On a Friday evening we decided we wanted to catch some flying food in our mouths. We arrived around the 7/8 O'clock hour and there was one party leaving and another seated in the sushi bar area. I couldn't believe how large this restaurant was with several different areas. I imagined it would be a lively/loud environment but it was quite the opposite. Our chef was friendly and the staff kind/welcoming. The food was good albeit not the best I've ever had. I ordered the steak, scallops, and shrimp combo and tried a Japanese beer. There was way too many onions in the rice for my liking. I was hoping for a peanut based salad dressing but theirs was more of mayonnaise based. The miso was "heavy/fatty" and tasted like a rich flavored bone/chicken broth. I was hoping it would be light to taste/refreshing. Our tossed selection was zucchini (hoping for a protein) and a complimentary sake soak down. lol. I would likely return if we wanted another quiet private chef experience:) I wish this business much success.

About to get some hibachi

We had a great time at Ginza! We were celebrating October birthdays and we all laughed and enjoyed ourselves so much! The waitress was very attentive and the chef was super fun and made the food taste great! The inside of the restaurant is so beautiful! This place is perfect for a party or to celebrate any win- it would also be great for a first date or for a group of friends! I love coming here and am glad there is still a hibachi option close to me!

Nice decor. Very spacious. Service was quick and friendly. It was only our party and another when we first arrived. As we were leaving another party came. Unfortunately they had a kid who was being carried in screaming and was not happy to be there. Glad we were done. Food was okay. I asked for medium rare but food was cooked well done. To be fair, the meat was mixed with two other people that had varying preference for how cooked they like their meet. But really came here for the entertainment and food which did not disappoint

Tea Top (Owings Mills)

I've tried several sushi spots in Owings Mills, and Ginza is by far my favorite. The shrimp tempura and salmon sushi are incredibly delicious, and the service is excellent. The Tea Top boba served in the bar area is out of this world. With games and cards to play, it's the perfect place to hang out with friends or get some schoolwork done in a relaxed setting. Highly recommend!

Volcano roll, really good and DoorDash sometimes has buy 1 get 1 free deal

Gonzalo is always a dead on hit from hibachi and sushi definitely my favorite spot in Owings Mills

Ginza is a delightful discovery for anyone craving authentic Japanese cuisine at an unbeatable value. Nestled in an unassuming location, Ginza offers a nostalgic journey back to the traditional Japanese eateries of old. The décor, reminiscent of a classic Japanese setting, transports you to another time and place. Despite its dated appearance, don't be misled by the vintage style--the establishment is impeccably clean, maintaining a cozy and inviting ambiance. From the moment you step inside, the staff at Ginza welcomes you with open arms, exuding warmth and eagerness to serve. Their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction are evident, making every dining experience special. Our visit was primarily for the sushi, prompted by my quest for a genuine all-you-can-eat (AYCE) sushi buffet. Ginza splendidly meets this need with their AYCE sushi option, priced at an astonishing $17.95. Unlike typical buffets, Ginza serves sushi fresh to order from a menu. This method ensures each piece arrives at your table pristine and freshly made, enhancing the flavors and overall dining experience while reducing food waste--a thoughtful touch. The menu prices are generally very reasonable, with even their hibachi/teppanyaki offerings at just $25. It's hard to pinpoint any drawbacks at Ginza, unless one prefers ultra-modern interiors or formal service attire. The only minor hiccup was a slight inconsistency with the sushi preparations due to different chefs, which led to unexpected extras in our order--not that we were complaining in an AYCE setting! While the AYCE menu excludes certain items like nigiri and combo entrees, these are understandable omissions and can still be ordered à la carte if desired. We visited during a quieter time, which meant some ingredients were unavailable, but the staff's proactive approach in offering alternatives ensured our experience was not diminished. The quality of the food at Ginza is truly exceptional. The meal commenced with a delightful noodle broth and a fresh green salad dressed in a tantalizing yum-yum sauce, setting a high standard for what was to follow. The sushi, particularly the salmon nigiri, was a standout, melting tenderly in the mouth. The dragon roll was equally impressive, featuring a harmonious blend of salmon, tuna, and avocado. Additionally, the tempura shrimp in the Maryland roll was freshly prepared, providing a perfect crunch that complemented the succulent fish. The attentive service at Ginza is worth noting. Staff members were consistently friendly and responsive, ensuring we were well cared for without being intrusive--a fine balance that they mastered gracefully. Exciting Side Note: Ginza also offers a unique catering experience called "Backyard Hibachi," which I am eagerly looking forward to trying at my next birthday celebration. This service promises to bring the excitement and flavors of teppanyaki right to your home, making for an unforgettable event. Final Thoughts: Ginza is more than just a restaurant; it's a portal to traditional Japanese hospitality and culinary excellence. It has proudly stood for over 20 years, offering a tranquil escape from the bustling modern eateries. Here, priority is given to quality ingredients and guest experience over contemporary aesthetics. For those in search of superb sushi, friendly service, and a serene atmosphere, Ginza is a must-visit. It might not cater to seekers of cutting-edge design, but if your focus is on enjoying exceptional food in a comfortable setting, Ginza promises a memorable experience. 5/11 Tonight we swung by to try their Teppanyaki experience, and it didn't disappoint. We went for the Filet Mignon Teppanyaki, a steal at $20, and it was a good-sized portion. The meat was cooked perfectly--juicy and tender, although not quite at the level of the priciest filet I've ever had. The veggies were cooked just right. Unlike some other Japanese places that overload you with rice and veggies, Ginza got the balance. I also discovered their Tatami room, which got me excited to bring a group. Dietary restrictions: They were very attentive to my spouse's onion allergy and knew every ingredient. Most places if we asked if something had onion, it becomes a 30 minute ordeal of waiter, to manager, to chef, who then all come to the table to help figure food out (which is nice). It was refreshing though to ask if something had onion in it, and with only a thought the person was able to answer us. Kid-friendliness: While we were eating, there was a birthday party going on next door. After a moment one of the workers and a couple kids came around the corner and he blew up a couple of inflatable balloons for them. Although from where we sat they looked more like inflatable kid sized neck pillows. Either way, very kid friendly.

