Honestly, T-Mobile has always had FAR better customer service than the three letter Carrier I came from. I'd spent years stuck with that crap carrier due to my ex being a first responder, so he had to be on THAT network. But my GOD I had so many BAD experiences there. I stopped in because my previous carrier experience was so bad that I do NOT trust that anything is done right or the first time. I had been in about a week prior because I bought a new iphone at Apple and needed it activated. And my # had been suspended because I'm a FUN person and drank too much Tequila, flipped our kayak at Lost Lake and lost two iphones. Yes ma'am two. Not just one. HA!! Well not only was what I asked done the first time but it's SO easy to get help there it's weird to me. I got so used to the awful service and experience I had that it's hard to believe you CAN in fact get good service. Just follow the magenta. It's my favorite color anyway. Maybe that says something. Three stars for their methods of getting you to sign up. They promised a third line free AND 20% off. After we received the first bill, we went back in for them to explain downs things and they said "Oops sorry, that was wrong, we can't do that." We can only do one, third line free OR 20% off. Could have been an honest mistake but it's not how we felt. Got us to try home internet for free. Ended up getting charged immediately $30. Tried to take the Modem back to the store but they couldn't take it. Have to send back via ups and get a refund next month for the $30. Internet works great right next to the modem but doesn't work on the other side of the house. The store is staffed well. When you walk in, they are all staring at their phones and chatting it up. Then they help you out pretty quick. Instead of chatting and social media surfing, they should learn more about the different plans and phone options. For the amount of time I spent in the store observing, there's one person that is the subject matter expert. People keep going to him for advice but I never saw anyone attempt to learn the things on their own. Once the store is cleared out of customers, they go back to bunching together and staring at their phones swiping up with their thumbs. We switched to T-Mobile because our Verizon service was terrible. Everyone we know that has T-Mobile like the service. After a week, it's true. We have the same experience. read more

Best t mobile experience ever for me. Went in 2 days ago, a dude Lee I believe helped me at first and diagnosed my problem. Me not being the main name on my T mobile account. After I fix that I came back and a gentleman by the name of Neftali helped me and was absolutely 100% professional and efficient and knowledgeable. If I could give a half a star I would. We were with Sprint for 14 years. Once T Mobile bought out Sprint our service only works 40 percent of the time. And when you call customer service they say you have perfect service in your area. Well I can't make calls in my home, I cant even use my phone at work and it doesn't work while in my car. It's not the phones because we just got all new phones before T Mobile bought Sprint. And the phones worked great with Sprint. I would never recommend T Mobile to anyone. My five star rating is dedicated to Neftali Rodriquez who was beyond kind, knowledgable and extremely skilled at de-escalation. I went into the T-Mobile in Washington Square during a time of stress. I was traveling tbt following day and needed to unlock my phone to be able to use outside of the country. Not only did he educate me on the unlock process but he also willingly assisted me do a full transfer from my old phone to the new phone. Coming into the store I was already irritated by the process and misdirected my anger towards the first rep that tried to help me. He quickly intervene and took charge in a matter that made the customer and his colleague heard. lol I'm so impressed. Didn't think I would be able to complete a transaction today but kindness goes such a long way. I'm clueless when it comes to data and technology but the way Neftali explained the process assured me and helped me understand. I feel confident that my data is fully backed up Thank you. We stopped into T-Mobile just before Christmas while doing some shopping to inquire about what our real cost would be to switch from two lines on Verizon to four lines on T-Mobile. Jason made what could have been a very confusing transaction as simple as possible to understand give it all there expenses, credits, trade-in requirements, timeline in order to best understand what our monthly bill would be. We had switched from Verizon to T-Mobile once before with the coverage where we lived that time was not very good so we eventually switched back. This time around I can't foresee switching back. Upgrading from 2 to 4 lines and from a limited data plan to an unlimited one, (and discounted Netflix to boot!) is going to save us about $50 a month and allowed us to get my daughter her first iPhone - she's stoked! I hope this holds true when it's time to upgrade phones in a couple years :) Thanks Jason & T-Mobile! read more

