Happy Hour here is on the low. I just happened to pop in after work. Happy hour is from 4-6 pm. Glen was working his magic behind the bar. He was sling out the good drinks and service. I ordered from the happy hour menu which has a pretty good selections of drinks and food. I settled on the kabuto peach drink ( some fruit drink with vodka) and the Pearl River roll ,Baltimore roll and Gyoza. The food came out quick and fresh. This might become my new Friday happy hour spot. You can't go wrong with sushi and drinks. read more

A long hair was in my food! The manager questioned how it got in the food and even after I let him see the hair, which I pulled from my MOUTH and put in a napkin did not express concern or any form of customer service. The restaurant was loud and full of kids running around, not the place to go for a nice date either. Avoid at all costs unless you like long hair in your food. read more

This was in response to a birthday invitation, a buy 1 get 1 offer. When we stepped in the door, it was like we slid into a magazine, just so impressed with the beauty and atmosphere. Very professional. We were seated at 1 of the flat top Hibachi grills, only us. A small family came in later and was seated at the next 1 over. They ordered sushi, I hear it is outstanding here. We ordered, and then the process started, a bowl of mushroom soup. This was a clear broth with a fresh mushroom and a few shards of mushrooms, very tasty. Also included was a small lettuce salad with house dressing. Honestly, I have never had such a crisp, fresh lettuce salad. I'm totally impressed so far. Then the wait began, the chef or people were busy preparing the lunch, it seemed to tale forever, probably because we were anxious and hungry. It arrived on a cart just loaded with the actual ingredients and a variety of sauces used in the cooking. The presence of the bigger than life chef quickly calmed my impatience. Come to find out, our talented chef was from Indonesia. His name was MoMo. He went to work with all the flare you'd expect. He even made a volcano out of raw, soon to be cooked onion rings. Wow! Then, the rest was dramatic culinary artistry. Fried rice, veges, shrimp, chicken, and scallops all combined to make a delightful presentation. The taste was equal to the whole process. The thoughtful staff brought over take-home containers most of the way through the meal. Then the check came, and they honored my birthday coupon. The surprise there was the 18% tip added to the total bill as 2 meals, nearly $10. There is a sign declaring about the tip as you enter. This was a very good experience, but we probably will not return. The service and quality are in place and impressive. The upcharge for the tip was a bit much. I am one of the people who like to regulate the tip based on the food, service, and the cost of the meal, not an imposed figure. And I would have easily tipped at least 18%, I just don't like being told what to tip. read more

I had a great time during a friend's birthday celebration. We got there during happy hour before the guest of honor and had some HH apps, shots, and drinks. The bartender was so personable and quick. Once we got to the table, they were very accommodating to all the different dietary restrictions of our group. HH is definitely the move since you can also take part at the main tables. read more

Went with a group of 8 for dinner(you will not be seated unless the whole party is there). We went because the reviews battles with Kobe. It's cheaper and at the time closer to where we were. The sushi rolls were soo good I recommend the Birds nest and Baltimore roll they were nice to share with the group. I do prefer this places steak over the others it was still tender the next day. I don't like that they used spaghetti noodles. The portions are smaller compared to Kobe but I do love that they don't cramp everyone into one room. There's room to move around and view the restaurant and enjoy the time. I might come back just to try some more if I'm ever in the area read more

If you enjoy Kobe's you'll like kabuto. Same general thing. The differences we noted - combos had more options at kabuto. For example I usually have to get salmon by itself and add shrimp if doesn't come in a combo. But at kabuto you can make up combos - the food is flavored well, but the noodles at Kobe's are better - the drinks are so strong! But Delicious All in all, it's great. And comparable. Kabuto has not failed me YET!!! I went to treat myself for dinner and could not figure out where to go. I wanted something hot and delicious. Something sizzling. Something savory. Then Kabuto popped into my mind. The last time I came here was right before the Covid-19 pandemic hit hard (early March 2020). I sat at the bar and had the most delicious meal! Steak and shrimp hibachi combo. It came with soup, salad, fried rice and yummy noodles. The steak was seasoned to perfection and their shrimp are plump and sooo good! I got the exact same thing for dinner yesterday evening (August 8th, 2020). With our state continuously allowing and disallowing sit-in dining, I wasn't sure how everything would go. I made the drive to the restaurant. There weren't many cars in the parking lot, so I assumed that it wasn't a busy day & that I would have a quiet dinner at the bar. I was WRONG! Lol! The restaurant was carry-out only. They only allowed two customers in at a time. When I made my way inside, I was greeted by a huge blocked off wall at the entrance of the dining area. There were signs on the clear barriers that read "phone orders only". I walked back out to my car and made the call. The transaction was quick and friendly. I already knew exactly what I wanted- the steak (well done) and shrimp hibachi combo. Now, I had a not so awesome experience from another Japanese steak house on my birthday. The protein seriously was lacking and they did NOT include salad or soup! That meal was close to $40, whereas this meal was $25 and change. HUGE difference with WAY BETTER quality. When I got home, I set everything up and went to town. I didn't eat my soup, but everything else, I demolished. The steak and shrimp were delicious. The steak was medium well, which didn't bother me too much. I prefer the crisp of well done steak, but it was still really good. The shrimp were just as perfect as ever. The rice and noodles were well seasoned and the salad was fresh. Everything was so good, I honestly will probably come back again for dinner tonight. Food and sushi is good. No complaints there. Service is mediocre, they add an 18% tip automatically to the bill so no reason to provide good service. The worst service is from the bartender Glen. If he is there I wouldn't order a single drink, no telling what you will get, and don't ask for any customer service from him. Certainly dont ask him for water. The noise level was high, as to be expected, and their menu had a lot of photos of things they don't actually have on the menu any longer, but looked good. Service was ok. But the waiter kept walking by while we were trying to get his attention for a few minutes. Price was a bit higher than I'd have liked for the whole experience. Just ok. Looking for sushi lunch specials in the area and came across this place. Did a pick up order, but I really did like the atmosphere though. They had koi fish ponds and a nice size bar with a pretty good selection. The service was quick and effective. I did have to pay extra for side sauces. I had the Philly roll and the Baltimore roll. The Philly roll was just ok. But I really enjoyed the Baltimore roll. It was a California roll with old bay and spicy mayo with crisps on the top. The lunch special include miso soup and salad with peanut dressing with two pieces of select choices of sushi from their menu. I would definitely go back but just get different rolls read more

