Crispy fried rice
Nikki K.

We sat at the flame room and can definitely say that the service, ambiance and food were great. Food: in the flame room you had the options to order from the main room but were required to select an entree from the flame - we opted for the land and sea option for 2 ($130) and went with the scallops and lamb chops. Both were cooked to absolute perfection. - the meal comes with 3 sauces: garlic, yum yum and a hot chili. Each paired well with the meal. - sides: seaweed salad, miso tofo soup and dessert. Drinks: super unique cocktails. I got a clarified milk punch cocktail which was our favorite. Their sake options are also really good and would highly recommend asking the staff for their favorites.

We stopped by for lunch and loved the location near the Inner Harbor with a beautiful waterfront view. The interior is nicely decorated with a classy, modern vibe, and the service was great; the staff was attentive and friendly. We ordered the miso soup, Wagyu fried rice, and the Azumi Royal Platter. The miso soup was a bit on the salty side, and the fried rice was slightly bland, though it seems it's meant to be mixed with the hot sauce, which helped. The sushi platter was beautifully presented, and the fish was fresh and good, but the flavors didn't really stand out. Overall, the experience was pleasant, but the food didn't quite wow us. We may have had better luck ordering different items from the menu. For the price point ($280), we're not sure it was worth it.

This place was a hop skip and a jump from the hotel I was staying at. I enjoyed the sushi. It was a very vibey and moody spot. Think a great place for a date, an intimate dinner or a birthday kinda spot. It was on the high end of the price range. The kinda spot where you gotta buy multiple bites to feel full and then you kinda look at the bill like wait...what did I spend it all on. Not knocking the quality but I believe me and my mama got 1 cocktail each, we both had miso soup. I had sushi and I forgot what she had and the bill was like $100 something plus. Cute spot. Nice vibes but a little pricey for a quick bite.

Azumi in Harbor East has officially become one of my favorite spots in Baltimore -- and the cocktails are a huge reason why. The moment you sit down, you can tell the bar program is taken seriously. Every drink feels intentional, well-balanced, and beautifully presented. I tried a few cocktails during my visit, and each one had its own personality. The flavors were fresh and layered, not overly sweet, and you could tell the ingredients were high-quality. I especially loved the Japanese-inspired twists -- touches of yuzu, ginger, and unique spirits that you don't find everywhere. It's the kind of place where you actually look forward to trying something new instead of sticking to your usual. The ambiance also adds to the experience. With the waterfront views, sleek décor, and upbeat but not overwhelming energy, it's easy to settle in and enjoy a drink (or two). The bartenders were friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly proud of their craft -- they made great recommendations and genuinely seemed to enjoy creating each cocktail. Whether you're grabbing a drink before dinner or making cocktails the main event, Azumi delivers. Perfect for date nights, celebrations, or any time you want to treat yourself to something a little elevated.

Wax On, Wax Off ($18)

Came here for a birthday dinner and had a wonderful experience overall. The food was beautifully presented, and our server, Valeriya was kind and accommodating throughout the night. APPETIZERS: Started with the Yellowtail Carpaccio ($19). It was light, fresh, and perfectly balanced with the onion jalapeno salsa and yuzu garlic soy. The Lamb Chop ($17) also had great flavor and tenderness even though it came out more medium-well than the medium-rare. Valeria immediately offered to replace it, which I appreciated. The Japanese seven-spice seasoning and kimchi on the side were excellent touches. ENTREE: The Grilled Spanish Branzino ($42) was well-cooked. The mushrooms over marinated rice in vinegar sauce was nice. I do wish there was more of the chimichurri sauce and the skin was more crispy. The Dry-Aged Black Angus Ribeye ($58) was okay with a subtle sweet sesame glaze. The potato puree was smooth and rich. I wish the steak had a little bit more flavor to it though. COCKTAILS: Azumi Lychee Martini ($19) was subtly sweet and refreshing Awayuki Spritz ($17) was light and floral, though not very sparkling at first. Valeriya kindly added more prosecco. Zenset ($18) was very unique. I would say this cocktail is an acquired taste. It is savory and umami-forward. Shinrin ($16) was a standout tropical drink that was creamy and aromatic Wax On, Wax Off ($18) was smooth and well-rounded. Our server, Valeriya recommended this one. It was slightly smoky with a hint of sweetness - definitely worth trying. DESSERT: The Fuji ($16) was a chocolate lava cake with black sesame ice cream. It was very rich, but I really loved the black sesame ice cream. They also brought out a complimentary scoop of vanilla ice cream for the birthday, which was nice. The ambiance was elegant and nice, perfect for a special occasion without feeling too formal. Overall, we had a lovely dining experience with excellent service, and creative cocktails.

