This new La Rural Mexican Grill just exploded onto my foodie radar. Loved the open kitchen concept to get a peek as the chef grills up food. I ordered the loaded chicken taco with just a dab of hot sauce for $5.29 or the value deal three tacos for $13.49. Within a few minutes, the owner built my taco and presented it on a red triple stack tray with sauce cups on the side. The first bite was messy, as most tacos are, but the supreme burst of flavors mixed with the grilled chicken against the crispy shell was enjoyable to say the least. Happened upon this place in a plaza on our way to Publix to prepare for Hurricane Milton. Was greeted with a hello when walking in and immediately new where to go to order due to a roped off lane that said enter. The decor was a simple, clean, rustic feel with a nice logo mural on the wall. I asked the woman serving me to make me a taco (with chicken) that she thought would be great. I added a couple other toppings/sauce that I'd like. One of the tastiest tacos I've had in a long time. I'd definitely return for more and recommend trying this place if you've never been. read more

I came here to grab something quick to eat. Before I walked in, some ladies recommended the chicken bowl, saying it was delicious and filling even though a group of six of them had shared it. With that in mind, I ordered it, and boy, was she not wrong. The chicken was flavorful, and they were very generous with everything I asked for. Two people could have easily shared the same plate and been full. The only thing I would recommend to improve the dish is offering some sauce to enhance the flavor. Stopped by this fast, casual spot for dinner since I was in the area and haven't tried it yet. The inside was super clean and the service was quick & friendly. I got a steak burrito and a side of chips. The chips were $1.99 and was actually a pretty big portion but I wish they already included chips (even if it was a small side) with each of their entrees. I enjoyed the guacamole and chips and the steak tacos. . The service was excellent and the manager was extremely courteous to me. I ordered a cup of guacamole and they accidentally gave me the small size but also charged me for the small side so I offered to pay the difference for the large cup and he just comped to me which was the type of small gesture that makes people come back and write great reviews on yelp. Food is very good, fresh, and top quality. Burrito is my favorite, but tacos are also excellent. Personally I prefer the flour tortillas, but my wife prefers the corn ones which are also very good, but again, everything is top notch. The owners are very helpful and friendly. Not impressed, but not terrible. This $13 burrito didn't hit the mark. It was mainly due to it tasting a lot like a $9 burrito and arriving room temperature. It's not terrible but for the price I expected better quality meat. Flavor is good and the ingredients all seem fresh just a notch or two below what I expect at this price point. Just a tad. Great restaurant! We tried the steak burrito, chicken bowl, guac, queso, and salsa. First off the steak is legit. It's real steak unlike some restaurants, great flavor, and the burrito was a perfect size. All the toppings were great... We had pickled jalapeño, lettuce, cheese... All were perfect a complement and everything deliciously. The guacamole is decent, however, the queso is to die for and the salsa is equally as delicious. Well definitely eat more lunch is here, and bring friends to try as well and recommend anybody who likes chipotle to support the small businesses. The chicken bowl was $8 and the steak $1 extra. The food is excellent. Like Chipotle on steroids. Much better quality food than Chipotle and the staff is always friendly. You do get a good bang for your buck here. A bowl with many choices of toppings (most free but some like guacamole a slight up charge) of the chicken or beef protein is only $8.99 and steak is only a dollar or two more. The place looks clean and in all honesty I can't ever imagine going back to Chipotle after going to La Rural. They do a rewards program so give them your cell # to enroll to earn points. Like chipotle, but no chipotle. It's a nice option to have close by. It was good, but just good. The staff was very nice. I got the nachos and while the toppings were good they just kinda sat at the very top. Nothing made it all the way through to most of the nachos. So after the top layer I was left with nothing but tortilla chips. It would be nice if they spread the chips out on a bigger plate that way the toppings would sit atop more of the chips. My husband had a beef burrito and again it was good but just good. We both agreed we liked the chicken better than the beef. Will I go again?
