This is my second time coming here and it will be my last. The first time I came was a few years back on New Years Eve and the food was rather underwhelming. But I've kept those circumstances in mind and have always wanted to try them again. Well, I'm very sorry I did. My parents and I went there for dinner and I'm not sure how they could've butchered my mom's meal any worse. She ordered the chicken and sausage but asked for spinach and broccoli to sub for the potatoes and peppers (she's on Atkins). My dad ordered the same thing, but wanted mushrooms. When we got our meal my mom's plate had mushrooms (which she just said she'd pick out after the server realized the mistake), which she could deal with. But after picking out the mushrooms and 6 WHOLE cloves of garlic out of her meal she realized they didn't put any of the meat in there. After telling the server, she finally (after my dad and I were already finished) got the meat to add to her already cold bowl of veggies and Alfredo. So I've worked in a few restaurants and understand these things happen, especially when making special requests on meals. But what I can't abide is the fact that a manager NEVER visited our table; and it even seemed like he was avoiding our table while visiting other tables. To top it off, my mom still had to pay full price for her meal that was not fully ready to eat until the rest of the table had finished. **I would like to also point out that my dad's meal wasn't right either (they put the wrong sauce on it), but he opted to keep it rather than wait for another plate to be cooked. read more

So I want to preface this by saying I DID NOT ACTUALLY EAT HERE. I tried VERY hard to eat here. I just moved into town for work and my office is right by Sutton's. I am the office manager and we provide lunch for our staff of 65, 2-3 times per week. Since I am the office manager I am in charge of the ordering. I saw that Suttons had online ordering and was happy because in my last position I would use only restaurants with this convenience. I tried for literally 20 minutes to place my office order and the online system kicked me out once so I switched computers thinking it was me. Then it froze, and made me start over. By the time I actually got to the "place order" screen it was so hard to figure out how to use it plus extremely slow that I just called it quits and ordered else where. *Just a note to the owner (if you read these): If you offer something to your customer, it is a reflection on your business. I never want to tell you how to run your business, but I really would love to utilize you in the future. If you ever get that fixed please let me know! read more

Wonderful food and atmosphere. The wait staff was great and very accommodating. By far the favorite Italian restaurant in town.

We had an event catered by Suttons and could not be more pleased. The pasta was delicious and very reasonably priced. On their website they have a catering menu with many different items to choose from. Each pasta serves around 6-8. We had 16 people and 3 pastas were perfect. Just call the number or email from their catering menu and someone will be in contact with you quickly. We had the ravioli, chicken and broccoli, and sun dried tomato pasta with chicken. I could not pick a favorite they were all so good. It was already on time and brought out to our car when we arrived. The food was still hot when we served it 45 minutes later. I highly recommend them for any event you need catered. We can't wait to dine in sometime soon! read more

Wish I could actually provide a review of the food and service, however all I can comment on is the soft drinks. My family decided to visit based on catering my wife's corporation received. We arrived, seated promptly and received drinks. A full 35 minutes later.....no sign of our server. No bread, no additional drinks, no dinner order...nothing. Sadly we chose to leave the establishment. What's worse when telling, what I am assuming, was a manger why we were leaving, I got a blank stare. No I'm sorry, no we will check on that, nothing other than a stare and grabbing a clipboard. No remediation tactics what so ever. First time to this establishment since moving here. We will not be back based on the experience, or the lack of accountability from management. read more

First time at Sutton's, was on Mother's Day around 2. Super friendly staff, quick service, loved the patio seating and all my kids loved their pizza and spaghetti however my husbands steak had absolutely no flavor whatsoever and my chicken Marsala was bland. We did enjoy the appetizer sampler with the pepperoni pups, stuffed mushrooms and meatballs. All in all it was an okay experience. read more

This is by far one of my favorite places to eat, drink, and be merry in Lexington. The food is so good. The flatbread pizza is my go to. The crust is amazing. I also like the atmosphere. This is one of my very favorite places to eat in Lexington. I've had several different entrees and they were all fine, but they may have been delicious if I hadn't filled up on appetizers. It was a mediocre dinning experience. The food...for the most part...was acceptable but nothing special. And...for the price...it should be unquestionably good. I probably would have given a higher rating if the server had been better. He appeared to be struggling for the moment he walked up to our table. He needed prompting to remember our salads and...as a result...we were still eating them when the main course arrived. Major fail in my book. My wife and I were driving southbound on I71 towards Sparta, KY when a newer Nissan Armada kept riding our rear ends. He tried to pass several times but traffic was too thick. Each time he did he accelerated to over 90 mph and then slammed on his brakes just to get back behind us. Once he past us he also cut us off on the front end as well as several other people as he weaved his way through traffic. We had to do almost 95 mph just to catch up with him and get the phone number off of the side of the vehicle. The magnet said Sutton's Restaurant and had a phone number so my wife called to complain. The person who answered was at the restaurant but stated that it was the owner's vehicle and that she would pass along the message. We continued to follow him to Indiana where we found he was going to the casino. Hate to see how he drives after an afternoon of losing money and drinking. I would definitely not contribute to this business due to the owners lack of caring or respect for others. read more

