Stopped in today with my girlfriend and had one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in South Florida. I paid $25 before tip for the "unlimited tacos" option (base price + chips + drink). After finishing my first plate, I went back up for another serving. The employee stops me and says I have to pay another $16 because he "saw on the cameras" that my girlfriend ate a couple scraps off my plate with chips. They're literally watching security cameras to stop people from sharing a bite of food. At a taco bar. That level of pettiness says everything about how this place is run. For the record -- I ate one plate and was satisfied. I wasn't trying to take advantage of anything. They still tried to charge me $32+ for what they call "unlimited" tacos. On top of that, the guy was preparing food while holding a dirty house phone, touching it, then going straight back to making food with no gloves or hand washing. Completely unsanitary. Even another customer nearby told me to "chill" because the situation was so absurd. A paying customer gets lectured and accused on camera over a couple of leftover pieces of taco meat on chips? Ridiculous. I won't be back, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who expects basic customer service, professionalism, or food safety. There are far better taco spots in Broward that don't treat customers like they're trying to steal from them. read more

Located only a few min from my job, my coworkers and I usually order the lunch specials from here every now and then. It's offered Monday - Friday, for about $12-$14 you can't go wrong. I must say that this was one of the small taco joints which blew our mind. They have around six selections of different meats with their corn tacos. They're super fast usually you get it while you're ordering stuff itself just like a chipotle, but they have very authentic way of making their meats. We ordered a bunch of stuff and it was outstanding. They were running beer specials two dollar per beer where nachos and queso was amazing. I could really see how authentic it tasted. Their El Pastor tacos were amazing and they had three different varieties of chicken tacos mild medium and hot. I got all of them. It was great. We also got meat over rice, which was amazing as well. Their service was super fast. You can say that there's a lot of people who come here very often. They have a very dive bar kind of a vibe pretty cool, small seating, quick and quick out kind of a place but since we went in the afternoon, it wasn't very busy and we actually spent a lot of time there. Came here as a recommendation. Place is Chipotle style where you order what you want (tacos burrito etc..) then pick your protein and toppings. I got two birria tacos with chips and guac/side of queso dip and my girlfriend got 3 tacos and churros. We both got fountain drinks. It all came out to be around 50 dollars. The food was great (aside from the chips - they were stale) but it's hard to get over the fact of the price. I eat a lot of tacos and there's plenty of places where you can get the same amount of food for much cheaper. The price is the only reason for the 4 star review. Otherwise the place is great. Service was super nice as well and patient. And not something I usually review but the bathrooms here are really clean as well. A bunch of veggie options, and flour or corn tortillas. The prices are good and the portions are nice. And there are even some specials. It's not a classy restaurant, but it's the kind of place where you can go and hang out and just enjoy yourself with good friends and good food. Or you can go by yourself and still enjoy the food. The set up is similar to Chipotle. They have the meats, veggies, and toppings laid out in warming tins. You get to pick and choose how you would like to build your taco. I built mines to my liking with Cilantro, onions, jalenpeno, avocado, lettuce, Pico, cheese, and spicy salsa. The taco looked amazing and I couldn't wait to dig in. Unfortunately, when I did dig in the meat was cold and lacked authentic flavors. It was pretty disappointing. I left highly disappointed and truly would never return. The restaurant is pretty spacious and can hold large groups. They are located in a strip mall with lots of parking. The staff was friendly. The Davie Taco Bar is a no frills taqueria serving seriously delicious tacos, burritos, and other common mexican style entrees. There are several options for ordering from pre-selected entrees on a menu to a Chipotle style taco/burrito bar. They have daily specials for lunch that typically come with free chips and a drink when ordering a main entree. I ordered a build-your-burrito with barbacoa, rice, cojita cheese, pico de gallo, beans, homemade green salsa and a crema. The barbacoa was so tender, it nearly melted in my mouth and all the other ingredients were freshly prepared. The burrito was delicious and tasted exponentially better than chain restaurants of a similar concept such as Chipotle or Moe's. The burrito came with a side of tortilla chips and a drink all for the very reasonable price of $12. I would also like to take time to discuss the staff. This taco bar is a gem hidden in Davie. I came in for tacos. On a really busy night but they managed to get me in and out as quick as possible. It's a smooth operation here. You order at the beginning of the line, they place your meats on your taco shell/sopa/bowl and then you go to the other end of the counter where you choose your toppings. The Birria tacos are FIRE. So tasty and crispy. The broth is rich and I could easily drink it straight out of the container. I had mine with the classic onions and cilantro. Next I had the sopas de jefe. The meat is juicy and tender! I but made the mistake of adding too much salsa on my sopas , unfortunately they ended up really soggy by the time I got to eating them. My advice is to ask for the salsa on the side! Also, i love spicy food but beware the red sauce! A little goes a long way! read more

The tacos were so tasty and well seasoned. In the day their tacos are $2 or you can get all you can get for $14. I had the chicken, shrimp, and steak tacos. I like the fact that you have the option to decide what toppings you want in your tacos making them customizable. I wanted to try the queso but it was sold out by the time we arrive. The staff was very helpful with the ordering process and overall service was great. I will definitely be back to try that queso and the other tacos on the menu. My experience overall was 6.8/7. I ordered 3 tacos. My tacos was the Ta'con Madre and Campechana. My favorite overall was the Ta'con Madre! The flavors and the seasoning was on point but one small critique I have was the meats on both tacos was little dry! Not a big deal because the flavoring was so delicious but the meat was on the spectrum on the dry side but it didn't ruined the overall freshness of the tacos. This taco bar is located directly off State Road 84 and I595 in a strip shopping center. It has been around for quite a while, and I have wanted to try it as Mexican is my favorite food hands down. I ordered three of the signature tacos a campechana, a gringa, and a pirata. These are very much like the best authentic street tacos with carne asada, cheese and fresh avocado. The handcrafted tortillas were heated in front of me, and they added melted cheese to the corn tortilla making like a tortilla sandwich with melted cheese between the layers. I chose from a variety of toppings to dress my tacos- lettuce, tomatoes, crema, jalapeños, onions, more cheese, lime, etc and added one of the three salsas- mild, medium and hot. The mild and medium are perfect examples of salsa verde- flavorful with just the right amount of heat. The hot salsa has a bite, but it is not too bad. When I finished the tacos, I also ordered the Sopes Del Jefe, which are handcrafted corn cakes with toppings. These come with chicharron and salsa verde, refried beans, cilantro, crema, and queso fresco. These were so great!. The sopa is such a good combination of salty and sweet. It goes so well with the chicharron. I will go back for these specifically. I also want to try their Elote en Vaso. Finally, I had some hibiscus tea- which you can't find anywhere and it was quite satisfying. They also have two other Aqua frescas- horchata and tamarindo and an assortment of Mexican beer and soda. I LOVE their chicken tacos! The tortilla is amazing, like nothing I've had before and the chicken spicy and juicy. I usually build my own, with three tacos. You can get flour or corn tortillas, which they heat up for you before creating your masterpiece. I get the Tinga, which is shredded chicken in a chile ancho and chipotle sauce. It may be spicy, but it is so flavorful. Next, is the toppings, which I keep simple with lettuce and pico de gallo; but, they have a bunch of other toppings to choose from such as grilled pineapple, crema, cilantro & onion, just to name a few.
