Baltimore Roll B Angry Dragon Roll Snow Mountain Roll

I visited Yama Sushi on a Saturday night and was surprised to be the only diner. Despite the quiet atmosphere, the food was good. I had the Baltimore Roll B, the Angry Dragon Roll, and the Mountain Roll. All the rolls were great. The service was pretty average but this seems like a family-owned restaurant so I wasn't expecting too much. Over all this was a solid experience. You can tell that they put a lot of effort into their food and I think it deserves some more business.

Placed an order for takeout. They said it would take 20-30 minutes, and when I arrived 30 min later my order was ready and waiting for me. It appears that the inside dining is not open, so they're just doing takeout orders right now. My order was gyoza, seaweed salad, double crab roll and volcano roll. Everything tasted fresh and delicious! Highly recommend the volcano roll which is a tempura roll of tuna, salmon, avocado and spicy crab meat with flaming special spicy sauce. It's delicious! An explosion of flavors and textures in your mouth.

Baltimore Roll B, Angry Dragon Roll, and the Volcano Roll

I visited Yama Sushi this past Saturday night and was very surprised. Being the only table sat within the restaurant was a little jarring at first, but I was quickly impressed with the speedy service and great quality of food. I ordered the Baltimore Roll (B), the Angry Dragon Roll and the Volcano Roll. All the rolls were great, especially the Baltimore Roll! We also ordered the Pork Gyoza which was pretty okay. The service itself was pretty average as it seems the owner's children work tables and to-go, but this seems like a family-owned restaurant so I wasn't expecting too much. Overall this was a solid experience and you can tell that they put a lot of love into their food. Despite its shortcomings I think this place deserves a lot more business and would fully recommend others give this place a try.

Amazing sushi and hibachi!! Everything was so fresh and delicious. The place was very nice and clean. We will be returning again.

    Hot and spicy chicken udon....

I ordered "Hot and spicy" chicken udon for delivery and this plain, tasteless dish is what I received. I had to recook this and create an actual hot and spicy stir fry sauce to make this edible. Crazy.

Ok. Sushi is good. Service is subpar. This is a family run joint. They have their children helping out. So sometimes you just need to help them out as I know you are paying but not much expectation. I've been coming here when they open by Italian sensations and needed bigger facility. Plus side it's BYOB and the liquor store down the street can deliver. Why do I come back? It's good sushi and can't really ask for much more Solid 3 stars. ProTip: order the soft shell crab appetizer

Great service, nice ambiance, clean interior. The shrimp tempura roll, sashimi appetizer, and edamame were great. Blackened tuna roll was very bland and disappointing. But great experience overall. My 5 year old loved it too!

    Sushi galore, general tso combo

Amazing lunch date- food was phenomenal. Staff is friendly and quick. Good prices, speciality roll was out standing. We also got a combo platter of general tso's to share with fried rice. Plenty for two people to share with sushi. Fried rice was brown... I'm not a fan of yellow fried rice and very very flavorful

Tables that never get cleaned up

I am all about family run restaurants which this is but not at the cost of me paying them to bus my own table. Their kids are essentially the waitresses but god sake teach them how to be one. We had to get up and ask for everything ourselves. They never check back. As for the food, the sushi that my wife ordered was GOOD, the hibachi dinner that I ordered left much to the imagination. Meat was over cooked, fried rice had a weird 'old oil' smell/taste to it. Portions were small compared to other places. They do not serve both noodles and rice. You have to order noodles as add on/side order. Our kids love the noodles so we ordered but they refused to eat because noodles had that same 'old oil' smell/taste to it. Their yum yum sauce must be house made because it was terrible. Any modification is charged as extra. We sat next to a table that was never cleaned from the time we got there. I may order sushi again but as take out!

Really nice, lowkey spot for good sushi. Can't complain at all. I had some gyoza and the hawaiian roll.

This place really surprised me on how good it actually was!…read moreA nice find in this area. We were visiting, after a day of visiting the National Mall. This restaurant is pretty large - there are several dining rooms and spaces available. They sat us pretty fast considering we had a reasonably sized party. You could definitely bring a party here - they have many rooms available. Next, service was quick and prompt. You have to order steak and ramen through your server. I recommend both! Both were of good quality and my aunts in particular loved the seafood ramen. Of course, the main draw of a buffet is the food! The food here is pretty good! They have a good amount of variety and keep the quality good as well. They offer a lot of sushi options, and some hot food options as well. Their crab was excellent too - I haven't seen any good buffets recently with crab offerings. They also offer milk tea in the fridge and ice cream for desserts. The milk tea is pretty good - the thai tea was my personal favorite. Overall, a nice place to grab some sushi at an affordable price.