This restaurant is located in a plaza on Reisterstown rd. There is plenty of parking and you're surrounded by other stores in case you need to run errands. We ordered hibachi. The cooking of the food is always fun to watch but i think our guy just needed the day off. The soup was akin to the taste of warm bath water with epson salt. Their yum yum sauce is white and taste like melted mayonnaise. If you've had great yum yum, it's almost orange in color. The ginger sauce tasted like soy sauce. Not a hint of ginger. The food was tasteless. I could have had a V8. The fried rice was crunchy. The veggies, rice and shrimp had no seasoning. My glass of water was excellent; I'm not being funny. I've had bad tap water but their water must be filtered. As a water lover. I appreciated that. The staff (from the host to the server) lacked warmth. It is my intent to never return.

I've been a loyal customer of this restaurant for over 22 years. It is my top favorite place for…read moresushi. I was saddened to learn they changed owners some years ago, and I was afraid the quality would be affected in a negative way. It was a great relief to learn the quality actually got better, which I didn't think was possible. The fish is consistently incredibly fresh, the textures are clean and delicate, and every roll is balanced in a way that really highlights the natural flavor of the ingredients. I also greatly appreciated that they didn't change the menu much, because I would have been sad about my favorites getting removed. True, the Japanese feeling and atmosphere the geishas brought under the previous administration was more welcoming. However, I would rather have better quality food over atmosphere. That said, the restaurant still has a cozy, warm, and welcoming atmosphere that makes it very comfortable to dine in. I love that it is not a huge location. I prefer smaller restaurants to avoid crowds and eat without disturbing my peace. More personal attention too, as you get to know the owner and chefs and they remember you when you're back. The service and attention is better that way. This place is like that. They are also very accommodating with customizations, whether you want to add or remove ingredients, and they are always willing to adjust orders to your preference. Service is still excellent. It's perfect as it is. The flavors are consistently excellent, with a level of care and precision that you can taste in every bite. I would really like it if they added at least one deluxe roll that has lime or lemon as an ingredient. I've only found one sushi restaurant in MD that uses it as an ingredient. In other states I've visited, they use it and it is totally worth it, as it is a great contrast that elevates the raw fish flavors. It's a bit disappointing sushi in MD is different that way. But this place is amazing. I fully recommend it to sushi lovers.

