People love this place... I want to, but I don't. I've been here for brunch, dinner, and private events. It always feels like close, but no cigar. The main reason? They're trying too hard and just not getting anything really right. Some things are better than others, but there are just a lot of baffling things going on here. Take the cocktails: they're expensive and just average. Recently I tried a seasonal cocktail, the Smoked Plum Sour. It tasted pretty good but was so filled with plum skin and pulp that it really wasn't very enjoyable. This desperately needed to be strained. Or a salad example: their House Salad with undercooked beats (literally crunchy) and huge pieces of artichoke hearts that obviously came out of a jar or can. The lettuce really needed some attention too as I picked out lots of mushy pieces. You could easily throw a version of this salad together at home and it would be just as good if not better. And an entree example: Adobo Chicken. It isn't bad at all, but it just isn't restaurant quality. I've made a better super easy crockpot version. The "garlic rice" was completely bland except that it was sprinkled with whole (I kid you not, whole) pink peppercorns. I like pepper of all varieties... a lot... I use more than the average person, but this was just absurd even to me. And out of the rice we're sticking four whole bay leaves as a garnish... like what the heck are you supposed to do with whole bay leaves? They weren't used in the preparation... just an amateur hour move. How about some kind of fresh edible herb instead? The burger is good, but the fries are the best part. They serve it with what they call homemade ketchup, but it would be better described as a tomato jam or relish (it's pretty good, but not what you'd expect from something called ketchup. The mezze platter is another complete head scratcher that shouldn't be coming out of a kitchen at a concept restaurant with this price point. I really wish this place lived up to its potential.... but apparently it works for a lot of people. For my money, though, there are better choices in Dayton. read more

The food was not served hot at best it was like warm. We tried a lot of things and the best things were the yogurt parfait and the chocolate chip muffin! We ordered - Salmon Benedict, Biscuit, chocolate chip muffin, yogurt parfait, cinnamon roll, cheese burger with fries, burger with fries. I also tried the special Kentucky Mimosa that has Bourbon in it. (Just fair) When you order a biscuit you get one - which I had asked about so I knew. It was a jalapeño biscuit which we had no idea it would be. It was served dry. I had to ask for better. Our reservation was at 1 and I hadn't eaten all day so yes, I ate it. I wouldn't get it again. The Salmon Benedict - was not hot. The Bernaisse sauce was Luke warm at best. Plus skip the sweet potato home fries. I wouldn't get it again. The two who got the burgers said they had no flavor, but ate their fries. No catsup. No mayo. Served with nothing for the fries. The cinnamon role - also not hot or wArm! Tried Table 33 for the first time tonight and WOW! We split a club sandwich and a burger and both were excellent! The burger was insanely juicy and crispy and the aioli on the club was superb. We enjoyed the fries at the end and they were somehow still hot and crispy and perfect amount of salty. I also enjoyed a very well-crafted cocktail that was near perfection. I'm following my own rule by rating base on food quality only. The breakfast food we ordered were delicious. The lady who waited on us was a delight. The place was very clean and bright. The young blonde hostess was something else. She took one look at my husband and I and she walked us to this tiny table for 2 next to the kitchen (see last picture). Mind you there were plenty of open tables for 4 available and the rest of table for 4 were occupied by 2 couples. It was a Thursday morning, btw, and they just opened up so it's not like the place was packed or busy. Staff was so awesome. Nice, down to earth friendly people. :) Food was excellent. Mixed group of vegans and non. Veggie bowl is a must try. Great flavors and portion. Everything tasted fresh and well balanced. Speciality rum cocktail was delicious. Tasted like a fancy caipirinha! Bummed that soft drinks came in plastic cups especially since they have a bar and glasses available. At least the sugar was eco friendly and not individually packaged. Desserts were great. Family loved the cinnamon bun. I love the banana chocolate muffin which I couldn't believe was also gluten free! We all know vegan and/or GF desserts can be hit or miss and this was a definite hit! Dayton on a Saturday afternoon seemed quite dead. I was excited when we entered Table 33 to see a hip food joint with an aviation theme. Our server was very attentive, formal and kind. I quickly spotted their homemade lemonade and ordered that as a drink while looking over the menu. It was simply delish! They also turn it into a spiked drink with gin if you'd like as well! I wanted the quiche but at the last minute switched to the Sisig when my lunch date pointed out that item. I could not pass up the opportunity for a rice dish! It also had some deliciously seasoned pork and a perfectly fried egg on top. Let me admit something to you, I am an egg snob! I cannot stand hotel eggs made with milk powder or any carton egg that's under $4 a dozen. My husband and I wanted to try something different so we decided to brunch at Table 33 in Dayton. As much as I wanted to like it here I didn't think it was that good! The ambience was nice as well as our server, but the food wasn't anything special. I ordered one of their fresh pressed juices called the Sup Doc. It was made up of carrot, orange, lemon, and ginger. This juice was pretty good and well balanced as far as flavor. It had a good taste. