Brussels & Kale salad

Great food, service and food. Definitely worth a try and you'll find yourself back here sooner than later

Well this is the only photo I got since they wouldn't seat us.

Well this is the only photo I got since they wouldn't seat us. Then another group came in and got seated right away. And they didn't have reservations because they said as they walked in "oh blue door let's try this place out" Sadly I couldn't try it and I felt like they discriminated against us.

Came in for brunch. It was BUSY so definitely get a reservation if you can. Service was good. The tables are pretty close together since it is a pretty small place. I got the chilaquiles with over-medium eggs. It is a red sauce chilaquiles and it was DELICIOUS. Would absolutely come back for this and to try other items on the menu.

Chicken Sandwich

The food was really good! The chicken sandwich was juicy and the pickled onions were the special touch I didn't know it needed. The cheese curds were also really good especially with the peppers. The seating wasn't my favorite - I felt like we were practically sharing a table with our neighbors on both sides. The space was also loud and the service was slow, but it was kind of expected because of how crowded it was.

Amazing! One of the best meals I've had! Everything was phenomenal. We shared a few appetizers: beet tartare with plantain chips, sweet potato empanadas with chimichurri, crab cakes, and cheese curds with ranch. All awesome! The cheese curds are extremely addictive. You've been warned. The soup of the day was potato leek and I enjoyed my cup. I loved my Brussels and Kale salad!! Best salad I've had in a long time. Every bite was bursting with flavor. It was well balanced and perfect. My boyfriend really liked his salmon entree and my friend enjoyed his Cobb Salad. Fantastic cocktails too. Very smooth espresso martini and the Lavender Rita had a nice kick to it. Excellent and attentive service. Beautiful restaurant. Lovely and romantic with the dim lighting. Nice place to go for a date or special occasion. There is an upstairs too. Very spacious venue. I'm so happy my friend suggested this place. It was a very memorable meal and I highly recommend coming here.

Came for brunch with my cousins and loved it so much! The food was amazing and the drinks were delicious! Our waitress was attentive, the atmosphere was relaxing and calm for a Sunday. Definitely recommend!

For our annual New Year's brunch, we chose Blue Door Farmstand. Having been to Blue Door Kitchen & Garden before, I wanted to try another one of their restaurants. The aesthetics were charming, original and very farm style. We were seated upstairs, but there is an elevator if needed. We ordered several appetizers and they did not disappoint. The drinks were stiff and delicious, and the coffee was just as good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. By the time my entrée arrived, I was already a little full, but everything I tried was fantastic. I would definitely come back!

We were super hungry and decided to get a quick brunch at blue door. We have been to their other location, blue door kitchen and garden so we're excited to try farm stand. They had a 45 min wait and we got a table right in time. The service was fast. The ambience is cute and cozy. We got some mimosas, veggie burger with salad and grilled cheese with tomato soup. Except for the tomato also, the food was very very very scrumptious. It's hard to find a decent veggie burger and blue door nailed it. I will definitely be back!

Food is decent! The bar needs some work. Been here for breakfast and it's awesome but dinner is very mid. The drinks were very watered down. The dessert was LIT!

Really great food & vibe! I love the plates and the glassware. This would be perfect for a brunch date. I like that they have latte options for drinks, not just black coffee. Everything we had was delicious and the service was speedy, even on a Sunday!

I've come a couple of times and it is always pretty good. We stopped in for lunch and tried: - Farmstand Burger - Sesame Chicken Salad The burger was cooked perfectly and the salad wasn't bad. It was packed, but the food came pretty quickly so no complaints. A great spot to meet up with friends.

Two floors, filled with natural light and heavy plant life stapled with antique doors. French inspired place, this was a great experience. I grabbed the BKT wrap, sweet potato fries and a blueberry muffin OF COURSE. Ingredients are fresh and the food was carefully prepared. Upon request, the bartender curated a custom cocktail for me, and it was amazing. Thanks Blue Door team!

Brussels & Kale Salad

As you push through the blue door, this small space opens up to a sheik eatery, white plates with blue flowers adorning the tables... framed by pale blue felt back chairs. Staff are inviting and knowledgeable. Everything was so good! The kale salad was perfect with the perfect amount of dressing, you could taste every item in it. Have to come back for the other salads. Perfect hot toddy and exceptional carrot cake. Will def be back.