Came here to celebrate a birthday and the atmosphere was lovely--definitely a nice spot for any occasion. The drinks were 10/10, very strong and you could actually taste the liquor. However, I was disappointed by the food, which didn't live up to the price point. I ordered the shrimp tempura and wagyu fried rice, and for what they cost, I expected much larger portions and actual chunks of wagyu. The food was nothing special. Probably wouldn't return given the value. Stars based on good drinks and service!

Yellowtail Jalapeno, tuna toro roll & crab fried rice
Chandra M.

Fresh! Succulent. Absolutely delicious! I will definitely be back. Everything we ate was divine... crispy calamari, yellowtail jalapeño roll, surf n turf roll, crunchy tuna toro roll, & crab fried rice with strawberry crumble & lava cake for dessert! The wagyu on the surf-n-turf roll with the chimichurri was melt in your mouth good! I know the flaming king crab gets all the praise and insta videos, but the surf-n-turf was absolutely amazing so much so we ate it so fast I forgot to snap a photo before it was gone! The lava cake comes with a hazelnut crumble, and sesame ice cream, all the flavors complimented each other perfectly! It was harmony in your mouth to end a great meal! 10 out of 10 experience & food!

Nicely dim lit restaurant alongside the water. Sushi is fresh and well seasoned. A5 Wagu nigiri melts in your mouth and is a burst of flavor. I'll be back for an encore of the A5 nigiri and to try the flaming sushi! TikTok: @jasephsfavs

I would say that this is the best sushi place in Baltimore if you don't enjoy sushi rolls. Their nigiri and sashimi were amazing and the presentation of everything was so nice. Our server was also so sweet and made our experience so amazing! The matcha manga cake we had for dessert was sooo incredible! We also had some champagne. Overall a great spot for date night. I think it's definitely a more upscale place but worth the experience once in a while! Walking along the water is also such a nice experience every time :)

Flaming king crab roll

Beautiful ambiance, we were lucky to have a lovely day to sit on the patio. There's a great view of the water. Service was a bit slow and we were forgotten/ignored often. When the server changed we had to find him to pay the bill which was annoying. The food was good so the only reason for the 4 star is the service. We had two great non alcoholic cocktails: the Ube lychee lemonade and the Kumano kodo were refreshing and the latter was not too sweet. We had a light starter, the seaweed salad, nothing to earth shattering but good nonetheless. Their signature roll, the flaming king crab, had a cool presentation atop a fiery rock plate. The taste was fine, but I would prefer the tuna tataki roll as the spice blend was really different. Aside from the presentation, I don't think the king crab is that much better than a regular sushi spot that offers similar rolls.

Ume Shiso
Noah B.

Had a very nice time at Azumi celebrating our anniversary. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit, and the restaurant was a good volume for conversation. By far the standout in our meal was the crispy rice with truffle avocado. It was absolutely incredible; an excellent combination of flavors, textures, and sauces. I would eagerly try their other variations of this dish. The king salmon nigiri melted in my mouth, which was pretty amazing. The salmon skewers were nice too. The only dish that we didn't enjoy was the ume shiso. It was unclear to us whether there was actually any plum in it. The yakisoba was quite tasty, but definitely overpriced. The sautéed mushrooms had a great taste and we enjoyed the mix of types of mushroom, though it was too salty (probably the broth). The tamago was great but also quite tiny for what you're paying. The lava cake for dessert was excellent; the miso and sesame flavors of the accompaniments paired really well with the chocolate. Overall we had an enjoyable experience and would come again for another special occasion. Bill came out to $180 for two people including tip. We only ordered food, no drinks other than water.