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts as an appetizer before our meal. I love Brussels Sprouts and it was served with garlic cream sauce, toasted Parmesan, and bacon. The combination was very good, however, when they were first served to us they were super cold. Almost like they had been sitting out for hours. I told our server and she took them back but they didn't come back out till after our meal was brought out which was like 20 min later. However, they did take the Brussels off our bill. They also offered us a Blueberry Muffin on the house. The Blueberry Muffin was very good and tasted homemade. It was topped with sugary topping. For brunch I ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and my husband ordered the Chicken & Waffle. I was excited about my dish until it came to the table. The gravy looked like throw up and had a funny taste. The jalapeño Gouda bacon corn biscuit was very good and tasted homemade. However, the gravy needs some work. I tried to not think of throw up while eating.. then I offer my husband a bite and he says "oh no, I'll pass, it looks like throw up". So here I am trying to eat this gravy that looks nasty and taste funny. It tasted like a weird rotel flavor. I can't describe it. It was the worse biscuit and gravy, gravy I have ever had. It was just odd. My husband's Chicken & Waffle was ok. The waffle wasn't anything special and it was bland. The chicken was also bland and wasn't seasoned well. They remade it and it was vey undercooked and gross with American cheese that was supposed to be cheddar. Hubby got a grilled cheese and tomato soup. I have been here a few times and tonight I was severely underwhelmed. We came in after visiting the newly opened Dayton Arcade for Holly Days with the family. We were the only patrons, beside one guy at the bar. First, the guy at the register where you ordered was rather rude, pointing at a sign instead of answering my question about the menu. Sorry to bug you with our business, bud. The food was just not that good. I got a goat cheese and cheddar grilled cheese and it came on a focaccia bread. There was barely any cheese on it, and only a tiny bit of goat cheese. It was basically a loaf of focaccia with the hint of cheese. No side either, just a sandwich. Delicious! Came here for breakfast and had blueberry pancakes (special), pancakes with lemon curd, French toast, biscuits and gravy... Everything was delicious, lots of flavor and seasoned perfectly. I have never had biscuits and gravy out that didn't require some level additional seasoning- theirs is perfect as is. French toast is as decidant as they come. I would have left zero stars if I could. And I should have typed out this review earlier. I do not eat beef and had never had beef in my life. It is a pretty strict dietary restriction for me. I was very excited to see vegan burgers (I think it was called "unbeetable burgers") on their menu. After the waitress brought me the burger, the patty looked like beef. So I called the waitress and double-checked with her if it was a vegan burger. She told me, "yes, we only serve vegan burgers." So I took a couple bites. After 10 minutes, she came back with a big smile, telling me, "sorry, it was a normal beef burger." Her attitude was like, "this is not a big deal." Because of her, I broke my lifelong dietary restrictions. The manager did come to apologize. My husband and I were both distraught, leaving the restaurant immediately. On the way out, the waitress showed no remorse and told us, "see you next time." It took me more than 3 years to be able to write this review. But finally, I can type the whole thing out without feeling the guilt of breaking my dietary restrictions. read more

This is a great modern place to go for breakfast with wonderful barista made coffee and lunch in downtown Dayton, it is one of the newer restaurants in town. They have been really successful serving delicious dishes for breakfast and lunch and now offer the same menu on selected evenings. Plans are to add more nights and then start expanding the evening menu. The hamburger I had was worth every one of five stars, the flavor was excellent, possibly one of the best burgers I have ever tasted, paired with a delicious glass of microbrew. The staff were pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable! What a cute place is downtown Dayton... we were our and about and the lovely Mrs stated she saw this eatery on one of her social feeds so she decided we should be adventurous and give it a try. I got the burger and she ordered the club 33. Wish I knew why it's called Table 33 but walked around and found no clues? The place was pretty much empty when we got there around 545p, I hope it picks up after we had left. The burger was pretty good, a bit dry for me but seems to be the standard for brioche around these parts. The lovely Mrs and her Club 33 that was waaay better than my burger. The sandwiches are $13 for burger and $14 for Club and do not include sides. Fries are $4 and albeit an add they were pretty darn tasty. So for $39 including the tip, we got a really good sandwich and fries, I will settle and call it an okay burger and two waters. Folks working here are nice but rarely seen. Not too sure what they are doing, as it was just a total of five customers... this is the quote from the owner, Me. Carrol; "MORE THAN FOOD, WE'RE PASSIONATE ABOUT PEOPLE AND LIFE. There was maybe 1 or 2 grapes in the salad and I think it would have been better if they added a few more just to give it more of a sweet tang. Also was a bit pricey. I paid $13 for a tea and salad. This is one of my favorite spots in Dayton. To be honest, it's difficult to order anything else other than the brussel sprout tacos, because they're so darn good! Today, we both went off of the specials menu: Crab Benedict and Vegan Tofu Hash (neither one of us is a vegan, we just really like tofu). The Crab Benedict was wonderfully balanced in flavor and perfectly portioned. (We visited right before going on a hike). The Tofu Hash was good (as reported by the boyfriend) but my dish was the favorite of the two. I still love the tacos most of all though! Service here is always top notch. Everyone, from the greeters to the servers, is always friendly and engaging. The restaurant decor is nice and the atmosphere reminds me of one of my favorite cafes in Atlanta.
