I loveeeee a good taco hidden gem. A love even more a carne asada taco that just gets right to the point. Unfortunately my experiences are influenced with ambiance, interaction flow, pricing and obviously the taste factor. The place is small but cutesy and the tacos were actually good just $20 for three tacos and two little containers of sauce, I asked for jalapeños but they were extra charge. After a day of shopping it was lunch time. My friend has been wanting to try this place so off we went. It is a small , a very clean place about seating for 12-20 people. You order yourself on an Apple screen. It was simple to order and within a few minutes delicious food came out fresh and moisture. I've only been here once but the food was pretty good! I got a birria quesadilla which came with fried tortilla chips. I wasn't a fan of the tortilla chips but the quesadilla itself was flavorful and the sauce was amazing. They have tablets where you can order the food yourself and they were only talking card because they didn't have enough change to take cash. Unless you're paying with exact change then you should pay card. It's a pretty small store, inside was a little hot and there were only 4 tables but we ate inside since it wasn't too busy. Been here three times, I needed to thoroughly see how I felt about this place before I gave my review. The people are lovely, however the last time we went the gentleman that helped us served us a hibiscus tea juice instead of strawberry lemonade and when we asked him about it he assured us it was the lemonade we ordered but then we asked someone else who confirmed that it was not and got us one cup of strawberry lemonade to make up for it. Not malicious on the other guy's part, I think he just didn't understand. Overall, I feel very mixed on this place. It smells a little weird and the flavors are always a little off. Nothing tastes the way you think it will, and sometimes the flavors aren't consistent. One time we got tortilla chips that were a plain flavor and the next time, the tortilla chips were sweet. I loved the texture of the fish tacos but there was something about the flavor, something small, that just tasted off. I can't put my finger on it. My husband loves all their food though so maybe I'm just tripping. However, the sauced burrito is FIRE!! Get with the birria meat and cover in the cheese sauce and holy moly!! Came here to eat really quickly while I was out and it was delicious! I was craving tacos so I got the American style soft tacos. They were so good! I added a side of guacamole to put on the tacos. Pretty small spot , but the food was flavorful. The service wasn't bad but at the time there was only 1 person cooking and managing orders. Only accepted card no cash which was a minor inconvenience but understandable for a small business. The staff was very friendly and accommodating still. Coming from SoCal I find myself frequently missing Mexican food. Taco Haven looked very promising so we decided to give it a try. The interior is very clean and beautifully decorated. You order off an iPad and the service is quite quick, it's mostly a takeout restaurant. It's small inside but they do have tables for you to sit at. We ordered the Birria burrito and mixto tacos. The burrito was quite small but it was unfortunate because the meat inside was quite dry and came in large chunks. One of the defining characteristics of birria to me is incredibly tender meat dripping in consome, two things that were missing from this burrito. The tacos were better and came with a lot of meat in 3 tacos for $15. It was a mix of carne asada and Al pastor pork topped with avocado and pico de gallo. The flavor was great but the downside was the meat was extremely salty. If it wasn't as salty it would've been more enjoyable. The salsas that come with the meal are very good. We'd like to give it another try just ordering something else next time. read more

Meat to tortilla ratio is crazy with these inflation tariff prices! No gloopy toppings unless you like them that way and for that they have "American tacos" on their menu too with sour cream and ground beef the way you remember from your childhood lol. But if you like the real deal tacos, this is the spot. Is everything 100% authentic? Well, the pastor is pork loin instead of traditional but the flavor is on point. The carne asada is generous and tasty and the fish tacos are as good as any I've had in San Diego or Malibu. And don't even get me started on the birria, that's a treat for when you need a cheesy hug. The rest of the food is also delicious fresh, full of flavor and at a great value. Standout is the birria Ramen and the other soups. I always say you can measure a kitchen by their soups. Honorable mention to the tacos dorados or (flautas) however you were raised to say it. Their sides not too be missed are the guacamole, esquites corn and the Pico is perfect for kids because it's not spicy but it's easy to spice up with their house red and green sauces. The HH price has gone up a $1 in the past month or so. Still worth it. However, feeling a bit disenchanted from my latest experience. Maybe it was just an off day for the guy who always runs the front. I placed my take out order as usual. By the time I get there, I get the "your order is ready" text message. I watch him pack two orders and I'm highly confident one is mine. I'm waiting to get up to the counter. Once I make it there, I ask if one is mine and he says no. He has a row of orders laid out on the counter so I leave him alone. I wait 20 minutes and then I watch him grab one the order that I watched him pack and call my name. I poked him for sure about it, not rudely, that it was mine after all and no apology or response. I wouldn't have minded much of the wait if he just admitted to his mistake. The gentleman working the counter informed us that they have been open almost a week. He helped us with questions and helped us place our order on the tablet, point of sale system. Food was fresh and flavorful and my mixto tacos came with a spicy guacamole which wasn't bad, coming from someone who doesn't like it too spicy. Hubby's birria tacos were tasty, and he said he would get them again especially when they will be discounted on Taco Tuesday. The birria was soggy and chewy, the steak tasted like beef jerky, the chips tasted like they have been in an open bag at my grandmas house (completely stale) the queso tasted bitter. The elote was okay but a weird mayo taste on top and the rice and beans were good. The soup tasted like canned tomato soup without the tomato just not the right tortilla soup. The cheapest order I had was the rice and bean and that was the only good one. Service was good but I would not go here again. read more