I loved Sutton's the first few times I went. I even had a going away party there with 10 of us. I had given them a lot of business, even referred them to others. I haven't returned in over a year, I will never go back. I had a huge issue with customer service. I sent the owners a complaint via their website. They never responded to acknowledge the situation. I wasn't looking for anything free, just an apology. I live about a mile away and thought I might have another "go-to" restaurant. The service was slow and the wait staff was not helpful with suggestions! Considering it was a Friday night around 6:30p.m & the restaurant wasn't even half full (that should have been our sign)! Ordered a children's pizza, they forgot to cut it (they discovered this on their own) I would have cut it with a knife on the table. So they take the child's pizza back and forget it. Five minutes later they tell us it was thrown away and they needed to make another. Ten minutes later, the meal was delivered. The child was not overly happy having adults sitting around him eating and he had nothing. Thank goodness he has good manners! We received a half hearted apology and that was that, no big deal to them! Mushroom stuffed Ravioli was far to chewy. The other dish, a shrimp pasta of some sort, had a whopping 4 shrimp on the dish! Chocolate Mousse was chocolate pudding mixed with some whipped cream or that was at least how it tasted. The Tiramisu, a dry layer cake that tasted worse than something I could pull off with a boxed cake mix, actually we have had better cakes made from boxed products. I have had much better quality, taste and amount of food at many other restaurants. With a choice, this would not be my first place to dine! read more

We normally order from here about twice a month. Haven't had issues until Tonight. I just ordered a white pizza due to not liking pizza sauce. There's pizza sauce all over my white pizza. I tried to call three times now for some kind of resolution and it's busy. Very disappointed and turned off completely to ordering here again. To order this pizza, I changed NOTHING and expected to get what was described. All other options were a cost to add extra sauce. I also ordered pasta which was supposed to have red peppers and had two tiny pieces of peppers but plenty of asparagus. What is described is not what you get. And if the order "made no sense" you have my phone number to call me and ensure my order was correct. If you're also going to insult your customers based on an online order system YOU are responsible for then you have certainly lost customers for life. read more

My husband, his family, and I went here last Sunday night and it was pretty good! We didn't have a reservation, but they still managed to seat our large group almost right away. The space is a little dark and cramped, but the mood is good and it is not too loud. We had calamari as an appetizer: it was good but nothing special. We all tried different main dishes, and the favorites were their fra diavalo and the chicken Gorgonzola. The portions were large and the prices were decent. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The stuffed baked mushrooms were OK but disappointing, as the sausage stuffing seemed bland and the mushrooms were small. The wife's sandwich was good. My bourbon burger was excellent. Something has changed with some of their food...Seafood Platter $27 for a small portion of unflavored, obviously frozen, unseasoned Mahi Mahi, 3 teaspoon sized scallops, 3 small shrimp, 18 French fries left a bit to be desired; restaurant complimentary small loaf of bread for a table of 5, was chintzy & I was embarrassed the server never brought more after it was requested. No bread with Italian entrees, come on!Caesar salad $4 add-on was acceptable, but small--they do give one anchovy if you request; $9 flatbread Marguerite was nice (2 pieces each) & a special appetizer to lead into our Italian dinner; baked spaghetti was great!; pasta Giovana was great, but had no spicy seasoning as the menu stated; pasta Arrabbiata was medium spiced, could have been spicier since it had a menu warning, but tasty; the truly concerning & big disappointment was the seafood platter & when compared to other high end restaurants in town, it needs a reworking! Throwing some more fries & making the plate look full & at the very least containing what was pictured & described would have been grand. I've only had appetizers and drinks, and have only sat in the bar area, so my review is based on that. The atmosphere is fabulous. Tall bar tables that are actually large enough to hold appetizers and drinks. Several televisions (on silent) for the sports fans. Old black & white prohibition-era photographs for everyone else (Al Capone pics and several mug shots are part of the fun collection). Beautiful bar with lots of options, including a decent wine list. The bread & oil provided is amazing. Warm, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside -- everything a loaf of bread should be. The bruschetta appetizer was my favorite; it tasted very fresh. My boyfriend and our friend enjoyed the pepperoni pups (deep-fried balls of pizza), which are served with marinara sauce. Those were a bit too salty and greasy for me, but my assessment may not be fair as I certainly wouldn't have chosen to order it in the first place. As I said, the dudes liked them -- and that allowed me to eat most of the bruschetta. Great place to grab drinks with friends. I will come back in the future for a full meal. read more

