We did not order sushi. So maybe that was the problem. Our food was absolutely dreadful so we will not be giving a second chance. We ordered: Tom Yum - shrimp was slimy and had a fried taste and was if the chef scrapped off 2 tempura shrimps and tossed it in my bowl. The soup itself was mostly large pieces of red onion, and several large pieces of tomato. Wtf tom yum recipe is that about? Not a mushroom or piece of lemongrass to be found. Truly disappointing start to an even worse meal. Drunken Noodles: Chicken was slimy and had a foul taste. The noodles were way over cooked and rubbery. The veggies were ok, but not enough of them to make the dish palatable. We scrapped the chicken onto a side plate and ate as many noodles as I could to at least feel full. The sauce was decent, but unfortunately not redeeming enough to make the meal worth it. Thai Basil Chicken: Same issues. Chicken was disgustingly inedible. There were at least more veggies in this meal to make it somewhat filling. Needless to say, we will not be returning. The good reviews must be sushi based, because the Thai food was embarrassing. read more

Some of the best reasonably priced sushi we've had in Denver in awhile! We even got a simple spicy tuna, avo, and cucumber and it was just as delicious as the specialty rolls. When we first got the menu we were nervous that with so many Asian options there's no way they would do it all well. It's a cute location. Food is good. We had a group of 5 and it was perfect for us. It wasn't too busy at all for a week day night. Service was a little slow though but I think that was because our group was just getting to know each other so they gave us some space. I would go back for sure. Definitely better than places on the main strip and definitely wayyyy cheaper. This is my new favorite sushi place in Cherry Creek. It's tucked away on a side street and is just so much more enjoyable than a crowded "hip" sushi joint in my opinion. My rolls were about $7.00 and again, in Cherry Creek I'm used to paying way more. The saki was $7 a bottle so all around a good night. 3 rolls a sashimi and a saki set me back $35 so that is a perfect dinner price is you ask me :) read more

Sweet Ginger is THE BEST Asian restaurant in Denver!!! Hands down, and probably one of the best ANYWHERE. (No, they didn't pay me to write this--my family has been coming here for years!!) I read some of the negative reviews (there aren't many) and am calling "BS" (forgive my French) on them! The owners are absolutely lovely: friendly, kind, and so very generous in spirit and action!! We always order gluten-free, as our daughter has celiac, and she has NEVER been sick. Not even once. We love (LOVE!!!) their curries--panang, green curry, peanut curry--and they have others as well. Their drunken noodles are delicious, and their spring rolls are so yummy I could eat them for every meal... AND they will happily make the peanut sauce GF if you ask! We are always made to feel welcome there, and they have both indoor and outdoor seating--both of which are comfortable and festive! I took some girlfriends there for drinks/apps recently, and they, too, were immediately hooked! One ordered sushi and said it was the best she'd tasted in Denver. (I'm a vegetarian, so I cannot speak to this, but her exact words!) Also my father-in-law, who lives in Napa and frequents 5-star restaurants, said that the curry at Sweet Ginger was one of the best meals he'd ever experienced. We ordered sushi, crab Rangoon, and low Mein. Overall, the sushi was pretty average-- not my go to for awesome sushi. Aside from the sushi the low mein, crab Rangoon, and the soups were all stellar. I think is place specializes more in their non-sushi options. I was literally walking down the street and waiting for another restaurant to open in an hour, and decided to get a snack at Sweet Ginger. It was happy hour, so they offered their happy hour menu. It was very affordable and had some great selections. I ordered the eggrolls, tempura fried vegetables, and one of the dragon sushi rolls. Everything I ordered was delicious. Located north of Cherry Creek mall, this is small restaurant with a hybrid of Asian choices. Met for business lunch, and had a wonderful experience.  Staff was friendly upon arrival and was given the option for indoor or outdoor seating.  Table service was attentive and efficient throughout the meal, and never felt rushed through out visit. All three of us ordered off the lunch menu, which a very good deal, with a choice of entrée and either soup or salad.  Both Hot & Sour and Egg drop soup were served hot and nice thick consistency.  Lunch included a 2 sushi roll plate, Peanut Curry Chicken, and Sesame Chicken.  Rolls were fairly standard for lunch, and the Curry Chicken was a generous serving with a nice size side of steam white rice.  The outstanding dish was the Sesame Chicken with a lightly fried rice.  Chicken was a light batter, fried to a golden brown with a spicy sticky sauce - delicious! We ordered from Door Dash and wish we would have picked another place. We got a salmon roll, Grand Canyon roll, New York roll, Seattle roll, crab rangoon, and miso soup. The salmon was fresh. The Grand Canyon roll had a nice consistency because of the tempura crust. Unfortunately the other 3 rolls were not put together well and fell apart to the point of being almost inedible. The miso soup had a lot of tofu and seaweed but didn't have much flavor. The crab rangoons were okay. Freshness is the most important part so I'd eat this again if a friend was set on it, but I'm definitely not going out of my way to eat here again. read more

