I remembered when Pizza Hut and Taco Bell was in one building which was very convenient. My family had a choice depending on their mood. But Taco Bell purchased the property and a high traffic area versus Kapiolani Blvd which they shut down . I pretty much ate my elongated cheesy meat burrito and chicken soft taco before taking a picture. It's hard to take a picture when it's wrapped up. Cheesy meat burrito was filled with lots of taco meat, cheese mixed in with rice and some crushed up red taco shells with a little bit of a kick after taste, not sure if that was a mistake. I didn't ask for spicy version...but mild. I had one of those wraps that folds five directions filled with taco meat, melted cheese, crunch flat taco, lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese! I could only eat half and best eaten hot so you have crunch factor. They are 24/7 and choose early morning...not much of a line! Soooo good! I bet the management of this place thinks they're doing the community a favor by having this trash food here, but you can tell by their lack of responses and lack of change, in over 3 years that I can see, to even attempt to do better. I hadn't eaten Taco Bell in nearly a decade when we decided to grab some takeout on the way home. Little did I know that the drive thru wait was horrific. We watched a door dash/uber eats type of guy come by and do 3 separate deliveries before we got to the order window. However, I did use mobile order since it gives me the opportunity to really take as long as I want to look at the menu which pairs nicely for when you have an extensively long line to wait in. First time I came here, they shorted me a whole crunch wrap in my combo and I essentially went to bed hungry. Second time we came, they gave us everything we ordered, but here's interesting part - I chose to pick up in-store for my mobile order. Inside, you get to see how slow their processes are. Possibly because they're now visible to the public, they needed to change from cans and buckets of imported ingredients to what is seemingly microwavables. About 30% of a an employee's time is waiting for food to warm up. Hence, why your food takes "a long time." BUT for $15 an hour as a full-grown adult, I probably wouldn't move very fast either. Maybe they need to hire younger staff in the next cycle. Bang for buck, I'll take it. You don't come here for high quality food, rather, just something you can take home and munch on. I tried to order a large Dr. Pepper with my meal, but she only charged me for a medium and also charged me for a large Pepsi. I am not sure where she got Pepsi from, but she kept insisting on giving one to me. Like, guys, trust me, I get it... working for corporations can be tough, but you've gotta take it up with your managers, not the customers. There were a number of issues that should be resolved if management & owner(s) can figure it out: - both self-order kiosks are broken but don't appear broken & no signs to indicate this nor do the employees tell customers -- customers tell other customers after wasting time - my nachos & chips order came in a takeout bag with no chips -- then the workers couldn't figure out that the chips were missing (very busy & stressed?) and the lady who gave me the chips didn't apologize despite making me come back to the store from my car - the nacho cheese sauce was full of clumps and I don't see this at the Kahala Taco Bell - the nacho chips themselves tasted almost like cardboard and plastic mixed together -- very unnatural & the chips at Kahala are much better - the spicy chipotle sauce tastes too spicy and weird so I left it out completely in the last few bites of my burrito The best part of my visit was the lady who rung up my order, Joy, as she showed enthusiasm and hope while asking me if I'd like to complete a survey. They have definite gone downhill for a few reasons. The menu has been cut in a 1/3, the way the food is presented is sloppy and not appetizing, the prices are so high, there aren't too many deals anymore. I know it's fast food, but as I say always, if I'm going to spend my money on something it better be worth it. Crunchy tacos without sour cream and a chicken chalupa all ordered. What I don't get is when you take something off, they should reimburse you for that because when you ask for extra anything they charge you. Lol wishful thinking.
