No problem with the eye doctor (very good). However, the lady that handed out my glasses showed no interest in adjusting my new frames. I asked her to, but she put it back on me. Rather than argue, I simply accepted the glasses out of the box with no adjustments. I simply planned to return in a week to have one of the other very skilled people fix any problems. Of course they don't fit, they hurt my nose and I'm mostly wearing my old glasses. This is nonsense. The same thing happened with my last pair of glasses. My bifocals were too high because the nose rests and frames were not adjusted out of the box. I returned and found that my nose rests and fames were completely wrong. With an adjustment by the more skilled help the issue was fixed. S Rindfusz read more

I've had terrible experiences with SVS Brighton a while ago. about two years ago I gave them another chance and i was pleasantly surprised they seemed to have change and i had good service. i had gotten contacts about a month ago, the other place had changed my prescription. The doctor was asking me about my contacts and i told her about the script. She told me she wanted to get a trial contact to see if i liked it, i had assumed she offered to try to get me to get my contacts from them. After the eye exam the person who does the picking out the frames, she said i had to pay $75 for the contact exam? I told her i didn't get a contact exam just a glasses exam, then i asked about the trial contact the doctor recommended? They told me you don't get the trial contact if i don't get another exam, which i just had done 30 days ago. I said the doctor didn't say anything, she told me about a special picture i could get of my eye for $39 and i did pay that. They didn't acknowledge what i said, disregard my situation. so when i pick up my glasses today, they basically tossed them to me in the box and said "bye!". The first time i picked up my new glasses, they were so nice, they gave a cleaning kit, extra cleaner, a travel kit, then they made sure the glasses fit and were comfortable. This time was much different, i just got the "bye!". So i wish i could go back and take back my praise, it would be that that visit was the anomaly and the poor service is the norm. Very disappointing and won't be back. read more

I had an extremely frustrating experience today, March 27 2026 I booked my appointment online and showed up on time, only to be told--after driving all the way there--that my appointment had been canceled. No call, no email, no notification whatsoever. When I asked why it was canceled, the receptionist said, "I don't know." Then it somehow got worse--she claimed that I had called and canceled my own appointment, which is completely false. Why would I go out of my way to drive there if I had canceled it? When I asked whether they notify patients when appointments are canceled, she again responded with, "I don't know if it notifies you or not." That level of confusion and lack of accountability is unacceptable. And then the only "solution" offered was to reschedule me for next Thursday morning. Why would I come back here after my appointment was canceled without any notification, only to be told it was somehow my fault? That's not a solution--that's doubling down on poor service. This was incredibly unprofessional from start to finish. Poor communication, inaccurate information, and zero accountability. I would strongly recommend going somewhere else. read more

I booked an appointment online and when I went in for the appointment, I got told that it was canceled because they didn't have my address on file and that they tried to call me. But when I checked my phone log, I did not get a phone call from them or an email stating any of this information or that my appointment was canceled. This was very unprofessional and I was told I would need to schedule another appointment for another day. I took time off of work for this appointment. I would not recommend for anybody to book their appointment online. And I would recommend if you do have an appointment to make sure you call them to confirm it before you waste your time to go in. If somebody that works, there is reading this review. Please look into this because it's not an operator error on the customers end it's definitely something to do with either an employee or their system because I've seen another review from somebody who went through the same situation. You would think that they would have fixed it by now. read more

SVS vision quality of frames has gone down to about the flimsiest cheapest frames there are. I take great care my glasses and the frame broke SVS does not stand by their product. I've never had a pair glasses break before read more

I would never trust my eyes with anyone else but Dr. Rudick. This is a guy who loves what he does. He takes great care in the appointment and you never feel rushed. read more

Had a very unpleasant experience here. The doctor was 15 minutes late for my appointment because he took a late lunch. Then, the receptionist were very rude and unwelcoming. The whole appointment was mostly just lights being shined in my eyes rather than checking my vision. Also did not like that the doctor touched my face and was close enough were his nose brushed my cheek. Felt pressured to pick glasses. Upon pickup the lady was very rude when I told her the prescription felt off and didn't believe me. I do not recommend and will not be back. Gave 2 stars because I like the Frame options. read more

