The food is always super delicious from here, I live downtown and it's my favorite taco spot near me. Honestly everything in the menu is super good nothing specific is my favorite and I don't dislike anything. The salsa bar is also super great it's my favorite part!! Every time my mom comes to town we go here!! The guys that work there are also super nice and get the food out quickly, it's always busy but the inside is always clean and the salsa bar is always clean and stocked. 10/10 recommend going here. Unfortunately I have no pictures i'm always so ready to eat that I forget!! read more

Everything about my experience here was just phenomenal. They have a really great pico bar, and the cucumbers were so fresh and crisp. Overall just a really delicious joint. I wish we had one in northern Utah. read more

Enjoy coming to taco boys. This is my to go spot since I've moved out here to Scottsdale no place does it better if you want authentic good quality food. Good and quick service. And the only reason why I gave it a three was because of consistency, depending on who is serving portions may vary. read more

Really solid taco spot. Kind of hard to get to and for parking since it's right at the start of Roosevelt Row in downtown Phoenix. Fairly small list, but packs a punch. They put so much meat in your street taco. I got asada and pastor. The pastor was so juicy and flavorful. read more

Not LGBT+ friendly cashier was really rude and gave us a bad attitude, the cooks were making homophobic jokes while dinning there They got our orders wrong, missing items please make sure u get the right items. Place is really small can't find a place to sit. The salsa bar cucumbers and lemons that were old could tell that they weren't fresh. Wouldn't recommend this place. read more

4.5 stars but rounding up for one of the better taco spots I've been to in a while. There are quite a few Taco Boy's locations in the Phoenix area, which makes sense since they serve quality tacos with large portions for very reasonable prices. Ingredients seemed very fresh, and service is speedy. Their menu is simple: tacos, burritos, quesadillas, vampiros. You can choose from 6 different proteins: asada, pastor, barbacoa, pollo, and even cabeza and tripas! I believe it was an additional $0.50 for fajitas style. It was busy at 6:30pm on a Sunday; however, the line to order was short and I received my order in about 5 minutes. I ended up trying: -Barbacoa Taco ($3.49) + Pastor Taco ($3.49) [https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=_fWC6GSgaGoqIBU0QYZCOQ&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg]: The barbacoa was tender, but a little too lean for my preference. The pastor taco was definitely the winner, and I loved the flavor of the pastor. I tried their corn tortilla as well as their flour, and both were really good, and really thin. I probably would choose the corn over the flour just because it's homemade here, and hard to get the same quality of corn tortilla, even in the Bay Area. -Asada Vampiro ($3.49) + Pastor Vampiro ($3.49) [https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=14P16hed3GNF_C2OPHctFw&userid=76vIFZcC7owykCBjMfGVXg]: The vampiro is a corn-tortilla taco that is a bit crunchy, and they have a layer of cheese on top and then a layer of protein. They did NOT skimp on the cheese here, and this is highly recommended for cheese lovers. The asada was good, but could've used more sear/crisp and a little more flavor; however, the meat was tender. The pastor was again the favorite, and I loved that it had a little grease to it. Although the vampiro was good, I would prefer trying a quesadilla the next time around. They have a complimentary salsa bar available, which included sliced cucumber and whole radishes. My favorite out of the salsas were the green avocado salsa, the roasted salsa, and the pico de gallo. Add your own diced onions and cilantro on top of your tacos; however, their pico also has diced jalapenos, but they weren't very spicy. I would definitely come back for more tacos and to give their quesadillas a try. Both indoor and outdoor seating were available. They had a small parking lot, but it doesn't have a ton of spots available. I also didn't see much street parking in this area. read more

So-I have a bookmark page in my Yelp, for restaurants in AZ. I ALSO have a tacos in AZ bookmark. Yup. Hubs and I learned about Taco Boy's on the show Taco Chronicles and that's when my tacos bookmark came to be! Naturally, we had to come with the rest of our taco loving family, for our first time on Father's Day. When we got here, there was no parking. But it's not too hard to park down the street and walk over. You can smell the barbecued meat before you even come inside. Ah, so good. I ordered the Al Pastor and Chicken, hubs got carne asada. We were helped right away and served fast. The order takers at the front take your order and then someone else rings you up. The toppings bar has pickled onions and cucumbers (not pickled) to refresh your palate. Salsa's were all delicious. They kept the bar full and fresh looking. On this day, their AC had broke. But it wasn't miserably hot yet outside, so it was not a total inconvenience. You could tell they were trying to fix it. There were options to sit outside too. Seating options are limited and you may have to wait for someone to leave before you can sit down. It met the hype and we will be back. Extremely good eats for reasonable prices. read more

Finally! A place that has great food, good vibes, and is still affordable. Nowadays tacos are kind of expensive considering how many you could make at home for the same price as one of them fancy tacos! Well, let me tell you! This place right here knows what they are doing! The meat was well-seasoned, and the portions were on point! I just tried 3 tacos. Two steaks and 1 carnitas all were so good! My food was fast! There was no line so that helps. The gentleman at the counter was pleasant! I am a customer for life! Until next time. I will dine in and enjoy the ambiance! Oh, and the Salsa Bar Genius! The green ones are delicious! read more

