Trivia: what do you call a Bretzel bun sandwich without the mustard? One mayo-soggy sandwich with meager proportions of deli grade meat and cheese. The redeeming quality is the locally sourced arugula and mighty vines tomatoes were plentiful. Underwhelming = 2 star review. Here's the thing: If you are a "professional sandwich maker" for a living and the order was to hold the mayo, substitute extra mustard then this is exactly what one expects for an $11 sandwich. Had I not placed the order to go and walked 6-blocks I would have said something before my first bite!

    Everyone loves sandwiches.

The writer Henry Miller once said "You can travel 50,000 miles in America without once tasting a good piece of bread." I beg to differ. I just need to travel a few stops on the Brown Line and I'm at Hannah's Bretzel. Their bread, and the fillings between the bread, changed my mind about sandwiches. My favorites are the Thanksgiving 365 and the Italian Bresaola. The Sirloin is great as well. But they are all interesting. And they make them so carefully. I'm always stopping at the wall of chocolate as well. So many new manufacturers and flavors. It's not cheap, but it's cheaper than driving 50,000 miles!

    $10 for this

Definitely eat here if you want to feel like you got cheated out of your money. I paid $10 for this pathetic excuse for a salad. This is supposed to be a quinoa + roasted vegetables salad. Where are the roasted vegetables? Is this a joke? I wish.

So good! Loved the pretzel bread and felt high quality in terms of ingredients. Love the grass fed roast beef personally

Well, I had a really good cup of cauliflower soup here once. Nice spot to ingest a meal. Worthwhile.

The tomato basil bisque soup is delicious and you should try the Ritter Sport cornflakes chocolate bar.

Had the Hannah Classic Club. Good sandwich. Bread was thinner than standard sub bread... but much better. House Chips were awesome.

WOW!! Schneider Deli has been on my radar for so long and it did not disappoint. If there's one…read morething I know, it is a good corn beef sandwich, and Schneider's Deli was no different. While we had originally gone there for bagel sandwiches, it was past noon and they were sold out (just means I have to go back now). The latkes were the perfect side that we ordered and the corn beef was so juicy. The sandwich practically melted in my mouth. It was consumed rather quickly and the perfect amount of sauerkraut and dressing. This location is small, but we were luckily able to get a table inside. Just writing this review my mouth is watering and I just know I will be coming back here during my many visits to Chicago!

I really want to like them so much more than I do. If there were a continuum from hipster deli…read more(think Mile End) to traditional deli (Manny's, 2nd Avenue, etc) Schneider would on the hipster side of center. Two of us shared a half pound pastrami on rye with a side of hash browns. The rye was pretty decent but the pastrami was sliced far too thick and the meat was lean. That is not a good thing when it comes to pastrami and I attribute the lean meat to the deli catering to its hipster-ish audience. Although the flavor was decent, the sandwich was dry and difficult to eat. We disagreed on the generously sized pickle. One of us thought the flavor was just right, the other not so much. We both agreed on the hash browns. It's a no-go. They were well fried but entirely unseasoned. I understand the lack of schmaltz but there was no onion or salt or anything else. Waffle House has nothing to worry about. (IYKYK) Service was fast and polite. The space is tiny, but it works. Prices are okay for this area but if you want traditional deli in Chicago, go to Manny's.