Since I moved back…read moreto this area a little over a year ago I've been looking for a really good sushi place to go to and this seems to be the one. Ordered a really delicious fruity iced tea to start with. Then opted to get the avocado boat as well as the Bruce Roll, which was tempura shrimp and lump crab meat topped with avocado and eel sauce and was absolutely delicious. The avocado boat, not so much, is it really wasn't what I was expecting it wasn't my cup of tea. The spicy tuna mixed with crab meat was delicious but I expected it to be mixed with the avocado and mixed with the avocado rice. Instead it was inside of an avocado shell and the rice was underneath with some avocado in it. It was definitely filling it just wasn't as I expected it would be and as I expected as it was described in the description on the menu. They say you live and you learn and I did with that. But my sushi was excellent and everything else that everyone else got looked delicious from the stir fry udon noodles to the pad thai to the other sushi rolls that others had gotten. We were all too full for dessert though the desserts looked amazing. Lots of things to try the next time I'm there and it will likely be soon. The food was reasonable for what we got and for the portion size. Highly recommend. Our service was very good our server was right on top of everything we needed kept our water glasses filled and was there any time we had questions. The restaurant was also very nice inside I had a nice decor even though it was mostly full over there it wasn't loud and you could certainly talk to everyone at the table and be heard without having to scream. There was a small outdoor area but we opted to eat inside.

We exchanged several messages, and they were incredibly helpful--especially since I don't like sushi or seafood, though my wife does. They even suggested alternative dishes for me. My wife and I eventually decided to give the restaurant a try. As I drove by, I saw Times Square and Suya Spot, but I couldn't find Chimii anywhere. My wife kept asking where it was, and honestly, I wasn't sure. I ended up parking in a garage so we could walk around and look for it. We finally spotted it--half the restaurant was hidden under a large tree, and its sign is tiny compared to the neighboring businesses. At the entrance, there was a refrigerator filled with grab‑and‑go meals, which was a bit unexpected. Once inside, we were seated right away. We ordered several dishes, and every single one was delicious. My wife absolutely loved her sushi--it was beautifully made and full of flavor. The waitress provided excellent service throughout our meal. Overall, we enjoyed our experience very much and were glad we decided to try Chimii.

The service and ambience were also amazing, which made the whole experience even better. Because the first visit was so good, I came back a few days later to try more items. This time I ordered the shrimp tempura roll, spicy tuna roll, and bulgogi kimbap. Unfortunately, this is where things went left. The bulgogi kimbap had a really weird taste (and not in a good way), and the spicy tuna tasted so fishy that I almost vomited. I ended up throwing most of the food away, which was disappointing and felt like a waste of money. The only thing we kept was the shrimp tempura roll,  it was just okay. My little one liked it, but it's not something I would personally order again. I do understand this is a newer business and there may still be some kinks to work out. Because my first experience was so good, I would consider visiting again... just not anytime soon.

I had the pick 2 lunch special, but decided to splurge on the Wayne's roll. It does have green onions, and they seared the fresh tuna on the top, which both actions were not listed in the description. I picked off the onions and was eating the sushi anyways. It takes a lot for me to return an item, because I don't believe in waste. I also used to be a waiter, so I know that it's hard when your tip is affected by the food. What did upset me was that all of the rolls were done with too little, and too wet, of rice. Every single roll opened up. The small Philly rolls I could hold together. The Wayne's roll completely fell apart, losing masago everywhere and making a mess of the soy sauce and the table. When the original cashier did come to check on me, I only had 2 pieces left of the Wayne's. If she had come over sooner, I may have returned it. She did apologize and ask if I wanted them to be redone. I said no, thank you (because you never know once they're upset), and instead asked for 2 dollars off of the total for the 14.95$ roll being less valuable than the 12.95$ lunch special. The other waiter dropped off the check without a word and walked away to wait for my card, without a discount . She ended up being the manager. She never apologized for the less than ideal experience, didn't mention that she knew about it until I asked her, and only said, "You chose to eat it anyways." She refused a 2 dollar discount. 2 dollars... for good customer service. I tipped the other cashier. I hope that she gets the 20% and the manager gets none of it. I'll never go back.
