I'd say this place is a perfect 3 stars. There's hits and misses all over the menu. For instance, the chicken fried steak is literally one of the best I've had, and consistently every time. Their burger is pretty good too. But then you get the Philly, the BBQ or even the Mac n cheese and there's where you lose a few stars. The Philly is bland as can be, no flavor on the meat. The BBQ is extremely underwhelming and way too pricey, and the Mac n cheese tastes like KFC's. If I was an owner, I surely would tweak these menu items! read more

I go out to breakfast with my 11-year-old daughter and then write a review from her perspective. This is our 3rd visit. The first was excellent and we gave a 5-star. The second was on day they re-opened after COVID-19 restrictions and the experience was quite poor. Here is her review for today's visit. The pancake was absolutely delicious and was made into a Micky Mouse. Perfectly fluffy, crispy, not dry, and jus delicious. (She is a little a loss for words and keeps says huge a delicious) my brother had the tri tip burrito. He did not say much but he devoured it. It was on the spicy side but excellent. He said the tri-tip looks smoked and even though he does not like mayonnaise, the spicy mayo was a perfect complement. My friend got got the French toast was well made and he ate all of it. The hot chocolate was out and I made my cousin ask 3 times and finally got some at the end of the meal. The hot chocolate is quite yummy. My dad had 2 eggs over easy, corned beef hash, hash browns, and coffee. He said it was good. We will try them go to breakfast with my 10-year-old daughter who loves to watch cooking shows. Here is her review. The pancake is one of the best I have had in a while. It was big thick and completely cooked the edges were just a little crispy which made it perfect. The drawn butter that came with it was unsalted. Good bacon but just ok sausage. The hot chocolate was from a machine but is was really good. This was a solid 4 1/2 but not a 4 so I gave it a 5. Just passing through so we asked at the hotel where to eat. They recommended Sweet Tea Express so we went there. I had the Philly Burger it was great, had a side of potato salad it was awesome tasted homemade not your typical store type salad. I also tasted the baked beans and it tasted great too! This second branch of STE is larger and a little nicer inside though it has an "industrial" decor. My roast beef (called tri-tip on the menu) consisted of many small thin slices of tender meat and melted cheese that the ciabatta bun couldn't contain. Service: Very Slow. It took us 30 minutes in an near 1/2 empty restaurant of customers to receive our food. Food: I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a side order of potatoe salad. The pulled pork sandwich was was edible but lacked flavor and the bun was not toasted. The potatoe salad was too salty and it was very cold, and it did not taste like it was freshly made that day. And it had a weird balance of spices. I would not order these items again. Cleanliness: Good: Floors and tables were clean. We tried the bacon cheese burger and the sweet tea burger. First we weren't really a fan of grabbing a menu and standing in line to order, and then looking for a table to sit at. Unfortunately the two of us had to sit at a long table for like eight because the place is small and there's not a lot of seating options. Ok back to the food, the burger patty had no flavor which was completely disappointing because there's a huge smoker sitting behind the restaurant so we thought the burgers would be smoked at some point but no. The bun was nice and soft; the burger toppings were basic. Their fries were nothing special, but their portions are big so you shouldn't leave hungry. Our order may have been sitting for a bit because the food was not hot when we got it so that was disappointing. We really wanted to like this place because we like supporting local business, but it's a pass for us. read more

Oh my, the food is pretty good here but on the 3rd day of opening from covide 19 the staff weren't paying any more attention to cleanliness then before Covid 19. No wiping the counter near the register, know cleaning off the receipt screen, no cleaning off the menus, no masks, lots of touchables on the tables with no evidence of wiping down, etc. And the food took a half hour. We were nervous sitting there eating it, but did anyway. But never going back there, the food is just not worth it. read more

I don't give out unwarranted five star reviews. This place deserves it. First of all when you walk into a BBQ place and the Blues Brothers are on it's a good sign. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful answering any of my questions knowledgeably explaining the different sauces and how the sides are homemade. After making the tough choice I ended up getting the meat trio. I took it to go so I could return to my hotel to watch the NBA playoffs and I'm glad I did! You get three sides with three meats and garlic bread. I ate half of the food and had to put the rest in the fridge. Couldn't eat another bite I was so full. They use Sweet Baby Rays on the ribs and homemade sauce on the rest. Baked beans made with mustard the way they should be! I read a review where there was a complaint about that and all I can say is, "Girl you don't know bbq." I come through on business a lot and this is my new go to from now on! So far the best place I've eaten in Central Point. How it's not full of truck drivers from the truck stop nearby I do not know. If I owned the place I'd target that market. There's nothing else nearby really other than lame fast food. I'll be eating here from now on. read more