I've been coming here for years and have yet to find something wrong. Appointments are easy to schedule. The entire staff is polite and friendly. Turnaround from the order date is astounding. I highly recommend SVS. read more

The doctor is very friendly. He listened to my concerns and made adjustments to my prescription. However there seemed to be a little disagreement between office staff. The office manager seemed to be reprimanding another worker while myself and other patients were in the lobby. This seemed very unprofessional and was embarrassing to over hear. read more

Called to make an appointment and verify my insurance was accepted, the woman who answered was most unhelpful and said my insurance was not accepted, called my insurance provided and they informed me they do accept and all they would need to to is call. I called SVS back and got same woman that looked up my insurance on a web site for a second time and was unwilling to call the provider to verify. Have gone here for years and will never be returning read more

The front desk was kind and helpful and the doctor was friendly and did his job! only complaint is the company should make their cancelation policy more clear in my opinion. Again everyone was great but I made my appointment 2 days before, I received a few calls I wasn't able to get to them and when I called back it took me straight to a automated voice and it said it was just a reminder for my appointment so I didn't bother to reach a actual front desk employee. But when I came in for my appointment they said it got canceled because they need verbal confirmation. They were kind and able to me an appointment an hour later. i do not blame the workers! They were great! Just wish the company would make their cancellation policies more clear. read more

Excellent eye center. Doctor was very professional and listened to my concerns. Paired me with the right type of glasses for my work, which requires me to look at computer screens for hours. read more

I have been wearing glasses for 40 years. This is the worst pair of glasses I have ever purchased. The people were nice & the frames are nice & lightweight but the doctor did not measure my eye distance correctly. I have to turn my head sideways to find the sweet spot. They are garbage & I am wearing my old glasses for another year. I do not recommend. read more

I appreciate the friendly, professional service, especially the PPE measures in place.

The Doctor and staff are very professional, pleasant and efficient! The staff was so helpful and patient with me as I tried on soooo many glasses. They helped me select the perfect pair of glasses! Also, a few months ago, they were able to help my husband with a quick repair and adjustment to his frames. Great care and service from this team at Brighton!! Thank you!! read more

I was really impressed with this SVS location! I have gone to others and had good experiences, but this one was above and beyond to the point where I called all of my family to tell them how great my time there was. The appointment for my contacts and glasses was quick, easy, and stress-free. When picking out my glasses, the woman helping me told me to take a seat, asked what kinds of glasses I was looking for, and then picked a whole basket of options for me to try. I was able to pick out my glasses within 5-10 minutes! Everyone was friendly, had smiles on their faces, and were all More than willing to help me. Thanks SVS Brighton! read more

Terrible experience, don't overpay for glasses like I did, avoid this branch at all cost, I won't bother with a lengthy review since it will just be removed like all the other 111 "reviews that are not currently recommended". read more

My wife and I booked appointments weeks ago and confirmed our appointments earlier in the week. I have purchased many pair of glasses at SVS, so in other words have contributed to their revenue. I purchased three pair of glasses prior to Covid for over one thousand dollars. One of the pair was way to big, and after trying to adjust them, the clerk said try them and I could return them if I was not happy. Covid hit and the business was obviously closed for months. I never wore the glasses because they were falling off of my face. I waited awhile to contact SVS because I, like most people, did not feel I needed unnecessary contact. Even under these unprecedented times, they held firm to their policy. I am holding firm to never return as a customer again. read more

I had a great experience at SVS! The reception was very friendly and accommodating. The eye doctor was very professional, yet had a dry sense of humor I got a kick out of. He's a delight! My eye exam was very thorough and the doc was able to answer any questions or concerns I came up with to my satisfaction. Checkout was a breeze, also handled by a friendly and professional lady. She checked my insurance and discovered my entire visit was covered! I was not expecting that, so just the icing on the cake of a lovely visit! I will return again and definitely recommend SVS. Thank you guys! read more