This is for the T-Mobile in Washington Square Mall. I ended up here after an exhausting time at the Apple store. It's the super busy holiday season and I was looking for a good deal on an iPhone. We already have some older ones and I've seen rebate offers. Long story short, T-Mobile offers a higher rebate for trading in your old iPhone towards a new iPhone. HOWEVER, it is a monthly credit applied to the bill not upfront like Apple. I was initially helped by Luke who was super nice, informed and sweet. He is also the manager so I wouldn't expect anything less but we shared quite a few laughs which made the lengthy visit go by faster. Then another cool guy "Nefty" (Not the correct spelling at all!) finished up everything for us. These two are awesome and I definitely feel like I made the right choice. Rudy truly saved me today! Earlier today I went to the Apple geniuses to get my phone replaced because it had a lens broken and I was getting ready to head to Bali first thing in the morning and wanted to be able to take quality pictures. When I replace my phone at the genius store they failed to tell me that I would need a new Sim card in order for it to work. I had a work meeting I had to get to so I went home to back it up there and spent about two hours before I was in full panic mode and decided to go back to the genius store. When I got there they told me that my Sim card was not working and that I needed to go to T-Mobile to get a new Sim card or an e-card. I was a little bit frustrated and now in a full panic attack almost in tears because I would not have switched the phones out had I known this would be an issue. My phone account is under my son's name and I lost his phone number when I switched phones. Rudy help me get into my iCloud contacts, something that the Apple geniuses did not offer, and help me find the phone numbers I needed to gain access to the account. He then got me a new Sim card and walk me through restoring my phone he spent about 30 minutes helping me and calming me down which is really what I needed. I am truly not one to panic so at this point I was in unknown territory but Rudy stay calm and kept smiling and help me through the whole thing. He asked me questions about my trip to call me down and really just went above and beyond for me and if I could have tipped him I would have! I don't know if he is a supervisor or manager or just an associate but she definitely gives T-Mobile a great reputation in my book! This guy deserves a raise he knew more about it than the Apple geniuses and I just can't tell you how grateful I am for him. i have been reflecting on my experience at this tmobile in washington square, and honestly i wouldnt come here again... 1) worker i was working with was so convinced on trying to get me to upgrade to a new phone... first you cant force me, and i do not owe you an explanation. ive had my phone for 4 years and i am over do for an upgrade but i dont want one. and when i came in i told them im not interested in an upgrade right now i would just like to get a new line / apple watch. they really asked me why multiple times as if my answer didnt suffice after i said i wasnt interested and they shut me down and tried to fricking mansplain to me this new cool deal... embarrassing. 2) we move thru the process. and at the final stage of purchase, they dont offer me the opportunity to set the watch myself and i know its because im a woman and i wouldnt know how to on my own, and they just wanted me in the store to see if they could sell me anything else. at other stores ive bought apple watches and walked rightout with no setup needed cus i can do it on my own.. but this guy was so adament about doing it for me and i played along to see how foul it would be. i spent 30-45 mins post purchase setting it up. they kept saying well hold on let me do it, like wth ?! i never asked you to. staff in store were nice and greeted others well. but the mission to sell and upgrade people by twisting an arm is so unnecessary. i literally saw the report sheet that showed who and how many upgrades per staff. i also saw the notes that said increase upgrades for all who walk thru the door. so this just confirmed it all overall: i was v annoyed. remarks and experience was definitely sexist ... im not coming here again. stop trying to shut people down when they say they aren't interested in something.. and dont try to follow up and contact me im good read more

After being a customer with AT&T for over 10 years, I made the tough decision to switch carriers to T-Mobile after realizing I was overpaying for my services for quite some time. With the killer deals and promos T-Mobile was offering, I felt like a fool if I didn't make the switch. Now I'm thinking that their marketing strategy deployed was a scam and I'm slowly starting to think I made a mistake. This review is based off the customer service experience I recently had at this store. 2 weeks into my contract, I noticed some weird items show up on my bill that I wanted to get fixed right away. I decided to go to the location at Washington Square. Upon entering the store, I was greeted by who I think was the manager who asked me what I needed help with that day. I told her I had some questions about my plan and bill. She allowed me to start explaining in more detail what exactly I was questioning only to cut me off mid-sentence to defer me to her associate, Kyle. OK... I was only in the middle of explaining myself but that felt weird. Then comes Kyle... Asks me to start re-explaining my story and pulling up my account info. Basically T-Mobile opened up an extra third line on my account when I don't need 3... I need 2. I want to close the third line. Maybe I took this the wrong way but his body language and verbal responses gave me the impression that he didn't care. He flat out told me I needed to call their customer service and have them close it for me. No other options. Excuse me? Then what's the point of me driving all the way here to have you guys tell me what you can't do for me. Standard customer service would provide me options of what you CAN do for me. He then pursued to tell me that because my third line was under their "3 for 100" promotion I'm essentially paying the same amount. I might as well keep it open. I may be charged a small fee for having the line open but it will even out with credits on my account in my 2nd or 3rd billing cycle. Well I don't care about having a third line whatsoever and I especially don't want to be charged additional fees for having it. He then started calculating my bill in front of me, doing math, throwing numbers all over the place. Impressive math skills-- but I am NOT following you. I told him straight up he went too fast for me and I didn't comprehend it. Not to mention, the lady who first helped me was standing there listening to the entire conversation in which I assumed she was maybe training him and making sure he is saying the right thing. That is my assumption, but maybe tell your customers what you're doing instead of making it feel like you're eavesdropping into the conversation. Overall, I left the store feeling like these associates don't care for me and it's ok to talk down to your customers who don't understanding your ever-changing promotional deals. I left your store feeling inferior and that's not OK. By the way... I went to AT&T afterwards to make sure everything was good on closing my account with them and their customer service was STELLAR. I felt like a valued customer where they took care of me, even though I was a departing customer. read more

