Table 87 is well known in the Gowanus area and has indisputably good Margherita pizza. They also provide local beer flights for $10, which is a great deal. Its definitely a great place to visit if you want to get to know the area and have a Margherita pizza that isn't done in the southern Italian style of pizza making. It is still brick oven though! I personally enjoy their pizzas more than anything although I have yet to try their paninis. I will update this review if I ever try a panini one day. I am vegetarian and love a good salad but every salad has pickled vegetables (as far as I am aware). Personally, that's not favorable for me when I'm eating a salad with crispy greens but some of my co-workers seem to enjoy it. read more

I've been here MANY MANY TIMES. I love there pizza, I also love the fact that it doesn't look like its been laying behind the counter for centuries. It is made fresh to order and they have amazing spices and garlic as condiments that can be added on top of pizza to give it that extra push of flavor. After trying pizza in the neighborhood I think this place gives you the "bang for your buck." Yea, there small pizza will cost you $12 but you know that is the price for quality. They have movie nights were they project movies outside you just have to call like a week in advance to reserve a table outside, I am not sure if this goes into the winter time. I like that they have indoor and outdoor seating. The nutella desert pizza on the other hand is just a no. The marshmallows don't do so well in the oven and it doesn't come out the way you think it would taste. I would NEVER order that again, but I am a huge fan of there pizza. So why not 5 stars, STAFF IS A HIT OR MISS. THE ATTITUDES OF SOME STAFF JUST MAKE ME NOT WANT TO GO THERE. Its like a love hate relationship I love there pizza and think that staff could use some major improvement on being nicer to guests. I was in the area to go to the Bell House, and was starving. Realized there wasn't really much in the area in terms of a quick meal, so went for pizza as the last resort. I was pleasantly surprised with the pizza here! We had a mushroom slice and one margherita slice, and they are some of the better brick oven slices we've had. Ingredients tasted very fresh. Paired that with a peroni beer, and I was happy! Ordering was a bit confusing- they don't have prices for slices posted anywhere. Unsure what the price was because at the end I just received a total receipt (not itemized). Pricey but oh man is the food good. The service is spot on though, I warn would be diners to ensure you tell your waiter not to have everything served all at once. After my first visit, I made sure to remind them not to bring appetizers and entrees out together. I have had Sandwiches, Calamari and Pizza there and everything was excellent tasting. Solid spot to grab a pizza. Let's preface this review with I ordered pick-up and can't speak to the in dining experience. Ordered a large Neapolitan Pizza. Pros -Large Pizza with fresh ingredients (mozzarella, basil and sauce were all very tasty) -Quick pick-up and good customer service after error with payment -Sauce is a bit sweet but I like it that way, super nice to compliment the tang of the cheese and the fresh basil was a nice touch. Cons -Fairly expensive pizza (about $29 bucks) -Would recommend eating the pizza ASAP as the cheese does start to get a bit congealed once it cools (not something that really can be avoided - but worth noting if you plan on driving a bit before eating). This is quite possibly the most disgusting pizza I have ever had. The company I work for orders from here regularly and every time that I decide to give it another try I am still beyond disappointed with their pizza. Limp soggy crust that doesn't even hold the ingredients in place, watery pizza sauce that has no seasonings whatsoever, I mean you don't see even a fleck of green in the sauce and the cheese is like rubber. One of our go-to pizzas for delivery. The delivery time is fast and the pizza is warm. Our favorite is the Margherita siciliano, baked clams, and broccoli rabe. The crust is great -- chewy with a nice crunch. Love the sauce and the cheese. read more

Love this pizza spot. Their coal oven pizzas are a great deal and delicious. I love the fresh mozzarella and their toppings are top notch. My husband and I have already ate here at least a half a dozen times both delivery and in the restaurant. Not for me. Ordered the four cheese calzone and it was loaded with cheese... Personally it was WAYYYY tooo much cheese for me. I could not eat more than a few bites of it. It was mainly filled with ricotta. Also there was only sauce you could dip it in which I thought was strange. Also got a slice of the moz & cheese pizza. I'm not a big moz fan so I should've know better. Barely ate that too. I would have to try more pasta items or salads to change the rating. I used grub hub which was efficient and timely. Excellent food! However, my hubby was a little tired! He kept falling asleep and didn't get to enjoy his meal! My little sister told me about this place and I am definitely coming back! The prosciutto was good: my hubby prefers 7-11! The sauce is delicious and I can eat it with anything: bread, crust, calamari, etc. My hubby wants to know the secret, I prefer to be kept in the dark! Picked Table 87 amongst many from yelp. It was a good choice. It was a Sunday night and nice and quite just the way we like it. We stared with the Fried calamari and it was perfect. Nice and soft and crispy. Then we chose the brick oven pizza with mushrooms and truffle oil which was also okay. Finally we ordered the special Linguine Melanzano. Linguine with eggplant in tomato sauce. It was delicious. While I thought the food was good it was very expensive and for that reason I don't think I would go back. read more

