I used to love Stadium Opticians and have been a patient there for years. The past two times I've gone I have found the people working there rude and curt. The doctor that did my exam barely spoke and then when I tried to get the prescription sent over to Kellogg to make the progressives was told they hadn't done a glasses exam and I would need to schedule another exam. I specifically told them when scheduling AND to the doctor who did my exam that I was there to renew my contacts and get progressives. They eventually sent over a prescription to Kellogg and it is completely wrong. When I called today to ask for an appointment to have it double checked the man answering the phone was completely rude and dismissive and told me there was a system for these things and asking for an appointment was further down the line. I'll be going somewhere else to have the glasses fixed and won't be returning to Stadium Opticians. read more

Slow and rude service. I walked in, stood there for 10-15 minutes before someone talked to me, then waited 30 -40 minutes since they asked me to wait and someone will be helping me. I got no service at all but standing there for a long time, no one comes to tell me what's going on and I can't find anyone around, there was only one other customer before me, he was also waiting. read more

After my local D.O.C closed I was scrambling to find another optician that would take my insurance (VSP). Stadium Opticians was one of the few who would who actually could schedule an exam in less than two weeks. This was actually lucky for me, as the people here are among the most professional and accommodating I've used. SO carries a wide selection of frames, many of which are very economical--my wife and I both recently bought pairs from the 2 for 1 line (good quality with a big break on the price) and are very happy with them. The technicians there have all been with SO through the roughly three years I've gotten glasses there and it's clear these are professionals, not people hired off the street and given a little training such as you often run into in mall stores. At fittings, they seem to have a better sense of how new glasses are sitting than I do--I think, yeah, these fit fine, but the technician will take them back, make some small adjustment, and they will fit even better afterward. When I've gone in to have glasses tightened a year or so after getting them, they perform the adjustment quickly and cheerfully. No reason so far to consider another purveyor for my eyeware, even though they're on the opposite side of town from me. See you in another two years, guys. read more

I have been going to Stadium Opticians for many years. My eyes are examined by Dr. Barry Fuller, but when it is time for new glasses I always take the prescription to Stadium Opticians. Why? Not sure. I think because they are conveniently located, dependable, knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, relatively quick to have my new glasses ready for pick-up, and they make me feel like I want to go back. I was thankful for TJ's review. I, too, am fortunate enough to have vision insurance right now. Back when I didn't, and even a few times when I did, I would hit up SEE Eyewear. I really like Dr. Kang and all of the staff there. However, now that I have VSP and just need contacts, I figured I should go to a VSP-approved doc so that I wouldn't have as much up-front out of pocket expense. I hadn't had as great of an experience with simply ordering contacts at Bennett, so I figured I'd give someone else in the network a shot. I was able to get in to see Dr. Pierce, and he was friendly, professional, and efficient. The receptionist was very pleasant to deal with as well. You know how sometimes medical receptionists are really cranky (I don't blame them, if I had had to deal with insurance all say, I'd probably be cranky too)? The woman helping here didn't have a single ounce of crankiness. In fact, quite the opposite. Note: If you park in the back and go through that entrance, you'll have to head to your right once you go through the door to get to the appointment check-in/waiting area. One wonderfully convenient thing? They had my type of contacts -- Acuvue Oasys (what IS it with contacts and their weirdly-spelled names?!) -- in stock. So instead of ordering something in, having to call back and forth a bunch of times, etc., I was simply able to walk out with 2 boxes of what I needed for a tiny co-pay. On a random note: I also really liked the giant "Human Eye" diagram hung in the room. I was almost going to ask where I could order a copy, but I realized that might come across as a little weird. For glasses, I still might hit up SEE, but for an exam and contacts, as long as I have VSP, this seems to be a solid spot. read more

In effort to help those glasses/contact wearing people in the area I humbly submit this review of Stadium Opticians. This is a local run shop that has been in business for as long as I can remember. I used to go to DOC, Pearl blah blah, until my health insurance changed to VSP kind. They happily accepted my insurance and I've been going there for the past 8 years or so. My mother also goes here now and my wife will be going next time she needs glasses. The doctors are friendly, the receptionist has always been pleasant and competent. They have a nice selection of frames. I've probably have bought at least 6 pairs of glasses from there. I used to be into nike frames, lately I've been buying gargoyles. Really what makes the store are the personable guys that sell and service the glasses. They are very knowledgeable, and if you buy glasses from there they will often fix or realign the glasses for free. These guys are awesome. So buy local and enjoy. read more

