Sushibruce Ya is 10/10! Visited yesterday for the first time and I think sushibruce is now my favorite sushi spot in the city. Inside has a very cozy and intimate feel with modern boho decor influence. Staff was very welcoming and we were able to get seated quickly & have our order taken within the first 10 minutes of being seated. We ordered the calamari (10/10) which was my favorite item. Cooked to a perfect crisp & seasoned well. It was very fresh also. For our rolls we got the "Who's Your Daddy?" (8/10) & the "Hot Night Baby!" (9/10). The flavor profile on both was very good. Who's your daddy feature a seared piece of albacore tuna on top which added a nice smoke flavor. The hot night baby was my favorite, spicy tuna on top with shrimp tempura in the inside. One thing that I did appreciate is the menu, easy to read & straight forward. They have about 20 specialty rolls to choose from, your everyday classic maki rolls, appetizers, salads, and poki bowls. It makes it easier during the ordering process & you feel less "anxious" not having to choose from pages and pages of rolls like some other places. All things considered, for the lack of sushi in Bmore despite being by the water, this place is decent for a fast casual spot! The quality of the fish is good - buttery, no fishy smell and soft. Most of the menu is fried rolls though with some nigiri and sashimi (very limited). Personally we love the sushi burrito (I know, crazy - but trust it's filled with so much meat and tastes good) and its giant mega parent version, the Full Option. I swear you can share that with someone and be full. Beware that there is auto gratuity included on every bill. First off I wanna say I'm from the Bay Area where the sushi and seafood and ethnic food is beyond anything else I've had anywhere else in the US. Sushibruce is my new favorite sushi restaurant of all time. The fish was so fresh, I was impressed with the size of the fish and the servings. Everything tasted so yummy. Nothing had too much sauce which is something I appreciate in a sushi restaurant. You could really taste each flavor. The presentation and atmosphere was incredible. All the staff were so kind. I'd recommend this as a good date spot, somewhere to go with friends or family or even to celebrate. It is rather quiet in the restaurant which I liked. You can have good conversation. What a beautiful restaurant. Definitely the perfect place for a date or intimate meal. I was with my grandbaby during the day but we were still treated as valued customers. The waitress was very nice and accommodating. The sushi was good. I wanted one roll on the menu but discovered it was discontinued and so I tried what the waitress recommended and did not really care for it but I had orders a California rill (for the baby) and a Philadelphia roll so I was very satisfied. I dined in at Sushibruce Ya and had the Sure Thing special roll -- and I enjoyed it and would order it again. The roll had spicy salmon and avocado layered over a shrimp tempura crunch base, finished with slices of jalapeño, a drizzle of soy dressing, sriracha, and masago. The roll wad fresh and flavorful and loaded. I also ordered the seaweed salad, which was a nice way to start the meal. For drinks, I tried their hot sake. I'm not very familiar with sake, so I'm trying to explore more. See the picture to see the ceramic sake flask and cup it was served in, which I enjoyed. Regarding the service, everyone was kind when they did come by, but it felt like I spent more time waiting to be noticed than actually being checked on. Sometimes this can happen with restaurants but I don't know if that's their norm. The restaurant is small but fits a good amount of tables for the size. The ambiance is set by the dim lighting. All in all, I would return. I'd like to try more rolls and see what future dining experiences have in store. read more

This is the best sushi I've had in a while! I heard recommendations about this sushi place while in Baltimore area, so we had to check it out. Such a great sushi spot! I love Shoyu in Fed Hill so it's great this place is also by the same owner. The inside is intimate and nicely decorated. There was one staff member working the front during the lunch timeframe. My friend and I ordered hot tea which came in a cute teapot. Best sushi in Baltimore! Sushibruce doesn't take reservations but we timed our Saturday evening dinner early enough to avoid a wait to be seated. It's a medium-sized, beautifully designed dining room with lots of different textures on the walls. The adult beverage menu includes Sake, Wine and Beer (not a full bar) but the sushi is without a doubt the star. Fresh fish and creative combinations make for delicious special rolls like "Who's Your Daddy" (spicy tuna and shrimp tempura, topped with seared albacore and avocado) and "Hot Night Baby" (spicy tuna and avocado on top of a shrimp tempura crunch roll). I came to Sushibruce Ya on a Saturday evening. No reservation needed because it was hardly anyone in there around 6pm. Sat at a booth and had some Miso soup to start on this cold evening. Can't go wrong with Miso. We then wanted to order the Creamy Tempura Shrimp appetizer but was told they are sold out of it for a while. Saw this on the menu prior to coming so I was really looking forward to trying it which is reason why I had to deduct a star. They were also out of a particular Sake I wanted to try so I opted for a glass of white wine. What saved the day were the Ultimate Special Rolls. The Sweet Honey Roll was to die for and a mouthful. The Who's Your Daddy Roll had a nice, spicy kick to it. I ordered the salmon tempura roll to go because the other 2 were just fulfilling enough. All the specialty rolls were excellent and I would return to try those. Hopefully management will bring back the creamy tempura shrimp appetizer soon. read more

I had a few nigiri but what really got me irritated was when I asked the server about my maki roll. I was flabbergasted because she clearly had no clue what I was talking about. I didn't know they added gratuity which I don't appreciate. Apparently, this week is the best week to be in Fells Point! I had researched and found this place weeks ago, and we went for a late lunch. There was one other couple in this well-maintained and clean restaurant, so we were seated immediately and subsequently asked for our drink requests. Even though they don't do reservations, we were able to stop in on Valentine's night and be added to the waitlist, and seated within 15 minutes! This may have been the best sushi I've had in baltimore. Insanely fresh, fairly priced, and great portions. The miso soup and firecracker appetizers were also dieeee for. The maki California roll had a bit too much mayonnaise in the filling for my taste, but it was still delicious. I ate the sake (salmon) nigiri so fast I couldn't even take a picture, but the salmon was sooo tender and velvety, and it was gorgeously marbled with white stripes - it was picture perfect sake. The nigiri was so delicious we ordered the maguro (tuna) and the hamachi (yellowtail). We were stuffed, but committed, so we also had the Rainbow Roll, which was absolutely delicious but we basically had two California rolls.
