My husband and I went here for lunch. I had the brisket platter. The Brisket and bbq sauce were excellent as well as the baked beans. I had sweet potato fries for my side and they were outstanding! The service was semi-friendly. The prices are fair considering the portions are enough for 2. However, the meat was dry: chicken, brisket, and ribs. The beans were old, coleslaw was okay, and the potato salad was zingy but otherwise boring. And their sweet tea tasted like it had been sitting in the heat for far too long. I am a Door Dasher. Today around 1:00 pm I went to pick up an order at this location. I was promptly asked who I was picking up for. The girl checked with the cooks and said it would be 5 minutes or so. I stood off to the side to wait. I checked my phone and then was just standing politely waiting when I heard one of the cooks say something that got my attention. There was 2 (male) cooks. It was the younger man who was speaking and clearly angry. He said he would like to be able to stand around staring off into space and get the big tips like a door dasher does. He was talking about me. I was so dumbfounded! Another door dasher ahead of me spoke up and said we do not always get tips. MANY times we only get our base pay. I am a 60 yr old woman just trying to make ends meet. I do not qualify for unemployment and have to do whatever it takes to pay my bills. I am definitely not getting rich doing door dash but am so grateful for getting a job during this pandemic. I am not sure what he thought I should be doing while I was waiting and if he is so unhappy at Sweet Tea Express, maybe he should quit and try door dash. Employees represent the place they work. I will never accept an order for door dash from there again, and I definitely will not ever go there on my off time. read more

Kind of disappointed in Sweet Tea from last year (2017) to this year (2018) they have raised their prices and lowered their standards. Ordered the patty melt with potato salad. Patty melt meat was not a 1/2 pound, more like a 1/4 pound swashed very thin, the grilled onions were raw, not grilled, just added on top of the meat. The potato salad had more onions ( raw again ) than potatoes. If you like raw onions this is the place for you, but not for me. Price $9.50, Ill be looking elsewhere for lunch !! read more

This is our favorite BBQ joint in the area. When you are looking for real food prepared fresh this place hits all the marks. Staff is friendly, food comes out fast. Must try the pulled pork sandwich, my wife loves the sweet tea burger they top it with inhouse made onion straws that are soaked in sweet tea and deep fried! I love their baked beans and Mac salad, seriously the menu is extensive I could go on and on not to mention their full breakfast menu and breakfast burritos, (huge and to die for). P.S. Cool smoker outside, nice to see food made on site fun to watch and it shows in the overall taste. read more

I've been here a few times and had really good food and large portions. I noticed their prices have increased quite a bit but I understand that happens. I ordered a brisket platter, which I've had before and enjoyed. My friend picked up our order and when I took it out of the back there was grease everywhere! The amount of brisket was about half from what I've received in the past. There was no bbq sauce with the order, maybe you have to ask for it, idk. About 40% of it was fat. The beans literally taste like dijon mustard and nothing else. Menu says comes with garlic bread, we didn't get any bread. The potato salad was ok. We also had a trip tip sandwich which was good but the side of fries were ok. This cost us $27 plus a tip. Unfortunately, that will be the last time I visit Sweet Tea Express. read more

I heard really great things about this place . Possibility that my target was a bit high and so I was slightly disappointed . Staff was curt and service was slow . Set up was confusing and only one overworked young lady was taking in person and phone orders . This was on a Saturday at lunch time with an area event going on about half a mile distant . In other words they were very busy ! About the food , we ordered barbeque and it seemed like that was only done as a side endeavor . Not impressive but hey , it was edible ... . Dropped in for breakfast around 11:00 today, placed my order, watched an employee making sandwiches without sanitary gloves, waited a good 15 minutes for my food. The hash browns were covered in a heavy oil which was sort of revolting and my one slice of toast did not have butter as an option.. I went for my first time today. When i walked in i was unsure of what to do given that they don't have a large menu board. When the cashier addressed me he said "hi the menus are here." Then when i looked at the menu i asked him do i order he or seat myself? He said "you can order here." I then ordered and paid but the printer started beeping it of control and he wore his irritation on his face. When I tried to make a joke about the issue he brushed it off without even trying to enjoy himself. It was like everyone working there was in a stupor. So far I was not impressed. Unfortunately I was dumbfounded by the lack of customer service. How can you even treat customers like an inconvenience. I am all about small business but come on. The food was ok which was a plus but I even witnessed the cashier getting snappy with another customer about a question while I was eating. Then another female associate came up seeming to be taking over for him and he sat down at the table in front of me with a pile of tips, that from what I could tell we're completely undeserved, and does gets on his phone with this money sitting in front of him. I'm sorry but am I the only person that sees that as unprofessional? Upsetting as that was I was trying to figure out why they don't give numbers and after thinking about it i decided it was probably so that it seemed more personable to have the employee just being out for food but when the gentleman who cooked my meal brought it to me and I said thank you he plopped down my plate and walked away without even a greeting. I will not be returning. Like I said I'm happy to support small business but from here on out of I want a burger I'll go to jasper's and if I want a sandwich I'll go to R&D's. My hope with this review is not to keep people from going there it's so that the owner and management can look at the lack of service and try to resolve the issue. read more

We love to have breakfast out every once in a while. We decided to try Sweet Tea Express in Central Point after seeing ads on KTVL. OMG! What a delightful experience! Friendly people! Great food, huge portions of the breakfast items that we ordered. My hubby was raving over the perfection of the home-fried potatoes ... "Best ever!" The sausages were superb. I did not ask, but they tasted savory, deliciously home-made like my grandma used to make years ago. Check out the menu. They also have take-out. We are anxious to try their burgers ... Drove 2.5 hours from Redding Ca. for work and just happened to walk in, this place has amazing food, is clean and the employees are friendly and extremely helpful. My husband and I had a great breakfast! This place is amazing! I had eggs hash browns and brisket, the sauce was incredible and really made this breakfast exceptional! Everything the food and cute cafe I give 5 stars, however the only complaint and it's a big one for us was the music was way way too loud and the most awful choice of music ever! The songs everyone turned the radio to a different station or just turned it off! Some restaurants do this to move people thru as fast as possible, but this is a deal breaker for us. If we choose Sweet Tea in Central Point again we'll call in for take out, because the food is just that good! read more

Saturday afternoon, average lunch crowd, 30 minutes to get a cheeseburger and Cobb salad served. Cheeseburger was over-sauced, which made it a sloppy mess. Cobb Salad was mostly store bought ingredients, with under seasoned chicken that had too much smoke flavor (and not enough salt). Want home town restaurants to do well, and hoping this was an off day for Sweet Tea. Not sure I will be back. read more

Not really a fan. Maybe it is what I ordered, Tri Tip. Definitely the worst tri tip I have ever had. It is more like deli roast beef that is over cooked and dry. I have had friends say they really enjoy their food, that just hasn't been my experience. I first tried the tri tip sandwich several months ago. Not your typical sandwich and meat was not tasty as mentioned above. I waited a few months went back in to order a pound of tri tip by itself to go. It took 15 minutes for me to get the meat. The cook was making 3 breakfast buritos and chicken fried steak for other customers, so I had to wait. They also put the very thinly sliced tri tip on the grill to heat it up, so if there was any life left in the meat prior to this it was gone when I received it. I will not give it a 3rd chance for tri tip again as that is not what you get. If I want sliced roast beef, I will just go to Albertson's deli. If I want tri tip I will go to the other BBQ place on the other side of the freeway. Even with all that I may try something else as that chicken fried steak looked pretty decent and my friends have liked their food. read more