Does this restaurant have gluten free options?

Hi Venny, We do offer gluten free options! Our servers will work with you to advise which dishes are gluten free, or can be made gluten free!…

It has sign on the door that says CLISED until further notice!!! What is going on?

Unsure, but was just there and it's open!

Do they do showers?

I think there was an engagement party going on on the second floor during a Friday evening when I was there. Not 100% sure if they do or don't do showers though. Hope this helps!

Staff spoke English well. Customers included many westerners as well as the expected Asians. Chiu Quon is cash only, same as Feida across the street. I was generally quite excited about what I might find here. The name Chiu Quon 超群 is a 50+ years old bakery in Hong Kong (English name Maria's bakery). I was wondering if it had any association. Alas, no. Be that as it may, this Chiu Quon is a 1986 institution in Chicago Chinatown. So, they deserve their own applause. I was on a mission per a friend's request to find 'chicken little cookies' 雞仔餅 or as CQ calls it, Phoenix Cookies. That was the first thing I bought. Alas, my friend reported they are oddly sweet instead of savory. Well, each has their own family recipes. I did side by side comparisons with Feida. The CQ pastries are a bit more refined, prettier, a reasonable filling to crust ratio, but also smaller, less filled, and $0.25 more. Items we bought: - Wife pastry 老婆饼, filled with wintermelon filling (no chunks) - Red bean pastry 豆沙酥, a smaller flat round type - Crystal gel pastry 香蕉糕. This old school soft steamed glutinous rice mochi roll is now commonly vanilla flavor. Theirs have a bit of red bean inside. Their version was quite sweet. - Red bean filled pastry bar with walnuts. We liked this item the most. Plump, well filled with red bean, the walnut has a balance to the sweetness, minimum crust. We bought more to bring home. All items were around $2.50. I honestly like both bakeries and wish we have lower cost options at home.

Prices seemed fair, and the space was clean - felt like your typical Chinese bakery. Overall, we left feeling full with our choices and it was a nice experience. Thanks, Chiu Quon!

We ordered the breakfast meal sets, which came with two mini pineapple buns and spam macaroni. We also ordered a breakfast plate with scrambled eggs and fried spam. The breakfast meals come with hot drinks and are only around $9, which is a great value. There are only 5 tables for dine in, first come first serve! The bakery also offers a variety of freshly made pastries and buns. Our favorites were the BBQ pork bun and the pineapple milk custard bun. Both were flavorful and fresh. Our family and extended family often ordered birthday cakes from them, and their mango cake was our favorite. When mangoes were in season, they used plenty of fresh mango in the cakes. Their cakes are always fresh, light, fluffy, and not too sweet. My daughter and I also love their individual cakes, especially the Black Pearl and Walnut Cake. Their pineapple buns and egg tarts are her favorites as well. Saint Anna has also been part of our daughter's childhood. When she was little, my husband used to bring her here before or after Chinese school in Chinatown on Sundays. Her go-to breakfast items were the Butter Bun, Ham and Macaroni in Soup, and Diced Ham and Corn in Cream Rice. As she got older, Curry Chicken with Potato became her favorite. She especially loved the potato cubes soaked in the delicious, mild curry sauce. She would always ask for more potatoes and less chicken, haha! Saint Anna is a family-run business, and Sara and Irene, the daughters-in-law, used to take care of the front of house. They were always so friendly and accommodating. After a 6-year hiatus, we finally returned one Friday recently when we happened to be in the area with a friend. Sara is now a co-owner, and it was wonderful to see her again. She immediately recognized us and was so warm and welcoming. She even asked me to relay her greetings to my sisters when she greeted us and again when we were leaving. Those little gestures made our return feel especially meaningful. We were still full from a big dim sum lunch, so my daughter picked up 2 Mini Pineapple Buns and 2 Paper-Wrapped Sponge Cakes, while I got a Red Bean Roll. Everything was fresh, soft, and delicious, and the total came to just under $8, really a great value. Our friend also purchased 2 Fried Sticky Rice Dumplings with Chicken. I had never really paid attention to their limited dim sum selection before, so that was a nice discovery. We love Saint Anna and will definitely be back whenever we're in the area.
