Extremely disappointing customer service. I've never dealt with a company that makes resolving a simple issue so unnecessarily difficult. The customer service team was unhelpful, frustrating to communicate with, and seemed more focused on passing the issue along than actually resolving it. I like Just Salad, but the way they handle customer concerns is enough to make me reconsider ordering from them. Customers shouldn't have to jump through hoops just to get basic help. At what point does a salad stop being a salad, and start becoming legally eligible to be classified as rabbit food? I don't have a good answer, except to say this: wherever that line is, I felt as though Just Salad crossed it. All this, with a price point greater than 5lbs of 'actual' rabbit food. I'd ordered a Maple Crispy Chicken Salad. I feel deceived by the photo on the menu, for it felt as though it were mostly spinach and arugula, with everything else being as if an afterthought. The cheddar, almonds, cranberries, corn, and carrots were in amounts too small to offer a balance or contrast to the greens. Meanwhile, the amount of chicken was straight-up laughable. It felt like a little treasure hunt for a little protein! Now, drumroll please... A bowl of mostly greens and a meager amount of extras for right around $15 before tax... eep! Severely overpriced if you ask me. I will give them points for the ingredients being fresh, and not seeming like they'd been sitting out for too long. I'd also like to give a shoutout for the fast service, though to be fair I did stop in just before the lunch rush. With all of this, I would ordinarily award two stars. However, a month or so again had a Spicy Chicken Caesar Wrap, which didn't suffer from my qualms with the salad. This one was well balanced, and not simply greens in a tortilla. While I can safely call myself a salad girl, I was on the search for a wrap since I needed to eat while on the go at work. Luckily, Just Salad offers a vegan chick'n wrap that was perfect! Crunchy pieces of vegan chicken packed with fresh veggies and topped with a tangy Chipotle sauce. Everything was mixed and wrapped well so there were no issues enjoying it during my event. I only wish that there was a way to toast the wrap since that would have made it extra good. I got the hot honey harvest salad through Grubhub. They forgot to put apples, so I was a bit disappointed about that. I buy a lot of salads through Grubhub places for lunch and try new ones, and this was probably the smallest portion I've gotten. Here you'll find customized salads, wraps and smoothies (aka my dream). When I say customized, let me tell ya, you can literally make anything you want, or make alterations on an existing menu item. Most recently, I oped for the Thai Chicken Crunch salad and it was a delight. The romaine was extra crispy, and all of the toppings paired well together: roasted chicken, sliced carrots and cucumbers, fresh cilantro, shredded cabbage, and wonton strips. Oh and let's not forget the best part, which is the spicy Thai peanut dressing + squeezed lime. The whole thing was very light, refreshing, and tasty! Also, they have drink options that I love (but are often hard to find), like the Poppi prebiotic soda. I went with watermelon flavor and it was great. The staff here are immensely fast, like it's no joke. If you approach the restaurant and think "oh that line is long," fear not! Because they are so, so speedy. Definitely pay close attention to the complaints regarding them messing up your order. I placed an online order and got to the restaurant around 45 minutes later due to unexpected traffic. They didn't seem to know where my order was and acted as though I was not telling the truth when I said that I placed the order around 45 mins earlier. I was offering this information for context and certainly did not expect to be challenged about it. I proceeded to show the order pick up time as compared to the current time. They offered no apology or accepted any accountability for taking payment for an order and then expecting me to come in and wait for them to figure out what they did with it , all while being rather confrontational and not helpful. The customer service is beyond unacceptable. I would not have been as bothered if they had simply apologized and fixed the issue. If they can't get the basic processing of your order done properly, how can you expect them to make your order correctly? And if they can't accept accountability for poor service, how can they plan to improve for the next customer? Do yourself a favor and stay away. Rather than deal with this, I would just go to McDonalds. read more

I built my own warm bowl with the broccoli/cauliflower rice, oven-roasted chicken, golden beets, balsamic mushrooms, avocado, cucumber, roasted sweet potatoes, and the spicy turmeric tahini sauce on the side. The broccoli/cauliflower rice is a MUST (so good) and I loved this dressing. I ordered online and it said the expected wait time was 20 minutes, but it was ready to go in probably 10 or less. I love the sustainability aspect of this company too with compostable materials! The ONLY reason this isn't getting a 5 star review is because the cost of my bowl was $15.50 after tax (a little pricey imo), and I felt like it wasn't big enough of a portion when compared to Sweetgreen's bowls. read more

As a Californian, I have to say that I am jealous of Chicagoans for having this awesome place for lunch all over the place. You can build your own salad, Subway style, or pick one of their pre-arranged salads. They even have some quick take-away options. I had the Chicken Shawarma Salad - for $11.50, it was a generous bowl of chopped romaine and shredded red cabbage, lots of chicken shawarma chunks (that were warm), feta cheese, chickpeas, Kalamata olives and cucumbers in a creamy yogurt herb dressing. It was protein packed, super fresh and absolutely delicious. While my salad wasn't exactly tossed, I could get the good stuff from the middle and mix it with the greens. The staff is efficient, and there are plenty of them. They are definitely working on getting people through the door. They aren't the friendliest group of gals, but they get the job done. I sent the following message to Just Salad customer service a few weeks back: "They were out of the Daring chicken today, so they offered another protein. I don't eat meat so I changed course completely and ordered a different salad. The staff member & manager both apologized. I've seen the manager there before. She's always helping the employees out and offers smiles to customers. We shared a laugh about something further on down the line. By that point I had decided I would send this message. Then the employee told me my salad was comped - nice! This is the second or third time I've been pleasantly surprised when visiting that location, aside from getting a well-made salad with fresh ingredients. I'm convinced that the manager is helping the place run like a well-oiled machine (even if the Daring chicken occasionally runs out during the lunch rush), and for that, she should be lauded." Everyone at this location is super friendly yet efficient. I recognize that can be a challenge when there so many people coming through at lunch time. Even when I order a MealPal, they jump right to it if it isn't already made. They also offer promos if you purchase or bring back one of their bowls, so they're saving the earth as well as keeping their customers healthy. Sure, $10-12 for a salad with tax is a bit steep, but I'm happy to pay a little more for healthy & sustainable eating on top of excellent service.