This is an updated review. I purchased frames at another location and they were the display pair and the associate assured me they would be okay. After wearing them a few days they stretched out and would not stay on my face. I had them adjusted and again, they continued to fall off. Came back to Brighton and the manager let me pick a whole new frame out. I am so satisfied with the interaction and assistance I received in picking a new pair out too. Thank you SVS for providing me with new frames that stay on my face! read more

Do not go here... Doctors are good but the help not so good... They sell sub standard material/glasses. When I picked up my new glasses and was trying them on the lens fell out due to a missing screw/no quality. The girl tried to install an over sized screw and thought they were okay to wear, the screw was very visible. I requested a new pair. Took another week to get them but the lens fell out again a few days later. I called back to turn them in for a refund. I was told they had to talk with the manager/director and that they would call me back. It has now been 2 and a half months and still have had no call back. I paid over $1K for mine and wife's glasses and by the way, my wife's glasses are falling apart also. Do not go here... Tim D. Howell read more

I will not be returning business here. I had a pair of safety glasses for 3 months, barely used. They fell off an end table while open and the right arm of the frames broke right off. I went back to get it fixed and apparently it didn't fall under warranty. They covered part of the cost, but charged me for the replacement frames. If you still decide to bring your business here don't but any of the Hudson frames. They are garbage. read more

I was very happy with the doctor and the associate. They were very careful regarding safety due to COVID. Pleasant to work with.

Went for an eye exam and didn't like any of the glasses they carried. I asked for my script and measurements to get glasses elsewhere. I was told "I don't measur anything if you don't but glasses here" even though I just had an eye exam there and had brought them business. The woman was rude and I would not do business with them in the future. They also would not release my pre-authorization in materials for me to buy glasses elsewhere. Stay away! read more

Happy with the initial appointment/exam and help in picking out new frames. At the appointment to pick up my glasses I was unhappy with the frames that were delivered as the color was much different from those tried on in the store. The staff was willing and able to swap out the frames with one in the store for me. I would suggest that staff notify customers in advance that there may be a difference color for certain frames. Customers may steer clear of ordering those frames if notified upfront. Regardless I walked out the door with a pair of frames and lenses that I was satisfied with. read more

I give the optometrist dr .. a good review. Waiting to receive my glasses. Went there bcuz they accept my insurance .. hopefully there won't be issues with picking up glasses. I must confirm that the front office employees are RUDE. I had to remind the lady abt exactly what my prescription was. Had I not informed her abt my exam I would have gotten the wrong prescription.. ugh. I would recommended the Dr .. yet my puzzled as to why they allow front office employees to have zero Customer Service Skills. :( read more

NEVER,NEVER, NEVER get glasses from SVS Vision in Brighton! Just got back with new glasses (4th reorder). Distance vision was ok, but when I got home and got on my computer I couldn't read it.Had to put on my old glasses to see the screen! Since this was through my insurance ending in Dec, I am screwed! These people have no idea what they are doing and I am not going to reorder a 5th time, ugh... When I can afford it, I'll take the frames to Costco and see if I can Have new lenses put in them. Also, got attitude from 2 of the employees! I have been wearing glasses since I was a kid and have NEVER had this kind of BS to deal with! read more

For the past two years this is the only place that will accept my vision insurance. The first pair of glasses I bought was heavily scratched 6 months later. I returned, they claimed it was a bad batch of scratch-resistant coatings, so I bought a temporary pair online and they sent them back free of charge. After being returned to me that pair was equally scratched in another 6 months. I have been buying glasses for YEARS from other companies and NEVER had this problem. This year I decided to give them a second chance and buy another pair through them. Now 6 months later I'm replacing them for the same reason. I'm also fairly certain their eye exam gave me conjunctivitis because it was the only thing I did out of the ordinary 2-3 days before my first eye went pink to be followed by the other eye several days later. My appointment was on a Saturday with a nice black gentleman who might need a refresher on how to clean and disinfect the equipment! I tried explaining this to the staff when first diagnosed only to be politely told it was a problem for an ophthalmologist and NOT an optometrist thereby disregarding my complaint entirely. My advice? Stick to Tomz Optical (great guy and local business) or get a cheap eye exam at Meijer and purchase your frames and lenses online. read more