I was a big fan of the sushi and my friends thought the mac n cheese and ramen were surprisingly good. The NY strip was not my favorite, but the dessert options (including milk tea!!) made up for any meh dishes. Waiters were quick to refill drinks and clear plates, which made this a super efficient meal!

I was super excited to try this restaurant after hearing good things and there just aren't many Korean food places around me. I was told this would be authentic Korean food and I couldn't wait, as I'm Korean and miss my grandma's traditional food! We arrived around 4:45pm and the hours listed say 6pm. We went to go sit down so we could look through the menu before ordering and were told it's take out only. This was a major bummer and some of the things we wanted to order would have been difficult to eat in the car. It was also 80 degrees out and I live about 35-40 minutes from here. We still ordered cause we wanted to try it and were hungry. The food came out fast and we were also given 2 small containers of cucumber kimchi! I ordered the tofu bibimbap and I'm sorry to say it had zero flavor. If you are looking to just make it spicy, they do give you a container of spicy sauce to put on it. My friend ordered the bulgogi with rice and Ttokbokki. The Ttokbokki were delicious and were the perfect level of spicy! The bulgogi was also very good, but next time we might try the spicy bulgogi! Overall, I would give it a try.

I got the Hawaiian Poke Sushi bowl and the Baked Scallop California roll to share. I'm used to being disappointed by the portions of poke bowls at sit-down restaurants, but this bowl did not disappoint. The bowl had a generous portion of tuna and everything was so fresh. For the scallop roll, there was a large baked scallop on each piece of sushi. I thought having something warm on sushi might be odd, but it was delicious! The ambiance is cute and cozy, but a bit stuffy, the person behind me kept hitting my chair lol. The food was mid. I would say I'm a pretty avid sushi eater, this place tries their best, but misses the mark. I enjoyed their appetizers, but actual sushi was bad. The rice is a bit undercooked and has an extra soft texture. It feels a bit too mushy, which feels unnatural. My friend ordered the avocado roll and that was not tasty at all. We asked if we can get it wrote off the bill or returned, but they said "no refund or exchanges!" lol. So we had to take this massive L for the mediocre sushi. That is all; see attached a photo.

Not only is their fish always fresh, but their portions are generous, and they allow you to modify the sides. I dislike ginger on my fish, and this is literally the only place I don't have to worry that a wonderful piece of salmon will be marred by the taste of ginger. The hours here are fantastic, as we often order after work which can be 9 or 10, and their Chinese options are super solid as well. I just realized I haven't sent in this review before and it's been sitting in queue unfinished for over a year. I was coming here to update, but I still love this place so much. I had a carryout order and they forgot one of the many boxes of white rice. I have not even unpacked the bag at my house to serve when I got a call from them. They offered to send out a delivery driver. I told him that was ridiculous that I would come and get it because it's only a box of rice and that seems like a waste of a delivery driver. In the meantime, my kid had tried the chicken teriyaki and had housed the whole serving of it and finding anything that my picky eater will devour is a blessing so I went and ordered another order of it since I was going to be going back anyway. When I arrived, they had my order they asked. Did you order another order and I said yes the kid loved the chicken teriyaki so much. I had to get more.. She said oh good. I have something else for you and handed me a whole additional dish that I did not order this time, but having in the past. They are so thoughtful, the customer service is top-tier, and the quality of food and serving size is top-notch. We love this place. We will not stop going here. I was skeptical of the low prices but when the sushi came out, I was so thrilled to see perfectly cooked rice, not too much rice, and lots of fish with large rolls. The fish was super fresh, and they make California rolls with kani/crab salad the way I like it. My favorite rolls are california roll, salmon avocado, and the spicy girl roll. My favorite special rolls are: Tokyo roll, Goldfish Roll, No 99 roll, Pink Lady, Rainbow roll...too many to name! It's worth mentioning that they have all-you-can eat option every day from 12-5pm. It's on a smaller menu that you order a la carte from, but it includes regular rolls, special rolls, appetizers, soups, desserts, and some Chinese entrees. It's $26 per person and such a fantastic value. We also enjoyed their Chinese food and have tried General Tso's chicken and crab rangoon (called crispy crab and shrimp wontons on the menu). Only thing we haven't liked here was the bibimbap (missing a bunch of vegetables and heavy on the rice). I am a little skeptical to try the Thai and Korean food options after the bibimbap. The gyoza and pork dumplings were good though. It is a casual unassuming sushi spot with plenty of seating inside. The service here is nice as well but you order food at the counter - the owner Cheng is SOO nice!! Miso soup has unlimited refills when you dine in. They also provide free spicy mayo with each sushi order. I cannot wait to try out the rest of their menu and will definitely be back often!