Went to Suttons and I had a special coupon. Buy an entree and get one at or less value for free. I called in to place my order for carryout. When I got there, I was awaiting at that desk thing where waiters wait you to your table. The guy was on his phone; but I think the owner, who was sitting down helped me to realize that I was suppose to go to the bar to get the carryout (he looked like George Lopez btw). Anywho, I get to the bar and I wait a while, maybe like 10 minutes until the order comes out. I say my thanks and leave a tip. Through all this, the gal, Marina, was courteous and always said "Sir Borkar" and "Mr. Borkar". I love it! I ended up ordering the hot brown, porkchop, and suated mushrooms. All were good. Even the free bread they gave. If there was any downside to this place on food, I would say that the porkchop was kind of tough really..both to cut and chomp on. Probably because it went cold. Then again, it was only covered with aluminum foil on the bottom of a styrofoam/plastic carry out box. Ah well. Cannot win them all. read more

One of favorite places in Lexington. Always stop by for dinner when I'm in town. The food is great, and I have tried at least half of the menu. The pastas have always been a good choice as well as the pizza. The appetizers are delicious too. The serving sizes are huge, and everything is well priced. Service has always been wonderful! First time a friend and I went, we had Bryce as our server and now every time we go, we have to sit in his section - we even made the manager switch his sections to be on the patio. If you get the chance to sit on the patio, you should. It's a great place to sit and enjoy the good weather during the summer. Wine Down Wednesdays are a favorite of mine - they have half price bottles of wine and include a good local variety including Jean Farris! If you don't finish the bottle, they'll re-cork it and bag it up for you to take home. read more

Would give them a zero if possible. Went there last weekend to book a group of 17 for May 29th. Girl takes the reservation and says all is good, then asks what day of the week it is. We tell her it's a Saturday and the group is coming in from all around the country. She then tells us reservation is no good because it's Saturday, and they will only take reservations Mon-Fri. Ask for Manager to see about an exception, believe his name was John( not really sure), he tells us no exceptions for Saturday. So 17 Vets who were looking at having a meal at this place will spend their money elsewhere. Food was very good and plentiful - more than enough for lunch the next day. Drinks and bread refilled without asking. Calamari appetizer. Entrees of Fra Diavolo, Chicken Alfredo, Baked Chicken & Broccoli, Sausage Arrabiata, & Classic Alfredo linguini were all excellent. I know Sutton's has been here a few years and I had tried it a couple years ago but was underwhelmed by it. That was when it first opened I guess. It just wasn't enough to bring Me back. We decided on a whim With friends to stop in for dinner on the Sat before VDay while we let the kids play at the parents night out. Even though they had a wait the bar are was still seat yourself and we were lucky to grab the last 4 top table. I ordered their chicken Parmesan. It may not be the best hands down, but it was good and the portion enough for 2. My husband got the flank steak and he said it had great flavor. Prices were in line with most Italian restaurants. I would come back again. My husband is t a big Italian fan but at least he can eat steak! read more

Came here at 1230am and one of only few Lexington spots that serve food past midnight. Sutton's is located in the Kroger Plaza on Richmond Road near Man O' War. During late night hours, they serve appetizers and flatbread pizza. Obviously, with a hard workout today, I opted for a plain flatbread pizza. The sauce is a bit dry and need more flavor. It felt like I was eating Ellio's pizza (Popular in the NE) but the pizza is function-able. The server was pleasant and it's just wicked late night meaning you are not going to get top notch food but just edible stuff. Only if we can get some authentic 24/7 food joints here in town rather than depending on well known chains. This was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant. Our waitress August was pleasant but could not bring items together. She brought us drinks and then came back with the straws. It took at least 20 minutes to bring our bread. Our table of 2 couples, all having caesar salad, had no dressing on the salad. I asked 2 different people before we could get any dressing. From the time we came in and sat down, it was 1 1/2 hours before our food was brought to us. The manager never came out to see how our meal was going. read more

I tried this restaurant for the first time via delivery. I had the eggplant parmigiana and garlic bread. The bread was bad and had absolutely no flavor. I highly recommend not ordering it. I thought my meal was just ok. The sauce tasted like it came from a can and I expect more from a restaurant specializing in Italian food. Portion size was huge and it arrived hot. I just was hoping to be more impressed. I think the fast food Italian place we have around town is actually better and cheaper, sadly. read more
