. They were very good and on authentic corn tortilla which I prefer to flower and is more authentic. The service was good and also we had guacamole and chips which were both fresh and delicious. They had Mexican Coke available and we were so full we could not get the churro but that will be on the next visit. This place was really nice. Once you come in it's very colorful. The food options was good. We had the nachos, steak burrito and the kids burrito. I think with the nachos and the kids burrito should have been fine since it is a lot of food. **Semi-Vegetarian Friendly** I was really excited for this place because they had a dedicated vegetarian menu! If you're vegetarian, you know how rare that is in South Florida!! We ordered six tacos. Four shrimp and two avocado. Rather than put all four shrimp in the same container and keep the vegetarian tacos separate, they put two shrimp tacos and two avocado tacos in the same container and then put the other two shrimp tacos in a different container. We also ordered chips and guacamole, and they forgot to include that in our bag. When I called to advise them of the oversight, I was given two options. Came here cuz I was craving tacos. It was Taco Tuesday so there were deals for the tacos. Immediately, the service was not good. We were next in line and we were ordering and at the end of the order as we were deciding if we wanted to add dessert then or after we ate, the guy asked the people behind us to come forward and order. After they were done, he proceeded with us which was rude. I didn't give it as much mind at the time but then when we were about to pay, we noticed that the prices of the tacos were not the right prices. I mentioned it and he denied it until I pointed at the menu and told him what it said, then he changed the price to its taco Tuesday price. He should know the prices of the tacos. This small, but cozy taco spot is a new favorite! The decor inside is cute and well kept. I'd say there's about 8 tables inside and another two outside. We came on a Tuesday and were anticipating a crowd due to the other positive reviews but were pleasantly surprised with the quiet turn out. Our food came out piping hot and boy was it yummy. I ordered the 3 carnitas tacos with pineapple and decided on a side of street corn halfway through. The chips and guacamole were ok, too many onions and tomato's on top for my taste but my boyfriend enjoyed. The churros are small as shown but tasty nonetheless. This place used to be my favorite! But recently I have noticed that the serving sizes are being reduced. Prices just don't seem to justify the meal anymore. Also, I was recently there and wondered if they could offer a side of half rice and other half beans (since their side of beans is so huge) and although the price is the same for these two items they wouldn't allow it. These kinds of rigid rules on sides are a major turn off for me. Especially since they are essentially selling the items at the exact price. Half a scoop of beans and half a scoop of rice. Same portion size, same price, but NOPE they do not do it. Seems stingy and riding and not what customers expect these days. I'm sorry I know it's such a small detail but it was a turn off and I just had to walk out. The tacos are small, but they are loaded with delicious meats and fresh toppings. I ordered 1 Lengua Taco and 1 Pollo Loco Taco, both served on a soft corn tortilla. It came with a spicy orange sauce and a green tomatillo sauce on the side, which mixed together, gave a little kick to each bite. The menu is not very big, but there is a good variety of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, rice, and bean bowls as well as a kids menu. The place has roughly 5-7 indoor tables. Cute decor. Service was friendly but not helpful when it came to the menu. I ordered the chicken burrito to-go. It's a good size burrito. Also if it makes a difference to anyone the menu says Monterrey cheese it's actually a mix of Monterrey & cheddar. I wanted to add jalapeño however they don't have them. The salsa they bring to the table is very good, at least there was a spicy one. When I go again I'll try the carne asada tacos. They play nice music it's a good spot to go with friends.
