Have driven by this location for years. It appeared to grow from a food truck with a home-base to a walk-in/take-out location with storefront signage. To succed in the taco space is just about as difficult as a local pizzeria. As a takeout and delivery spot, I finally made the decision to give them a shot. I got the 4 steak taco meal and took them up on the instruction to ask for corn. For me, it's not authentic Mexican if its on flour. I also ordered the chips and salsa. I always start there because you're getting 80%+ of the ingredients in all the dishes with those 2 selections. That philosophy has done me right a many of a late night post night adventures. Stick with the basics and things tend to work out. The flavors were on point! A squeeze of fresh lime and a drizzle of the green sauce they provided were they perfect additions to the steak taco. Seasoned perfectly without the sauce too. They do simple flavors and don't complicate it with unnecessary additions. From a flavor and quality standpoint, they push out a very good taco. Where this review dips down to a three, almost two is the value to portion size and for the $11 chips and salsa. The tacos were $5 each, which is middle of the road price wise when you're buying a 4 pack menu item. The taste didn't make up for amount of steak and condiments that $20 got me. I want to stress the taco was good, 6/10. The chips and salsa not so much. I couldn't tell if it was fresh salsa or canned. My years owning a burrito/wrap restaurant didn't help make that determination either. My hope is canned based on the product. It was the consistency of a loose V-8 with less than 10 pieces of onion and tomato with one tiny flower tip of cilantro. The flavor was neutral, very tomato forward. Same thing with the chips, I couldn't tell if they were homemade. The completely saturated paper bag they were in leans towards homemade, nothing notable about the chip, which in all fairness is usually the case at your average taco spot. My real problem with this experience will show in the photos. $31 + tax and tip for what you see. I have average size hands for reference. A small bag of chips saturated with oil and a 3 ounce cup of 95% seasoned tomato juice for $11 is terrifying to me. The items with the largest profit margins being over charged like that are bad economic signs. Most high volume Mexican eateries provide unlimited chips and salsa, typically with a spicy and mild option. This is a takeout scenario, so I'm not implying that should happen. I'm mentioning it because those restaurants give it away because of the food cost involved. Without the bag and plastic souffle cup, max cost on this chips and salsa is $1.50. That likely covers the paper goods too. $11 is a brave move with a takeout/delivery spot and tons of legit local competition a few miles from Fort Lauderdale. Your food better be top 10% to get away with that. I don't want to beat a dead horse, just look at the photo and put me in my place if I'm out of pocket. Give a fair assessment of the amount of ingredients in the taco as well. It just seems like the juice isn't worth the squeeze imo. If I saw their food truck out in the wild, I would absolutely order some tacos. Otherwise, there are far too many quality Mexican restaurants providing a better product and value to check out. read more

Parking was limited but easy. Interior design was really cool, love the late night vibes. Very cultural and significant. Limited seating but most people who came in did takeout. Service was quick and our cashier was really nice. My sister and I shared the nachos, we ordered half chicken and half steak nachos and let me tell you, it was super loaded with cheese, meats, refried beans, with a side of guac and sour cream galor. The takeout box was HEAVY and the nachos were delicious. We were not greeted, we actually stood there for about 10 minutes before the woman behind the cash register actually acknowledged us. She then proceeded to take our order touching the screen with the same gloves she was preparing the food with, then answered her personal phone while still taking our order . Hello Taco serves authentic mexican street food in a truck in Fort Lauderdale. Their menu includes tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and more. They also have deals throughout the week depending on the day ($10 for 4 tacos on Tuesdays for example). Though this sounds appealing, my experiences there have been mediocre. The food truck is located in a shady parking lot in front of a barbershop where people are hanging out. Both times I have been there, there was a drunk man walking around getting too close to our group making us feel uncomfortable. Along with this, the people working the truck do not speak english so it is hard to communicate what I want off their menu. Since I am vegetarian, I need to customize parts of my order and the lady working the front would not change the meat to beans until 10 minutes of pleading. They have limited seating and have no shade to sit under, so be prepared to take your order home. When you do get the right order, though, the food tastes great. I've gotten vegetarian tacos with beans, cheese, fajitas, and pico de gallo and they are truly authentic. I just do not know if they are worth the hassle to get them. I am only in town for one night before going in a cruise with my family. I wanted to try something local, and ordered Hello Taco through Uber Eats. This was one of the most disappointing Mexican food experiences. If you order through Uber the 4 tacos cost $20 and you still have to pay the service fees. If I am spending $25+ on tacos, then I shouldn't be getting meat that is dry and bland. Had I known this was going to be my experience I would have ordered Chipotle instead. The chicken and al pastor were subpar. The Al pastor lacked any robust flavor. The cilantro was more flavorful than the Al pastor. The chicken had color to show you it was cooked in some kind of seasoning, but it was dry and underwhelming. The steak was decent and the shrimp was okay, at best, which is saying a lot since you get maybe one or two pieces of shrimp cut up into one taco. The tortillas were just soggy and fell apart. The rice and beans were one of the worst ever. The beans were bland and tasted like they came straight out of the can. The rice was undercooked and lacked any flavor. When I hear a crunch eating rice, you know it is terrible. You can get rice that tastes better from an Uncle Ben's packet at the store, and it will be cheaper too. Finally, $14 for chips and Guac. The Guac was probably the best thing in our entire order which was a disappointment when paired with stale and, yet again, bland chips. If you are ever passing through this area, or if you are one of the people going through the port because of a cruise, do NOT eat here if it is your only night to eat food local to this area. Especially through Uber, do not order from this place unless you want to waste an unjustifiable amount of money To say this place serves authentic Mexican cuisine is borderline disgraceful to the many other restaurants or food trucks who don't try to drain your wallet with mediocre food. read more

Managers do not know what they're doing, this place does not care if you're a regular or not they rather keep and lose you for $20 and not value the fact that I am a regular customer for many months and have spent well over $500 on them. I placed an order on uber eats for $20-25 and cancelled not even 1 minute later because I was missing items. I added more items and my new total was $90. I was still charged for the $20 order and my $90 l, I told Them to please credit me my $20 order.
