Nothing went right. After our waiter finally took our order, he served us drinks in paper and plastic cups. He forgot my coffee. When our food arrived, we didn't have napkins or utensils or condiments. The order was wrong. And we had to sit, watching our food cool until at last, a nearby waitress brought us forks to eat it with. For drink refills, I had to take our cups up to the bar and ask the bartender to fill them. In the end, my husband asked our host-waiter to talk to a manager and he informed us he WAS the GM. He shook his head when we complained and said he would take one or two meals off of our bill but "That's just the nature of the industry right now." read more

It was a nice vibe. We sat outside on the patio because the sun was shining. Someone I work with bragged about this place so I said hey why not. My son got the special of the day which was ramen. His broth was bland. I got the chicken and waffles and my chicken was dry as dust. I was hoping it was because we got there at 1 and they close at 3 but I still wasn't impressed at all. This review is a bit overdue, I admit, but I came to Table 33 for a Mother's Day brunch with my mother, sister, and wife. I don't know where to start! I suppose I'll start with location and ambiance. The location is smack dab in downtown Dayton, right across the street from the Schuster Center with easy street parking. I made reservations in advance but there wasn't a wait and I probably didn't need to! The atmosphere was casual but trendy; I didn't feel the need to dress up but it's still a nice restaurant to take someone out for a special occasion. It's a paradox of some sort. My party obviously dressed nicer since it was a special occasion, but we didn't feel overdressed or out of place. It was a neat place to be! However, the kitchen is exposed like a diner and you can watch and smell and are exposed to all of the goodness that comes out of it! Some people would be annoyed by this, but fortunately, I love exposed kitchens but I thought I'd mention it since it knocks off a few points in the bougie department. The service was outstanding! Our server was polite, friendly, and she knew the menu, which I always appreciate since I'm gluten free. The service was prompt and their pineapple mimosas are out of this world! We got an appetizer and entrées with absolutely no complaints; my mom said her salad was one of the best salads she's ever had and I can say the same about my spinach quiche! I recently hosted a corporate breakfast event at Table 33, and it was a huge success! Katie and her team made the planning process easy from start to finish. During the event, the staff was so accommodating and did a wonderful job of anticipating the needs of our attendees. The restaurant itself is super welcoming, and you can definitely feel that community and keeping it local are important to them. The food was FANTASTIC - we had amazing quiche (gluten free and you never in a million years would've guessed), a variety of muffins (GF/vegan, same story...so good), and fruit (displayed beautifully). My only regret is not getting a chance to try more of their menu offerings! We had early dinner at Table 33 for my birthday. I had never been but had heard about it. And what a treat it was!! Everything we had from the cocktails (Rosemary Sour was AWESOME!) to the most delicious brussel sprouts appetizer to the fabulous Carne Adovado Tacos! Finishing up with and Italian Creme Cake. Every bite was so enjoyable! My husband who usually will have critiques had not one complaint. The setting is very open, clean and upbeat. And the staff VERY good! Bravo! My husband and I came to Table 33 after visiting the 2nd street farmers market on Saturday. I had the breakfast sandwich on a croissant with bacon, my husband had the juevos rancheros with sausage. Here are our pros and cons. Pros: -great waiting staff and explanation of the meals and their purpose as restaurant (farm to table) -(mostly) local ingredients -great beverage selection including healthy juice options (husband had the hulk and enjoyed the flavor. The hulk had spinach, and cucumber. -overall meal was very delicious and healthy for you. Hard to find in this in the area and we GREATLY appreciate this as an option for going out to eat for breakfast and lunch. Wish there were more places like this for dinner. Cons: -parking. if you have to park in the garage it is $7, otherwise it's street parking which is hard to find. -sausage did not have the seasoning husband would like. May be better with a chorizo. -husband said the meal was difficult to cut through at times -meal came out a bit colder than we would like. -would like to see a potato as an option possibly for a side if you do not mind the extra calories. Hey, friends with celiacs or gluten sensitivities this rad little brunch spot is catering its menu to you. Five words Gluten free chickens and waffles This menu item is why I came, I had to try it and let me say it does not disappoint. Large portions that left me full