We went to Table 87 because we thought a friend of ours would be performing at their outdoor space. He wasn't there, but the group that was playing was really good. We decided to stay for the food and took an indoor table. The food was great. The best stuffed squash blossoms I've every had. My husband loved the seafood salad. I had the Portobello pasta with prosciutto. I could have eaten a loaf of bread to sop up the scrumptious gravy. The service was friendly and efficient, but what made this spot special was the seating. We've been trying to support a local restaurant every week since indoor dining returned, and Table 87 is the only restaurant that doesn't feature hard wooden chairs that make eating a meal a test of endurance. I've been getting pizza from here for many years. Since Covid hit, I've mostly done take-out and this is always a reliable, great pizza. Last time I also got a salad with pear but it was too sweet for my husband and I but we aren't deciding where to go for pizza based on the salad so that's ok! The arugula salad would probably be a safer bet. I wanted to update my review to recommend Table 87's online website that ships pizzas! I've sent 2 Sample packs, which include margherita, pepperoni and mushroom w/ truffle oil (the first order gets a 10% new online customer discount) since Christmas to people not from NYC and the pizza is a huge hit. I have no idea how they package and ship it so it heats so well but the pizzas went over really well and who wouldn't want to get a package with delicious Brooklyn pizza! My latest gift was sent to family who is home sick with Covid so stuck inside for a while and this was a perfect gift! Feel free to steal my idea! read more

I ordered takeout from here via the Slice app. I ordered a prosciutto personal 12 inch pie which came with prosciutto, baby arugula, mozzarella, and san marzano tomatoes. It was pretty easy to order on the Slice app and you pick up your order within 15-20 minutes. The place was a bit out of the way on 3rd Avenue with not much foot traffic. The pizza itself was delicious - ingredients were fresh and tasty. The pizza crust had a great crunch to it. It was a bit pricey for a pizza but the portion was large and the ingredients were definitely high quality. A personal 12 inch pie can definitely feed 2 people and you'll both be full. I had excellent service the night I ate at Table 87-attentive, but not overbearing, and my waiter was very knowledgeable. The house-made pesto on penne was possibly the best I've had, with butter and heavy cream in addition to the basil and Parmesan (or maybe parmigiano, I'm not sure). I also had a nice roasted beet salad, with big chunks of beets that were cooked to just the right softness. A nice glass of Chianti and a delicious cannoli rounded out my meal. My daughter, husband and I decided that instead of a take out as always we'd have a pizza at their outdoor space. We waited around 45 min for our pie. The waitress apologized and said that they lost track of our order. We understood and waited another 6 min. The pizza got at our table and our nightmare began. The table is made of plastic and because they are at the street they are crooked too. My husband served me and my daughter a slice and when he was serving himself the base of the pizza started to move and because it's titled everything fell down on the floor. The only thing the restaurant did was to offer my husband a slice of pizza. We paid $25 for 3 slices. I understand it was "our fault" but If I were the manager, the least I'd do is offer another pie. Not our fault that the slices our not well cut and hard to separate and because it's hot you cannot touch it to help and the table is crooked. I just needed a quick bite to eat one evening, and was recommended to come by here since it was right around the corner from my destination. I only came here for a slice, but I left a little shooketh... This is noticeably tasty pizza. The tomato sauce quality is the outstanding winner, but with the fresh basil and cheese also doing their super important parts toward making this beauty come alive. The taste of the thin crust is excellent too: crispy yet not over baked. I don't eat thin crust pizza all that often, so I can't compare with fidelity to other slices I've had in the past. I just know that this slice stood apart from previous experiences. Perhaps my taste buds were hyping themselves up in order to warrant the $4/slice price tag. The oiliness of my slice certainly had me raising an eyebrow before my first bite, too. Like a good New Yorker though, I didn't blot away the oil, and as I've said, the end result was a delectable experience, gobbled up in 3-4 bites. I'm willing to trek back here all the way from Queens to try a whole pizza. By far the best goal oven pizza I have ever had. I think about this pizza at random moments and just really crave to have sometimes - a personal pie with some truffle oil on it - YUM! I had to even buy their frozen pizzas and my own truffle oil just to have at random moments if I needed it! lol - Their other dishes are amazing as well. I buy the frozen table 87 pizza at whole foods but I've eaten at the restaurant and was happy. I mean it's pretty hard to mess up pizza but they have some interesting topping combinations and seemingly fresh ingredients. The wait can be a little long / service not exactly top of the line attentive but I don't always need that. read more