Torn between 3 and 4 honestly, but I'd order again, so i guess that means "I'm a fan!" I'm typically hesitant of any place that does Japanese, Chinese, Thai, etc, but sometimes you just want sushi, and wonton soup, and Pad Thai, and none of the places we've found in Denver are AMAZING so why not take a chance? The customer service was ok, the restaurant called to ask what we wanted for an out of stock item, our order arrived in the expected time frame and everything was accurate and well packaged The food was decent. I had the Crazy salmon roll, and the sushi tasted fresh and wasn't grey or weird looking. The wonton soup could've used more wontons but the ones that were in it were flavorful. The Pad Se Lew was tasty and lasted me more than one meal, which was my goal! My big reason for writing this, is their unfriendly, unhelpful delivery man. Yes, we live in an apartment building. Yes, there's a call in box that works, and YES, I left clear instructions to find our unit. AND YES, there was a delivery fee AND I tipped you.... in all of this, I expect my food to be brought to my door... hence ordering delivery. At the time my order was expected to arrive, I got a text that said "Chinese food downstairs." I wrote back. "Call box code is ### I will buzz you in." I waited about five minutes before he finally used the call box, as I think he thought I would get sick of waiting and come find him. He finally made his way to our unit and banged loudly on the door. In the time it took my husband to get off the couch and go to the door, he started walking away with our food. My husband opened the door as he started leaving, and the delivery guy basically tossed the bag at my husband and grunted and walked away. You don't have to be chatty, but like... you are delivering food.... to where people live in a metro area. That issue aside, I would order again and prepare myself for the attitude problem that is delivered with your food! read more

Im with Matt, this place serves terrible food! This was the worst sushi i ever had in my whole entire life. I didn't even bother to ask for my money back since it was happy hour. And of course they didn't offer to comp me back for it . I had veggie spring rolls to start off. They were mushy from the inside. Like they might of over steamed the cabbage. Then i ordered a spinder roll. It was soo bad i had to spit it out just to find out what part was bad. The rice was old and crab must have been bad. Also the wasabi didn't even taste like wasabi....so not sure what that was. When i told the waiter she said they never had anyone tell her that . She went to the kitchen and came back to tell me the wasabi was made this morning and maybe i just got a bad batch of crab . I was craving Asian food, when I discovered this restaurant on yelp. The reviews seemed decent so I thought I'd give them a try. I was not disappointed! The prices are very fair and the food was delicious. I ordered their miso soup, pork gyoza, smoked salmon avocado roll and spicy tuna crunchy roll (I was particularly hungry that day). The steamed pork dumplings were to die for and so flavorful. I was most impressed by the sushi. Oh. My. God! The smoked salmon roll was so fresh and filling. My fat ass kept going and ate the tuna roll because the flavor was so good. 10/10 would definitely recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers if you're looking for quality sushi at a great price! read more