for the rest of the day. My partner ordered the burger and was in awe of the detail put into the burger. Not to mention the potato chips cooked in duck fat. Those babies are delightful. We were so please with out food and our server Scout that we came back the next day to try a new dish we had to pass up the day before due to small stomachs. Luckily we were seated with Scout again and ordered the chorizo hash and a gluten free cinnamon blueberry muffin to split. The chorizo hash has just the right mount of heat to wake you up, but the perfect amount of sweet potatoes and goat cheese to put out any flame. Was so happy to see a place for brunch open in downtown Dayton. My family and I finally were going to go out to eat after Covid. I think they may have been a bit rusty on an operational level because the short line took about 40 minutes to get an order. The staff was rushing around uncertain of what they should be doing and there didn't seem to be much guidance from management. It's all understandable from the perspective that they likely have not had in house dining for a long time. The food came out in waves for our 6 person group which was fine with us but I could see others being annoyed. I bought the chicken and waffles which were great. Three of us had the club sandwich, which was very filling, while another had a cheeseburger with fries. The staff was very attentive, checking-in to make sure all drinks were refilled and unused plates were removed. All in all, we had a great dining experience. We ordered several starters to share (all fantastic) and I got the chicken and waffles as my main meal. Although the chicken and waffles are GF, they certainly do not taste like they are, and I would certainly order again. Service was friendly and attentive, and they were willing to tolerate us splitting the check in a somewhat complicated manner. I really wanted to love this place . Allow me to start with the pros . Really cool scenery inside . I dined here during lunch hours on a Friday and it was pretty quiet. The staff was friendly , food arrived shortly after we placed our order , bathrooms were clean , my husband ordered a mule and found it to be just what he needed (+refreshing). The best takeaway from this restaurant was their gluten free blueberry muffin . Warm, moist , & to die for. Now that I've highlighted the good let's move onto the not so good portion of my visit . My husband ordered the tacos and they were bland. The presentation of the food was on point , but it was just pretty and didn't taste good. I ordered the sweet potato hash and the sweet potatoes weren't soft , felt like they needed to cook a little longer . The two eggs i ordered over-hard came out with a light brown glaze and they were rubbery. Our bill was around $50 and the only good thing i got was the blueberry muffin and the mule . The coffee wasn't my favorite either . I really wanted to love this place , but i didn't . I left still hungry and felt like i wasted my money . I think the hostesses name is melanie she has horrible customer service. Ever heard of welcoming a customer, it felt like she was doing me a favor. Upon arrival she told me to go to the bar and someone would help me and my 2 daughters, then I waited 5 mins- all while she helped 3 other customers who arrived after me. First time there. I had been wanting to try this restaurant for a long time. Loved the lighting and the casual decor! The staff was friendly and eager to please. We got the French toast entree and an omelette. The French toast came with no sides. The omelette did have one piece of toast but it was very small and thin. Both entrees were very good. However, we both left saying we were still hungry! The servings are too small. The prices are on the steeper end, especially, since they do not wait on you at the table. For the 2 entrees and 1 soda, it cost close to $40 with the tip. I should add, you order at the counter and someone then brings your food to your table. Came back not Table 33 for a quick lunch while out for an hour from Jury Duty...BIG Mistake!!! Took 10 mins before anyone approached me to take my order. Ordered a Turkey Bacon Club, been waiting 30 mins, sandwich finally came out. Music is fairly loud, if I had anyone dining with me, it would be had to hear them. I was even given recommendations to local bakeries as this place takes pride in supporting the local community I order the breakfast sandwich which takes it over the top with their jam flavor. We chose to visit this fine establishment on Father's Day and aside from the parking, which wasn't great (street), we (Hubby and I) really enjoyed it. I loved all the natural light that poured in from the outside and the modern decor. My favorite part about the experience though was one of the waiters (and gosh I cannot remember his name to safe my life!) He spent a good chunk of his precious time guiding us through the menu and not only did he make great recommendations, he offered variations of the dish to better enjoy it.