Seriously??! Is that how customer service rep. suppose to treat their customers that way? ERR!!!! I am so frustrated with T-mobile and what can I do about it? I have been using T-mobile for 9 years. It's fine. It's cheaper, yes I know. But, a month ago I went into the store and have an upgrades on the old crappy phones that my family used for years. They changed my plan rate without telling me, charged my family extra $10 per month. On top of that, they over charged us $5 on each additional line, plus messed up on our web plan. Not only we were experiencing problems with our plan rate. Our text message plan got cancel out of nowhere (their mistakes???!), and they started charging us on each text message we sent. Luckily, I was checking my account on the internet and found out before they sent us the bill of that month. So I called t-mo again and the rep. on the phone told me that he was going to fix it. I waited on a day and that didn't happened. So, I called again and had trouble speaking to the rep. because he didn't understand my English? So, I had to do it on "live chat"? Then after talking, calling, chatting for days, I finally got it corrected. And now, I am still trying to fix my plan rate that got over-charge and I am very unsatisfied with how they treated me and how they were dealing with my account problems. I didn't even cost that problems in the first place, their rep. made a mistake on our account!!!!!!! Wasted my time and now I'm still stuck with their contract. Poor customer service! I would like to of given less than 1 star if I could have. My boyfriend was a manager a few years ago at a different location and he stays up on the latest phones, things they offer etc. Before we got there we had spoken to a customer rep over the phone who said she'd put notes in the comp. for when we went into the store to trade our phones we wouldn't be charged for a restalling fee because of something they hadn't notify us on their end before we had gotten our recent phones at the time. So, all we were gonna do was go into the store and get different phones. We had barely had ours for less than a week. When we got to the store we told them the new phones we wanted. They made it like it was "aww jolly". We told them we spoke with someone over the phone, she had left a note in the computer. The guy started setting our new phones up so quick that I wasn't even sure he was paying any attention to what we were saying. When he was pretty much done he said there weren't a manager on site and they wouldn't be able to over-write whatever they need to to give us the phones without charging us. By then my boyfriend was already irritated so we just ended up paying an extra $100 for the phones and left. They wanted us to come another day to see what they could do. Seriously, why would I go back to the store when they made two mistakes already. read more

He went above and beyond by calling me and letting me know that the network was down to complete my transaction as I was just on my way to get my daughter from college to make the billing swap. He saved me lots of time and we were still able to do it the next day as he let me know when the network was back up. Thanks T-mobile for hiring some great team members. Wow TMO Washington Square, you went from 2 stars back in 2010, down to 1 in 2016. That's not the right direction.... I had a poor experience with MIGUEL on more than one occasion. The first one, I let it go, I didn't review it. But a second time is too much and I will share the details of both..... So in 2015 I came in because I lost 1400 photos. How? It happened immediately after a mandated Tmobile/Samsung update, I am not certain if it was Tmo or Samsungs update, but it was one of them. I explained this to MIGUEL. He said, "not possible, you deleted them." No, I said, they were there before the update happened. I didn't even authorize it, in fact, my phone did it on its own. While it was happening, it gave a warning to not turn on/off your phone during the update. I can be paranoid so I didn't even touch my phone at all. When it was over and my home page was on, I noticed the photos were all gone. MIGUEL kept insisting that what I was saying was impossible. He even called me delusional, but he couldn't pronounce the word. I asked him for third party apps that could maybe help, but he actually laughed out loud. Sure it was my fault for not backing things up, but there should be responsibility from Tmo or Samsung for deleting photos after an update. Fast forward to now and I am in there again. He actually offers to help me. There were 5 employees and no customers. I have this bad feeling when I see him, but I didn't place him till I went home and read my draft in my email of my experience with him last year, which I never posted. I tell him my previous phone died and is in the shop, so now i am needing some assistance with my temp phone. I tell him I signed into gmail but can't sign into google accounts. It tells me my password is wrong though it is not, and I can't log in as new either. He tells me to wait till my old phone is back. I explain I don't know if the guy will be able to fix my phone and I want to sign in. "No, just wait till you get the old phone back he tells me." Why? OK so I go on to the next topic. I begin to say that this new phone has an odd charging port like no other I ever saw. He interrupts and says "you are rambling, do you even have a question?" My question was about to lead to buying a charger but wow. Just. Wow. I called him out. "I am rambling?!" I didn't yell but I raised my voice. The entire time before that he was looking everywhere but me nor my phone. I said "there isn't even a line, what is your rush?" He repeated that I was rambling. I got upset, and he said "no, I said WE are rambling." He kept repeating that he meant to say "WE are rambling." Firstly, he did not say WE, and secondly, how does that make it better? I was told he was an assistant manager and even manager at 3 other cellular stores. Now a year at Tmo and he is still an associate. That tells you something considering the huge turn over of both employees and management. But what I want to know is, why is he still there at all when he is so incredibly rude, disrespectful and not helpful at all? read more