Taco Boy's is the real deal and very happy we decided to stop in on the way to a concert. We knew right away this place was legit and the food smelled awesome as soon as we walked in. I ordered two chicken burritos fajita style and they were amazing. The vegetables were obviously fresh and the cheese was spread perfectly throughout the burrito. Sometimes you get a burrito where the cheese is only in certain sections and it ruins the flavor. Everything was made to order and the prices were reasonable. It does tend to get busy during events and peak hours so plan accordingly. This place is a gem in the West Valley and worth checking out! read more

Also tried this place cause of Taco Chronicles on Netflix. BEST. TRIPA. TACOS. THAT. HAVE. EVER. LANDED. ON. MY. TASTE. BUDS. So far. My boyfriend and I recently fell in loveeee with tripa tacos, and this place did not disappoint one bit. The only disappointment was in myself for not ordering again before driving back home to Vegas. Ugh. Now, I'll have to wait forever until I eat these again T-T The other tacos were great. We tried the Jamaica agua fresca. That was refreshering. Lol It's been about 2 weeks since I last ate here, and I still dream of it. read more

Tacos boys food is always delicious. the service is al good and the ambiance is always relaxing.

Walking in to this restaurant you just know that it's going to be amazing. The smells, watching them cook the meat...these are real street tacos. Definitely the best street tacos in Phoenix. The meat itself is charred beautifully, with all the smoky flavor you're craving. Even the beans were surprisingly smoky and are the best beans I've had, do not miss out on these. The salsa bar is great, more than enough to flavor your tacos even though you could eat these tacos plain and would be more than satisfied. Definitely a Phoenix restaurant we will be coming to often! read more

The finest in Mexican cuisine that I have had in all of Arizona. They even let me practice my espaniol! Most of their menu inside is in spanish. They are more than happy to help if you do not understand. Parking is not great, the food is well worth the frustration of parking. read more

This place was amazing. I got the plato (beans, 2 meats (asada and barbacoa), and 10 tortillas (I got corn)). This has the be the best deal on the menu. The meats are super flavorful. The beans are great -- also very flavorful. There is a salsa bar, and I didn't need anything on my tacos except a little lime because the meat was so good. The burritos looked amazing (what my brother got). I absolutely want to come back here. My only complaint -- we got a side of beans, and it came on a plate with foil on top. Maybe invest in a bowl for transport of beans. =) read more

I've known about Taco Boys since inception. Maybe it was its doofy name, or it's mainstream location on RoRo, which led me to believe it was not crème de la creme of the taco world. After watching their feature on Netflix, I immediately knew I was wrong and to not judge a book by its cover. Perhaps the other 100+ people waiting in line for tacos on a Saturday night watched the special as well. The restaurant was slammed, with customers waiting inside and out. Inside smelled dreamy - a mix of Al pastor, asada, carnitas, and pollo. If you couldn't see the counter, you'd hear butcher knives penetrating through loud music slamming against cutting boards dicing meat into small cubes. The open faced restaurant is inviting and enticing. How do you choose just a couple tacos? I couldn't. So I chose one of each. My favorite was the barbacoa, but to be honest, all were delicious in their own unique way. Amazing and definitely worth going to if you haven't. Pro tip- Watch the special on Netflix before you go read more

Loved my first visit with my brother! Loved my second visit as well. The highlight and must have is the Tripa. It is salty, crunchy and smoky with just the right amount of chew. I like the cabeza next. It was juicy and melt in your mouth flavorful. The al pastor pork was beautifully seasoned and the asada was delicious. Next time, I am going to order 3 tripas! I love watch them chop their meats. So pro! read more

Taco Boy's - This is what happens when you come to Taco Boys!!! - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Tacos are worth trying and toppings are set up nicely in a salsa bar style. The one thing that I wa thrown off by is the labeling for 2 types of tacos. Traditionally barbacoa is the same as cabeza. Which cabeza is just describing the area of the animal it comes from. Here T Taco Boys be aware that "cabeza" is barbacoa and that "barbacoa" is the side skirt. Good thing I asked the ordering guy (or maybe in this case a taco boy, ) beforehand what the difference was. When I told him both cabeza and barbacoa were the same his response was "well we are not in Mexico." I don't know if he was being funny or serious, but he wasn't smiling. If you made it this far you are a taco connoisseur. Give them a shot but always ask if you have any menu questions. read more

I couldn't have asked for a better welcome to Arizona dinner than this. Quality ingredients and good amount of food. They even offered us a sample of their sorbet when walking in. My friend got a quesadilla while I got a burrito. When picking up our orders, I noticed that they both weighed approximately the same. Quesadillas always gave me the impression of less food. My friend even had enough for lunch the next day. What really surprised me was when they weighed every one their plated entrees to ensure consistency. I love it! read more

