What is 63 it's a little bit a criminal that my salad ends up being like $25 every time, but I do get two meals out of it. I like to say that this location is nice because it's not in the loop so people that are working from home can you come here and it's not too busy. My only complaint is sometimes if you do order from the mobile app the portions are much smaller. I always get the modified Shroomami and I do quinoa instead of the purple rice. The river rice isn't bad, but sometimes it's a little bit overcooked and soggy. It does depend on what time of day you go to this location how fresh everything is, so if you care about that, I would go sooner than later. To save myself some money, sometimes I bring my own tomatoes from home, so it doesn't count as a topping. But, overall, I do like this location compared to most! read more

As a frequent Sweetgreen customer who comes in several times a month, I thought to myself last night, I'm feeling a little adventurous. I'm going to try something different from my standard go-to Harvest salad. Now, I know how these stories usually play out, and this one was no exception. But I ignored my internal red warning lights and went ahead and ordered the new Niçoise salad anyway. Wow, Sweetgreen. You definitely gave me different. As the employee was adding dressing to my salad, I mentioned that it came with tuna. She told me the tuna would be added separately at the end. Okay, no problem. Imagine my surprise when, at the end, she turned around, grabbed a box containing a tin of tuna, and handed it to me. Unopened. For me to take home, untin, and add to my own salad. All for the lovely price of approximately $20. What in the world? The consumer adds their own tuna now? Is the price not high enough, so we've moved on to a little DIY manual labor as well? Should I have clocked in before leaving? In my shock, I told the employee that I would never be ordering this again. I understood, of course, that this wasn't her fault. She was simply the messenger delivering the boxed tuna with a straight face. But Sweetgreen's marketing team? Pardon the pun, but you really missed the boat on this one. Were you out to lunch fishing when this idea was approved? Did your finance team not advise you on the cost of lost customers/sales? And nowhere before ordering was there any indication that the "tuna" accompanying this salad would arrive as an unopened tin in a box for the customer to deal with themselves. That seems like a fairly relevant detail. While I can't get back the time or $20 I spent learning this lesson, I can at least make sure you don't waste yours on something that will undoubtedly leave you feeling seriously let down. If you want a Harvest salad, go to Sweetgreen. If you want tuna, go to the Whole Foods deli. If you want to spend $20 and still have to open and add your own tin of tuna... They specialize in "bowls" - choose your base (quinoa, salad greens, wild rice, etc.), choose your protein (steak, salmon, chicken, tofu), chose your toppings, and then choose your sauce. Too many choices? They have a number of bowls you can choose from that don't require any other decisions (though you can still substitute items if you choose). The set-up is like Subway, Chipotle or Panda Express where you walk the line while your server builds your meal one station at a time. Our server was great both days we were there. It didn't feel awkward at all ordering there for the first time. It's all pretty intuitive and convenient. We were in and out of there in a different and took our meals to go. Had Sweetgreen for dinner in Chicago and tried the Pear Salad and Elote Bowl--both were surprisingly satisfying. The Pear Salad was super refreshing--sweet pears, tangy dressing, and just the right crunch. Felt light but still filling. I got the Fish Taco for about $20 and it was solid. The ingredients were fresh and tasty! One downside is the food presents as healthy (and it is), but the food options are still pretty high in Carbohydrates (BUT you could always sub the carbs out or get half carbs). Furthermore, the salmon that came with my meal was a bit dry. Overall, the stores are clean and well laid out. The staff is friendly and the meals are healthy compared to the fast-casual peer group. The menu is a bit overwhelming, especially the create your own- so I decided to stick to a specific offering instead of creating one myself. Everything was fresh, and the bbq and ranch were delicious mixed together. I appreciated that they gave me extra of both as well. I do wish the cilantro had been minced or in smaller bites- there were full on stems with lots of leaves so I ended up picking most out since I like cilantro, but not when there's huge amounts of it. We ordered the Cashew Pesto Sweet Potatoes and OMG you must try these. I will be dreaming of these until my next sweetgreen. My friend ordered the Harvest Bowl and she loved it. I created my own salad with arugula, spring mix, carrots, onion, tomato, crispy rice and a few dressings. I loveeeed the crispy rice. Our favorite of the dressings we tried was the Green Goddess Ranch -- it is to die for. We also ordered 2 sides of bread, and 2 sides of rosemary focaccia, but sadly since it was near the end of their night, there was only one bread included in our order. The staff did leave a note apologizing, its just too bad since thats part of the reason we ordered. That being said -- the focaccia was AMAZING. After visiting/moving to Chicago I've been dying to try Sweet Green! I LOVE a good salad bar especially in the warmer months. It's been hard convincing my husband to eat here with all the yummy carb foods in Chicago but finally last night I was able to convince him to get Salads delivered. Sweet green is being very generous and offering FREE delivery through their app! So our two create your own salads came to $30 with delivery and taxes. When my salad arrived I thought it looked pretty small and sad with barely any toppings and like 10 pieces of lettuce. It took me a good 3 minutes to realize they had forgot my chicken. I ordered a create your own with literally only 3 toppings. Chicken, cucumbers and sweet potatoes. While I understand we are in a pandemic and I shouldn't complain, I'd just simply like to remind people to SLOW down. With only three toppings it should have been very easy to get this right. My dinner was ruined and I was very hungry and bummed. When I tried to call of course they were closed but fortunately they have a cool text system where they text you! I received a $15 credit for my next order from sweet green. I will be trying them again with my credit, just don't think I can convince my husband to eat here again. read more
