The garlic bread is also delicious somehow even though it's very simple. I always wish I had more. The food at brown bag seafood is good. It was fairly healthy for a meal and I would recommend getting it at least once. I feel that the chicken was a bit on the plainer side flavor wise since it is just grilled chicken but having sauces will elevate the meal. The service was fantastic and ambiance is great as well! Decent place to get a casual lunch. I walked in when they opened and they were having a work huddle, but they made sure to take care of me right away. Btw, the part of the huddle I could hear had many words of encouragement to the staff and I loved all the positivity. It was my first time there and they gave me the low down on what to do. So, you get a laminated menu and dry erase marker then mark your order. Give the menu to the cashier and then pay. They were great about answering questions about the menu and giving recommendations. I ordered the dinner plate, which included a large portion of protein, garlic bread, and two sides. I didn't want the garlic bread because I was ordering tator tots, so in lieu of it, I was able to substitute the veggie blend for a little up charge. (I needed to balance the tator tots and chowdah haha) I also got the gingerade, which was very refreshing. The salmon was slightly over cooked, the veggie blend blend consisted of some green beans with mixed salad greens (meh), tator tots were crispy with a slight taste of truffle and topped with Parmesan, and the chowdah had a good amount of fish to potato ratio. Everything was palatable. Overall: I think it's a nice place to grab a casual healthy-ish lunch if you are in the area. The food was mediocre, but the service was great. read more

Curry Fish Cakes with Greens and Grains was probably my most well balanced meal in a long time. Some fried, some greens, some creamy sauce, some complex carbs. The fish cake itself wasn't strong in curry flavor but a drizzle of the creamy curry sauce did the trick. The greens was a combo of green beans, broccoli, spinach and the grains were a blend of brown rice, quinoa, and wheatberry! Why is this important? Texture baby! And probably a boatload of nutrition. It also came with a tangy white sauce that I'm not sure what I was supposed to do with it but I drizzled it over my greens and grains and devoured it. No regrets! Now the hubs got the CLT (Cod Lettuce Tomato) and the lettuce is always greener on the other side. This was no exception. Fish and French fries fried to perfection. Crispy in the outside and tender on the inside (fish and fries)! It is a seasonal item so if this sounds good to you...better not wait too long. read more

The fish appears and tasted like boxed processed fish fingers from the supermarket and the fries were strangely cooked also in a strange batter. Very average for the prices. BEWARE -- Never place an order on their website! Unprofessional GM. I placed a holiday lunch order directly thru this store's website (as a gift to a group of teachers at my sons school). The group only received half of the order at the scheduled time. Apparently, the driver forgot to take the second bag of food (i.e. the other half the order), so they sent another driver out afterwards with the rest of the food. I called the store to ask if the food was remade, as IT'S SEAFOOD and HAD BEEN SITTING THERE FOR OVER 40 MINUTES between deliveries --- First bag of food arrived at 11:45am and the second bag at 12:26pm. The GM assured me 'it was only sitting there not even 10 minutes' and would arrive hot. IT ARRIVE COLD AND SOGGY! ....Cold fish + soggy fries and bread. Seafood is not meant to sit for nearly 45 minutes! This was BEYOND EMBARRASSING as the lunch was a holiday gift / celebration. I felt SO bad given the second batch was cold / soggy and didn't even make it in time for the group's 30 minute lunch window. The GM blamed doordash, and of course doordash blamed the store because I placed it directly thru the store. Horrible customer service on both ends, and frankly unprofessional on Brown Bag Seafood. The store should have compensated the order given the issues, then taken the doordash driver error / issue up with doordash directly, as that is the service provider they've selected on behalf of their brand. I was the pickle in the middle and received the short end of the stick... not to mention spent my lunch hour on the phone with both BBS and DoorDash. HERE'S THE KICKER -- The GM told me to call him when I place my next order and 'he'd throw in a couple of cookies on the house for the issue.' Seriously? I will not be ordering from you ever again. And, I warn others NOT TO ORDER FROM THIS STORE OR THEIR WEBSITE. The store will take zero responsibility for any issue. I really enjoy the concept and the decor of this place but I was a little disappointed by the food. I got the grilled salmon greens and grains plus a side of truffle parmesan tots. The salmon itself was pretty good - the fish seemed fresh! I just think it was a little under seasoned. I also enjoyed the grains part of the dish but the greens fell short. It was too bland for my liking. The tots were pretty good! The serving size was decent but I think it would be better if they had tossed the tots in parmesan rather than just including it on top. I couldn't detect the truffle or see where that came into the dish. Overall, I would try again, but it hasn't made it onto my fav lunch places within the loop. read more

Just ordered the dinner plate entree and it pretty sure I just received scraps. I ordered this dish thinking it would be a larger portion ($18) compared to the white fish plate ($11). The white fish as you can see in the photo is twice as big. I just feel ripped off with the dinner plate cause it's supposed to come with two sides with the cauliflower being one of them which as you can see takes up about half of the plate of food. Got about three bites of lettuce. It's annoying when you want to order healthy and have to pay up the butt for it. Then on top of it, not getting even an actual dinner's worth of salmon. I've gotten a couple daily catches on "greens and grains" boxes, always super fresh and delicious without weighing you down. On Friday I decided to live a little and got literally the best lobster roll I've ever had (and I've had a lot of them) with the truffle-parm tots, soooo good! This location has a great little patio and a cool grass-amphitheater thing overlooking the river to grab a spot and eat at too! It's quality seafood at reasonable prices, with minimal wait.