Of course the thing here is the showmanship of your cook. You may not get the same one we did but ours was great, engaging and good with our grandkids. The service was good, but she was hard to understand. But we didn't wait long, for anything during the meal. We've done the hibachi experience before and the staff at Kabuto do it well. Today, we opted for a faster dine-in option without the show -- (yes, you can choose dining/bar side or the show!). Service was stellar, food came quickly from the sushi chef and kitchen. The food is decent. I'd recommend you keep to the classics: traditional sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri. And, although the price seems a bit steep for protein and noodles, the hibachi dishes are solid as well. read more

The food is just ok. The service is 50/50. I sat at the bar first. It was quick and my sushi was hood. My issue was when a young lady sitting next to me received the wrong food. She touched it and realized it wasn't what she ordered. It happened to be a young lady a few seats down who did not know her and they tried to just give her the plate not make fresh food. Happened to be on the area on a shopping run and decided to stop in for dinner. We opted for sushi seating versus hibachi, so we were seated in a booth near the bar area. We had a good view of the the colorfully lit bar and television screens so we were able to watch Thursday night football. We could hear lots of laughter and revelry coming from the rear where the hibachi tables are located. We scanned the QR code on the table to pull up the menu. Ordered a Baltimore roll, along with teriyaki chicken and teriyaki steak entrees. Roll was small, but tasty although the old bay seemed to be missing. Our entrees came with mushroom soup and salad topped with a delicious soy ginger dressing. The entrees themselves were large portions of grilled meat on top of grilled onions covered in teriyaki sauce served with a side of fried or steamed rice. Nowhere did it say, have to bring a friend alone. Since I was going alone and completely fine with paying for the purchase, I was not allowed to use the birthday meal card because I did not bring a friend. Clearly, the manager discriminated against me because I didn't have any friends to bring with me on my birthday. He walked away. Really liked my food and the service. So much so I have been back twice since my first visit about a month ago. I had the nigiri platter and although I wished they sliced their fish thinner - it was tasty and presented beautifully. The next visit was sushi and then the next were maki rolls. Went there for dinner with my granddaughter while I was not looking to cook, decided to take a bottle with lemon juice and squirt her in the mouth covered the whole front of her dress. She was soaking wet and then didn't apologize. Didn't ask permission to do it to begin with it was horrible. They should never do that without a parent permission and they should make sure when they do do it. It doesn't cover the child's clues. Her dress was literally choked, and he did not even apologize. Nothing over the top fancy but a damn good roll Had the Kabuto "special" with filet, lobster, shrimp and scallops. Vegetables were cooked to perfection as was the filet and the scallops. The lobster tail was gritty. This was the only lowlight of the meal. Portion sizes were typical of most hibachi restaurants. Our chef was pleasant and efficient. The food - appetizer, drink and food - $250 for 3! The food was inedible. Wayyyyyy too much grease. The rice - says "fried ". Nope. Doused in oil, then some soy is added for color. The veggies- greasy greasy greasy. The shrimp - nope. Something was "off". The filet, however, was good. The soup = water. BEWARE the salad dressing contains peanuts! For $250, we got a few cubes of edible filet. Calamari- like little rubber tires. Potstickers almost stretchy. Coconut shrimp was messed up with that glop of mayo called sauce on top. I'm a huge Hibachi person and this place really met all my expectations. I love all the new tricks that each chef introduces! One huge perk is getting the amount of food you get for your buck! Fried rice, soup, noodles and salad ALL INCLUDED is a HUGE plus in my book!