What an awesome find! Great food, huge portions and great people! Stopped by on our way home after doctors visits and so glad we did. Tried a sampler (brisket, pulled pork and chicken) and was more than enough for two (I'm afraid to see the size of the sampler for two). All three were great and sauces had right mix. My wife got the ribs and said the same about hers. The beans were tasty, the biscuits large and soft, everything a fat boy could want in a bbq place. Worst service I've received in awhile. From anywhere. We ordered online and our wait time was 15-20 mins from the time we placed it. Upon arrival we were told it would be an additional 25-30 minutes for our food due to "how busy they were". Mind you there were maybe 4 tables occupied. I asked if our order could be expedited and it was clear the blonde girl at the counter had no idea what that meant so after explaining it and telling her what the online ordering told us, she flat out said "no, it doesn't know how busy we are here so we can't do that. Would you like a refund?". We were offered no other options, aside from a refund. Poor customer service! If your online ordering says one thing, HONOR IT! No excuses! Today my husband had the day off from work, so this morning he thought he'd surprise me with breakfast! We've always said how we wanted to try Sweet Tea Express. So he went there to buy two Sweet Tea Breakfast Burritos. (Peppers, egg, ham, bacon, cheese.) He siad it took quite some time, around 25 minutes or so. So once he finally got his order he drove home just to realize there was only one burrito, even though he paid for two. So he called and told them the situation. The guy over the phone kinda sounded annoyed that he was bringing this to his attention. He told my husband he could refund his money. My husband explained that he came there for breakfast so no, he will be coming back to pick up his second breakfast burrito.... We live down the street so he let him know he'd be there in like 5 mins (not in anyway saying he expected his food to be done by that time frame! Just letting him know he was close.) Now hungry and irritated, he left again to go pick up the burrito as I waiting for him to get home so we could eat together. He got home extremely fast and I was immediately worried. I asked him if he had it waiting there like maybe he just forgot to put it in the bag the first time or if he had to make it all together? He siad no I'm pretty sure he just made it that fast. So he takes his first bite and it's literally FILLED I'm talking PACKED with mushrooms. It had two ingredients inside when he opened it up. Tons and ton of mushrooms, and egg. I wish I took a picture before he threw it away to show you the comparison of mine (the sweet tea) and his (some random whatever ingredients were laying arou d burrito) I flet so bad I just decided to give him half of my burrito. First visit here after hearing good things. I wish they would have warned us that the baked beans were a distasteful orange color because they tasted heavily of mustard and uncooked onions. Hubby ordered the pulled pork, which he really enjoyed. He would have given dinner a better review but my brisket was chewy, fatty, and generally lacking in flavor. The slightly blackened garlic toast was about as appealing as the over cooked sweet potato fries. The fry sauce for the regular fries was pretty good, but the regular fries were not. So, yeah. Restaurant has a very strong grease smell when you walk in, so much so that your clothes carry the smell when you leave. The burgers and BQ was good but a little sloopy. The buns were soaked by the time you get to the finish. The potato salad was the worst. Cold cubes of potatoes with a thin runny dressing and no flavor. Place is decent but every time I go, I can't help but notice how messy the area around the trash cans are. It seems like other places consciously try to make sure areas around the garbage can are as clean as they can be or try to limit the eyesore that is the waste area. Bathrooms were kinda messy too. Here's the other thing, I am a nurse so them using their bare hands on coleslaw prep and food is really concerning for me. I am not sure what all the fuss is about. I just ordered a Corned Beef Breakfast Burrito and it was very underwhelming. Not only did it seem to have just one piece of corned beef, it was filled with under cooked bell peppers(not mentioned on the menu) and ketchup (also, not mentioned on the menu). YIKES! What has happened to Sweet Tea Central Point? I've had many really good meals here but today I noticed higher prices (that happens) but quality and portions have really gone down. Bacon burger and fries, usually wonderful but meat patty had no flavor or seasoning and burger was sloppily thrown together and immediately fell apart. 2 slices of bacon stuck together and 90% of it hanging out one side. Used to be they gave a generous portion of piping hot fries that were really great, but today was a tiny portion and they were barely warm. They used to be busy during lunch hour and today there was maybe 4 or 5 tables so I guess the word is out on this location! Too bad, won't be back. I contacted Greg at least 3 weeks ago about doing the catering for my husbands retirement party sat feb 19, he confirmed that he could do food for 50 people, would even deliver and set up, all we had to do was break everything down and return it the next day. Had contact with him again on feb 10 regarding the food and he said everything was a go. Sat he was supposed to deliver at 430, no showed, I called, got his voice mail, left message and text twice never heard from him and of course the restaurant closed at 430, I had guests waiting with no food. With the help of some great friends and the owner of Angelo's pizza we had food there with in 45 min. We have been loyal customers to this restaurant for at least 6 years. Needles to say they will never get our business and again and I'll make sure to not recommend them to anyone...if I could I wouldn't even give a star but wouldn't let me post review without one.... read more
