    Breakfast sandwich $7.99
    Kris B.

Friendly service, easy Apple Pay and a free cup of ice! I got the almond croissant $6.50 and a really large, perfectly ripe banana $1.99. Sometimes the line gets long here (between Gate 6 and 7) but today no line.

Shout-out to Riley at this airport location for exceptional customer service at my most recent visit! Wasn't happy with my original order but without hesitate made it right! Now I get to sit and enjoy a delicious latte before my flight.

Fiction vs Reality: This is what you pay for a steam-rolled, flat, dry, over-toasted product. That sandwich is a Ham, Egg & Cheese Croissant sandwich. Incredibly bad at normal high airport prices. Tossed it out. It's not the first time I've seen this but first I've written. My fault.

Had a pleasant experience grabbing an iced coffee before my flight. It took a minute to catch someone's attention while working in the back, but once they came up to the counter, my drink was prepared quickly and was pretty tasty. As far as airport coffee goes, it was a good iced latte! A little pricey, but it's to be expected for an airport location.

I only got an iced latte but asked for less ice and the staff was nice to let me know it would be milkier and she helped me adjust the espresso shot. She offered to remake it but I didn't want to bother her. She was very nice! Coffee was good, and I didn't mind too much of the milkiness ;)

This is a large cappuccino before drinking . What you see is still the foam...I GOT HALF THE COFFEE.
    Albert D.

DO NOT BUY A LARGE CAPPUCCINO! Because the amount of foam they use, you'll only get half the amount. I was very disappointed how my large cup of coffee felt so light, having half the fluid content . I went back to the barista to share my concern. She looked at me with a blank stare and said it's because of the foam. I asked, so most of the cup is foam? She continue to just look at me. I have never bought a cappuccino in my life, half been foam. The barista was cold and numb. The coffee cake was tasty though and the muffins were beautifully displayed, adding a nice ambiance. The associate who helped me pick the dessert was very kind, sweet, and approachable. I liked her!

    Overpriced microwaved bagel sandwich
    Scott K.

Unbelievably bad. Not many options in the airport, but $21 for an egg bagel and two soggy pieces of bacon is unbelievable. The server stuck it in the microwave after I paid. Would not have ordered if I knew that. Bagel is the texture of a pencil eraser now.

I guess this is my new favorite bakery! Their cupcakes are soooo good. Tho cinnamon is kinda dry for me, but taste wise it is a 10/10. Servers are nice they didn't rush us, customers by picking bc It's kinda overwhelming to choose what to get with a large variety of options and they all look so delicious. also cash only.

Cold, stale, tasteless bagel and egg-like patty.

Many of their pastries lean toward fruity and nutty flavors, which isn't what I tend to crave; however, what brings the fifth star are their dine in brunch and dinner menus. Nonna Mercato is the only place that I know of in Long Beach where one can get a great French omelette for brunch. They also have outstanding handmade pastas with rich sauces. I ordered a delicious house made gnochetti pasta with a sauce that was fortified with nduja sausage, broccoli rabe, garlic, and tomato. There were some additional umami flavors in the savory sauce and the handmade gnochetti are amazing. Was tempted to take some fresh spaghetti home, but I'll be back later this week to pick some up!

Bakery Review - solid pastries and coffee, but one pastry I had previously and recalled being a stand out, was not great the next time I got it, so what seems like it should be consistently good is perhaps not. Restaurant Review - very fussy table policy...there were at least 6 tables open and they wouldn't seat 2 out of 3 of our party until all of us were there. I get it if you're busy/have a waitlist, but to make us stand there while the table we eventually had sat empty the entire time we waited was a little annoying. Then, at the end of our meal, they told us our time at the table had expired. Really? In terms of the food, it was fine, nothing to write home about. It was more the service that was so off putting. The coffee was cold when served. At the end of the meal our server asked if we wanted desert, and when we asked for a desert menu he just said "Oh, you need to just go inside and look." It could have been worded more appropriately to say something like "We have great pastries and treats inside if you have room for desert" rather than "Would you like desert?", which leads to a dead end since he didn't offer any. And after reading other reviews, I wonder if we would have been allowed to eat those pastries at the table anyway? I'm in the area frequently, but will try other places going forward after these last couple of disappointing visits.

The guys working the register were friendly, welcoming, and made ordering easy. There were about six people ahead of me, but the line moved along nicely. This is definitely a MUST-TRY bakery. Come hungry and be prepared to want EVERYTHING you see! Just an FYI, they are cash only, but they conveniently have an ATM located in the back of the bakery. The decor is cozy and chic, and I like that they kept it spacious instead of cramming a ton of tables and chairs in. I especially loved the little table lamps! Our server was very nice and helpful when we had questions. Caesar salad: I LOVED this. Perfect balance of flavors with perfect crunch. Word of warning is that it is anchovy heavy (including anchovy filets on top), so if you like to pretend the anchovy aspect of Caesar salads doesn't exist, this might not be for you! Roasted chicken: Loved the crunch on this too, and the salad and polenta were nice additions. I think the polenta was my favorite part of this dish lol. Kale pistou pizza (asked for no onions): My least favorite dish. We didn't realize it was vegan but as someone who generally likes vegan food, it just lacked flavor and felt very dry overall. The sourdough crust was good, at least. Peach mess dessert: Omg, the star of the show! Such an amazing dessert top to bottom, I loved the mix of textures and flavors. I could eat this every day! I probably would've given this 4 stars due to the pizza being that bland, but the dessert really elevated this whole meal. Can't wait to see all their different menus throughout the seasons! I hope they add a happy hour soon and I hope to see the return of their patio at some point!

Lovely brunch at the newly opened cafe portion of Colossus bakery…read more Stopped by the bakery first to grab their Cardamom roll. Which was delicious very "cardamomy" flavored, crispy layers. Dusted with Swiss pearl sugar. Just really yummy. Saw the almond croissant. Said oh will stop again on our way out. BIG mistake. Of course they were gone by then. Opted for the sticky toffee bun. She recommended warming before eating. What a nice little treat to share with my husband after dinner! Back to the cafe. Newly added as an adjoining space was vacated next to the bakery. Industrial modern interior. Spacious with 20(?) tables. Partners opted for the 2 egg breakfast. Eggs cooked perfectly as ordered. One ordered an omelet. Beautifully made. Would make Jacques Pepin or Thomas Keller proud. Thick sliced bacon. Thick sliced multigrain toast. Small side of spring mix salad adorned with watermelon radish. Very nice entree if you're an egg lover. Shared the French fries. They're like the ones my grandma made. Thick sliced potatoes deep fried. Crispy outside. Soft inside. Brings back pleasant memories. Get these if you're a French fry fan. The mushroom dip (think French dip with variety of sautéed mushroom in lieu of beef) was GREAT! Mushroom not overcooked, Muenster cheese draped atop. Crusty baguette bread. Although the dipping sauce was vegan based, the roasted mushroom base added enough umami for a deeply flavored dip. My only complaint was the clusters of oyster mushrooms were laid horizontally following the length of baguette. Which presents well but was a bit challenging to bite through. I dunno, maybe my teeth aren't sharp. Overall an outstanding dish. So my dilemma now is when to return to try the other menu items which didn't make my first cut. Parking is....well ya know...it's 2nd St. So the driver needs to be a good parallel parker. Cute shoes optional but be prepared to walk.