Crispy rice (with tuna)

We had a very good first experience at Azumi. We didn't realize they do valet so we paid to park in a nearby garage for $12. We were able to make a last minute reservation on a Friday night which was a nice surprise! My husband and I loved the nigiri platter and the hand roll tasting - which was fresh and yummy. The only roll we were disappointed in was the Surf N Turf roll ($42). It had a bit of a weird flavor and was really just shrimp tempura with a thin piece of steak on top - pretty underwhelming for the price. The service was very quick and the servers were waiting to immediately remove each plate as soon as it was emptied (sometimes too quick). A few small details that we loved: the pickled ginger was so sharp and had the perfect zing to it. The spicy mayo that comes on some of the rolls also had a really good kick to it. And we were pleased they offered a N/A beer which many sushi restaurants do not. This is definitely pricier than other sushi restaurants in the area (Matsuri in fed hill is our favorite) but we will likely be coming back for a fancy date night or to bring friends for a celebration.

Drunken whale sake
Jasmine K.

My friend and I shared all the food and tried cocktails and sake. We had the chicken gyoza, calamari, premium California roll, ribeye, beach episode cocktails, and drunken whale sake. Everything was so delicious. I am so upset that I didn't get a picture of the roll because that and the ribeye was honestly the best bites of the day. I usually don't like roe with my rolls but it wasn't so much that it interfered with the enjoyment of it. It was a perfect amount for someone who also doesn't like roe. It was also topped with snow crab. The bar staff was absolutely amazing. Most of the things we tried were based on their recommendations. Our servers were Brady, adam, Liz, and Spencer. They had a synergy that really elevated our experience. We were also able to sit by a window where we could see the water, which I always enjoy.

Is there a kids menu?

No kids menu, but there were plenty of families with kids being served. Restaurant is very loud, so I don’t even think a crying baby would bother anyone.

Any vegan options?

Yes! There are several vegan sushi and tempura options. Be aware that the dipping sauce for tempura is made with bonito (fish) shavings for flavor. They used to have a rather good roasted eggplant with miso. I don't see it on the menu but you can… Read more

I also had a 22 oz. can of Sapporo premium beer, which was also on happy hour for $7.50. Both the bagel roll and California roll were $6 on happy hour as well. I highly recommend the Volcano Roll (HH $12), which had 6 pieces of salmon and tuna top with a spicy mayo and eel sauce. We initially sat outside, but once it started raining, they helped us bring everything inside. The hostess was very kind and our server was excellent. I have been a Benihana…read morecustomer for many years but there is not an eat-in location within 30 minutes of where I live now so I was excited when I found I could order one of my favorite meals through RA Sushi. However, I was extremely disappointed with my order. First of all, I ordered 2 speciality entrees (Rocky's Choice and Benihana Delight). Both should have come with both soup and salad, however, only 1 soup was included in my delivery. Furthermore, the soup we were given was miso soup and not Benihana Onion soup. Neither myself or my husband enjoy miso soup so we did not eat the soup we were given. Both entrees came with chicken fried rice even though they were ordered with white rice. I understand the fried rice is an upgrade and may be considered 'better' but I very much prefer the white rice and was disappointed with this substitution. Furthermore, the fried rice was undercooked. The vegetables were extremely crunchy and the rice was dry. Finally, we had ordered several sauces and paid for these sauces. I had ordered 2 ginger sauces, 2 mustard sauces, and 1 yum yum sauce. When our ordered arrived we were only given 1 sauce (1 yum yum) and not the total of 5 that were ordered and paid for. Overall, my order was nothing like I expected it to be after eating at Benihana for over 20 years. The food was dry and missing several components that were ordered. This disappointment was compounded by the fact that since we ordered 2 speciality entrees the total was over $100 (not including delivery fees). For this price point, nothing should be missing and the food should be prepared as expected. The delivery option is the same price as dine-in which is absurd seeming as when you dine in person the food is fresher and you are also provided entertainment. If you are only serving take-out and delivery for Benihana and charging the same as dine-in the food must be top notch. I was okay paying the same as dine-in until my food was delivered and did not meet the bare minimum standards. I understand that Benihana-Baltimore food is prepared by RA Sushi and not a typical Benihana location.
