He then took time to come outside with me and show me how to plug my phone into my rather old sound system (you cannot use CarPlay with a cord) and how to make the nav system work so that it played directions over my car speakers without interfering with the blue tooth connection to my hearing aids. While there, he diagnosed a problem I was having with my laptop and showed me how to bring it back on line.. It was an operator error so no repair was needed and no charge was made. He listened patiently to our our sad shameful confession that it wasn't backed up nor signed into an Apple ID, understood with great empathy our worry about potentially losing all the great cat pics & videos we had on it, and discussed magical ways he could extract them if we couldn't figure out how to transfer them ourselves after he fixed the battery! He was great at explaining all the steps we needed to take, without overwhelming us. That's a priceless skill!