1/5/'20 I bought a Galaxy S10 & iPhone 11 from T-Mobile & had them shipped to my house. 1/8/'20 about 6pm I went into the Washington Square store. There were 3 people working & no other customers. I asked Eddie to help my move files from old to new phone. He asked if I paid $20? That was not part of the deal I got. He said he can move the sim card (I know how to do that) & I can use an app to move files. I left very angry & called customer service. The representative I spoke to was appalled. He said they should've helped me. He had me go back in to get employees named & in again to get manager's name so he could contact them. He also sent me return labels so I can return new phones, cancel service & go to another company. I'm furious & absolutely disgusted with his lack of customer service & snarkyness. I've had a lot of phones in all the years I've been with T-Mobile & never had a problem getting help transferring stuff. I came to work out a longstanding complicated phone issue the many people have failed in the attempt to resolve. Taylor was my customer service rep and she was incredible!- Knowledgeable, fast, and pleasant. Each new layer of problem did not set her back. She figured out each blockage, got help when needed, and plowed ahead. I was there for aprox 1.5hrs but it was not frustrating as I felt I was in capable hands. In the end I walked out with a fully functioning phone for the first time in months! Not only that but all my photos, texts, etc were backed up and safe. Thumbs up to the quality and helpful attitude of all the staff I encountered on my visit. read more

We just finished with Miguel, who was working the T-Mobile kiosk in Washington Square. We had 5 phones lines that we were interested in upgrading to smartphones. After walking around to the different wireless companies in the Square, we decided to go with T-Mobile. Miguel was so very helpful and answered all of our questions fully. Not only that but he was quite patient with us old folks that had no idea what we were doing, and stayed late to make sure all of our needs were met. We were concerned about changing the carrier we have been with for years but Miguel has made us feel great about our decision. i went in here to do a jump upgrade for my girlfriends line and ended up getting a new phone myself and a watch. My sales person was Ricky and i recommend anyone that wants to go to t mobile to come here and work with Ricky. He was very knowledgeable and did not try to sell me anything that I did not want. I would like to start with saying that I am not surpised by the bad reviews on this T-Mobile location, I have never been so disrespected by a manger in my life. The assistant manager, Steve Hebert, sold me two defective phones and when I went back in, after already trouble shooting again with the customer care center and being told I needed to go back to the store again to exchange the phone a third time, Mr. Hebert refused to take the phone back and asked what I expected when I paid $100 for a phone and not $600. He then proceeded to tell me that he wouldn't exchange it and I said ok I will be back. I came back and asked for his name while the employees surrounding him discussed the situation that had just happened and he refused to give me his name. Only after I said I would call corporate did he snatch his card and shove it at me, saying "if you don't want to listen to me, get out of my store." Pointing and I guess attempting to embarrass me infront of the other customers and employees He proceeded to say I was immature and belligerent. I will never return to this store, I have never been so disrespected by anyone at a store especially a manager. I can't imagine how that man even still has a job behaving that way, entirely incapable of dealing with customers and lacking in basic management skills. If you are a T-Mobile paying customer, please take your time and money to another location, you will recieve extremely poor customer service here, I feel bad for anyone else that has to deal with management this awful.