Taco Boy's - Burrito - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

3/5 I've been coming to Downtown Taco Boys for the past two years, and I really love their food. The flavors are great, and the portions are generous for the price. The only downside with the food itself is that the meat tends to be on the chewier side--definitely a cheaper cut--but I understand that, and it's still enjoyable. The real issue here is the customer service. First off, they list a phone number online, but don't even bother calling because they won't answer. When I asked about it in person, the staff literally laughed at me like it was a joke. On top of that, they messed up my order because they were too busy goofing around instead of listening. I ordered two burritos, one with no beans--pretty simple--but somehow, they still got it wrong. I keep coming back because the food is good, but the unprofessional attitude and lack of attention to detail are frustrating. Might start going to another location soon. read more

Ambience was amazing. Playing music, tons of people in there. Ordered fast despite a long line. Large chicken quesadilla was good and big size. Tacos were stuffed, added topping from food bar. Burritos were good. Made it a fajita style. I mine got mushy cuz of the fajita juice and barbacoa sauce. Horchata wasn't good. Taste and felt rice grains and tons of cinnamon. Food still delicious would go again. Best meat was chicken. We ordered chicken, pork, carna asada and barbacoa. Barbacoa was good but a little fatty. read more

The food here is great. Taco are all fabulous and the toppings/salsa cart is well stocked. They work fast to get your food out quickly. Horchata was really delicious. The parking is a nightmare, and the place is crowded. Getting to the salsas is like running the gauntlet. When we walked in the music was blaring but later it was turned off completely-- so not sure what the norm is there. Next time I'll probably get the 1lb of meat with 15 tortillas deal and take it home for the family. read more

I've died and gone to taco heaven! Order your tacos, quesadillas, etc at the counter. Then, customize them from the various offerings at the salsa bar! I'll be back next time I'm in the AZ! read more

Taco Boy's - Carbon - Mexican Near Me - Phoenix, Arizona

Fire Tacos, Crazy Busy. Love the tacos here. They are very authentic tacos. Similar to how they are made in Mexico, the meat is very tasty and they have a topping bar consisting of onions, cilantro, green and red salsas, avocado crema, and limes. The place is always packed. Even on a Monday night when most restaurants are dead. It's hard to find a table there so you usually have to resort to sitting outside on their patio. In the winter, the patio is great! In the summer, it is unbearably hot and the patio is not suitable. Plus the patio faces a busy street so you will hear a lot of traffic noise. Would recommend but best to do take out. read more

Easily best tacos, better than most legit spots in Phoenix. Al Pastor is better at Tacos Huicho but otherwise a great place for late night tacos or just lunch. Parking situation here is trash so you'll need to park on Roosevelt or Portland. Also keep in mind that the order situation here is non traditional. You order at one counter and pay at a different counter. Not sure why they choose to do that since it just ends up confusing people? Keep that in mind and make sure to ask if you're in the corriline to order, the only spot to wait for your food is the same spot as where you order. Again, super confusing! This really is one of the most convenient spots for tacos when going out on the town. It's across the street from Roosevelt row, a few blocks from the rooftop bar, and just a few minutes walk to the main party district of downtown. If given the choice between taco boys and any other late night spot in downtown, always go with Taco Boys! read more

This was our first time here, been wanting to come here for awhile. The parking is a bummer, it's like the luck of the draw on parking, we however got lucky and someone was leaving. It's a lot smaller inside than I had imagined it to me, not very many tables and you can tell it's gets crazy busy here. We were lucky to get a table as we caught someone as they were getting ready to leave. I ordered the barbacoa vampiro, tripa taco, barbacoa taco, my son ordered a bean and cheese burrito, my hubby a tripa burrito and carne asada quesadilla. The vampiros I would say I liked the most out of what I ordered, the Tripas were inconsistent some where crunchy and some were really chewy. Salsas were good... The other thing I didn't care for was the aguas were already served in cups so when you order one you just grab one... to me this would make a watered down drink however my son said the horchata was good. I mean all in all it wasn't bad, but I didn't feel like anything really stood out... read more

I had my doubts, but Taco Boy's is the real deal. They live up to the hype and beyond! My husband and I stopped by while driving through Phoenix and couldn't believe how busy they were for a weekday before 11am. Despite the busyness, the staff did an excellent job of keeping wait times low while pumping out outstanding food. Taco Boy's shares a building with a Jimmy John's, though both have their own respective entrances with distinct divisions between the two places. They have a small, free parking lot for patrons, with customers frequently entering and exiting. If you don't find parking right away, be patient as someone will leave soon. Service was professional and quick. They have a good system in place to efficiently handle all of the orders. We didn't wait more than ten minutes for our food and, as mentioned, it was prepared to a very high quality. Our order consisted of the following: - Tacos: asada, pastor, and chicken - Asada Quesadilla Everything was phenomenal. The meats were all tender, flavorful, and ohhh sooo good! Tortillas tasted super fresh. Our meal was out of this world. Price was more than reasonable for the quality. We took a chance on Taco Boy's during this very brief drive through Phoenix and we couldn't have been more satisfied. If you're on the fence about stopping by, don't be! You won't be disappointed. read more