The staff was all in compliance with the Covid-19 regulations and were incredibly helpful and kind. Their seamless organization allowed me to estate through my eye exam, lens prescription exam, and lens fitting all within a short amount of time! The level of care during all of this was fantastic! I have gone to Stadium Opticians for many years (~20) and they used to be quite good. However, when I went this year I found that the people who used to work there were gone and there was an entirely different crew. Sadly, this new group did not compare in customer service. For example, two different people were involved in selling me a new pair of glasses and fitting them when I picked them up. There was no communication between these people. I was purchasing two pairs of glasses, one using an old frame, but that pair was still costing ~$500. Thus, I was quite disappointed to see that they could not be bothered to replace the nose pads (which would have cost them less than a dollar), and even more amazing the second person tried to give them to me without any ear guards/temple tips. This guy actually hands me the glasses with only the sharp thin metal temple ends exposed (the first person had removed them, promising to have them replaced). He seemed a little put out that I asked him to add those. He also handed me a glasses case that doesn't even fit my glasses. So, the quality of the service has gone so low that I will not be going back. read more

When our long time optician retired rather suddenly after decades I was left without an optician to help keep my wonderful but somewhat complicated frames in shape. 18008777195 I am very surprised where these positive reviews come from because my experience was totally opposite. I went there for glasses prescription. My situation is a little complicated, which makes it hard for me to get the right lenses and I need to put different trial lenses to see if I am comfortable with the combination of both sides of lenses. The doctor was super impatient and unprofessional. He wrote prescriptions without letting me try the trial lenses set! When he walked me out, I mentioned I want to try the trial lenses to see if it works, he looked super unhappy. But I insisted so he asked someone to find one. For the moment I put that trial lenses using his prescription, I immediately felt dizzy and cannot wear it for more than 10seconds. So I asked him to rewrite the prescription. Then he just changed some numbers on my prescription and told me Im all set. Again, without letting me try the trial lenses. I don't want to deal with this situation anymore since he looked very unhappy so I left his office. However, I know I won't be able to use his prescription since I never tried those lenses on so I don't know if I can see clearly with them or im comfortable with them, or I will get dizzy. But based on my experience with his first prescription Im pretty sure it won't work. I came back again. But this time the doctor told me since I haven't wear any glasses before so he doesn't know where to start. You don't know where to start so you just guess and put random parameters without letting your patients try if it really works? Sure I cannot wear those lenses for day long to test, but even two minutes will help a lot for me to find right lenses! So impatient so unprofessional and irresponsible! Few years ago I had another doctor to help me do prescription. Still, it's almost not possible for me to find the perfect prescription. However, the doctor I had at that time was very professional. She let me try different trial lenses and ask my feelings to determine the best one. It wasn't the perfect one but her prescription works much much better than the one I got here. I can see much more clear with minimum dizzy feeling. In the end I just ask the doctor at Stadium Opticians to copy from the old but expired prescription. read more

They are fantastic at Stadium Opticians!! The glasses selection is a little small, but the customer service is outstanding. I had my eye appt here and then went to another optometrist to get my glasses. The other place messed up on the order with the lenses, and refused to re-make them without charging me. I brought my glasses back to Stadium Opticians, and they traced the lenses, re-made them, and got them to me in a timely manner without charging me extra. They go out of their way here to make sure you can see!! HIGHLY recommend it. read more

They were fine with me bringing in frames from SEE, too, which doesn't take my insurance but has the most fun eyewear options around here. These guys are great. Very good service without being in your face or, at the other extreme, hipper than thou. Very personalized service and they know what they're doing, and do things right. My story: they id'd an unevenness between my eye (pupil) levels that had been making my glasses slightly off kilter for years. I visited Stadium Opticians and found there service to be Excellent and the accepted my insurance. There turn around time was great and they also grind there own lenses to fit all of there frames. I found out that supply most of the local optical shops with there custom work. If you need glasses or contacts this is the place to go. If they cant get it or make it, it doesnt exist!!!!! The Doctor that gave me my exam was professional, courteous and knowledgable. I will never go anywhere else for my eyecare needs. read more

My family has obtained all of its glasses from Stadium Opticians for more than 30 years. As a group of friendly professionals who treat their customers exceptionally well, they will have our business as long as they (and we) are around! They devote a good deal of time to making sure that the glasses' prescriptions are filled correctly, that the frames fit and that the lenses are properly treated for scratch resistance and colour changes if that is an integral part of the eye wear's function. They perform repairs quickly and expertly. Most of all, they are collegial and discuss all aspects of filling the prescription very straightforwardly, never condescending to their customers. My left eye could only see the first line in the snelling chart whereas my right eye had 20/15 vision. The doctors response was that I had dry eye. He gave me gel for it and when I got home I found that it had expired some time ago. I've experienced much better. read more
