Your hot pot comes out with its own burner and is chock full of things like tofu, crispy tofu skin, vermicelli, corn, cabbage, beef, etc. I will say that this was entirely too much food for myself, and if I went back to a place like this, I'd def think about sharing with someone. The dumplings were good, the broth was rich, and the beef was thinly sliced. Service was great. Our server came over multiple times to check on us, refill our drinks, etc.

We usually ask to skip the spam, but everything else in the soup, at least one person in it family will eat. Quail egg, fried tofu, chicken thigh, green leeks, peanuts, sliced beef, thin tofu sheets (and I'm probably missing a few ingredients!) 2. Chicken Cutlet with meat sauce over rice: if we are getting at least two items, this is for sure one of them. Excellent flavor on the peppery batter on the juicy chicken and the meat sauce and pickled veggies are an excellent combination. 3. Zha Jiang Mien: First time trying it. Two of us liked it. May get, again, next time. We usually prefer the blacker Korean style sauce, but this was pretty good, too. 4. Beef roll: think thinly sliced beef with fresh veggies rolled up in an onion pancake. I went from a thin top to a medium weight sweater. We arrived in Davis I grabbed my jacket to pair with my sweater. Today was a day spent exploring Davis to see the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA). What a great Conference. We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. A sandwich board was on the sidewalk for Davis Noodle CIty, the exact place we were looking for. The little Noodle Shop in the alley. We weaved through the other businesses, past the dumpling restaurant, past the outdoor seating and to the front door of the Davis Noodle City Restaurant. The out door seating looked really welcoming, but it was chilly out so we opted for eating inside with the other table that was occupied. There were 3 parties eating outside when we arrived. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.

I ordered the Unagi Don and the eel was cooked perfectly; it was so tender and the glaze was spot on. I also tried the Katsu Curry, and I was actually surprised by how crispy the chicken stayed even after the drive home. The curry sauce was rich and had such a great flavor. I couldn't resist getting some boba too. I went with the taro and classic milk tea, and the pearls were exactly the right amount of chewy. Also, I have to mention the little duck mascot on the cups. I think it's the cutest thing ever. I'll definitely be making this a regular spot for when I want a solid meal!

We got their house chow mein waterlogged and very flavorless. Then we got The spicy wontons with some sort of mystery meat on the inside. We both spit up those because they were so disgusting huge waste of money. We were also informed that their food is very frozen when we asked for the orange chicken. Most of the food taste like it's been frozen. I'm the kind of person when I go to a restaurant I always eat my leftovers later. Nothing was worth keeping later cause it was all disgusting. We barely ate enough of the chow mein to make a satisfied because it was so gross. The female was snappy at everybody. The guy was fine. Their machine out front is horrible to use. It's frustrating and it keeps kicking you out of the item when you try to order.. It doesn't load fast enough so you can't see any of the images. It's absolutely terrible. Then to top it off when we tried to pay, it wouldn't let us it kept getting stuck over and over we had to actually ask them to ring us up through the register. Now for the Boba, we got the peppermint tea, which is fine and we got the taro milk tea, which is actually really really good. I would definitely come back for the drinks. Now the actual Boba itself is very hard and nasty clearly not freshly made. Keep that in mind when you order the Boba.
