Just got back from lunch at the Mission BBQ. It's a real nice casual place and I've always appreciated a business that has its head on straight and HONORS those who have served our great country. God Bless our Veterans and First Responders! Now about the food... I have to be honest, I was a little let down by the Brisket today. It was unfortunately quite dry and didn't have much flavor on its own. A real shame! However, the baked beans were the star of the show. Really great smoky flavor there. They do have a whole lot of different sauces to choose from. I tried a few but my favorites were the Smoky Mountain and that Bay-B-Que, which has some Old Bay in it. You can't go wrong with a little Maryland flavor! Overall a good spot to grab a bite and support a patriotic establishment, just hope the brisket is a bit juicier next time. STAY SAFE!! read more

Lots of parking here. Always have good taste but bad after effects. No different here. Must be something in the rub. I always get the moist brisket platter with Mac n cheese and green beans. TERRIBLE TOMATO SLICE - My husband picked up carry-out order a few days ago and this was the one slice of tomato for the turkey sandwich. Terrible! Why can't people who make sandwiches use a decent piece of tomato?? Not only does it have an inedible core in the center and a hole in it but it was so small it would barely have been more than one bite had I cut out the core. I threw it away. The turkey is tasty but lettuce, tomato and mayo is what completes it for me. And, there seems to be an additional cost if you want to add tomatoes so, to this point. please make it a size and quality slice befitting the cost and the sandwich; otherwise you are cheating/gipping the customer. To those who train the food preparers - would you use a slice of tomato like this for your sandwich that you made at home? I doubt it. read more

The waitress my family got was so kind and always checked in to ensure everything was okay! Her energy reminds me of my youngest sister. Food was awesome as well. The jalapeño-cheddar sausage was savory and had the right amount of spice, the turkey was surprisingly juicy and smoky, and the peach cobbler was a little crunchy, very gooey, and balanced fruity with caramel-like flavors. Sweet tea was delicious yet not overpowering. The only complaint I had was that the cornbread was dry and lacking flavor. Other than that, keep it up y'all! :) read more

This was the first time I went to mission BBQ in YEARS. My younger brother never has been. It was a little pricey but the food was amazing and such a great assortment of bbq sauces to put on. The fries were well seasoned. Carmen, the manager, made it a point to come deliver our food to us and introduce herself as it was our first time. She was so kind and friendly. When we were done, she even brought us free desert which was so fresh. I haven't seen my brother in many many years so we took awhile when we were done to talk and still hang out. The Perry Hall Mission BBQ location never disappoints! I'm always greeted by friendly service staff, always willing to explain the menu and what's available. Some items are seasonal, such as some desserts, but most things are year round! I was really hungry one day and thought I'd stop by to get something filling. I get the same thing pretty much every time. The dry brisket, the cheddar sausage, Mac and cheese, and green beans with a side of cornbread. The brisket is so tender and tasty. I usually dip it in one of their delicious bbq sauces. The sausage is very flavorful! The cheddar and bits of jalapeños takes the links to another level! The mac & cheese is so tasty, rich and decadent. The breadcrumbs on top are a delicious touch. The green beans are the bomb! They are flavored with bacon, I believe, so be mindful and check with staff if you don't eat pork. The cornbread is a must. I always get the combo with two sides and a drink the ultimate meal. The iced tea and lemonade is delicious! Not extremely sweet at all. Just right. I've never sat inside, but if you choose to, it's a nice atmosphere for a casual family dinner. Not what I remember...I visited this location and ordered moist brisket, Mac and cheese, green bean and Cole slaw. Nothing was what I remember from when I live in Laurel and ordered from that location. The moist brisket was extremely over cooked, dry and had an off putting flavor. The Mac and cheese, green beans and Cole slaw were so unsatisfying. Even the sauces tasted different than what I remembered. I spend almost $30 for a meal that was not satisfying at all...I tried to give it to my husband who usually eats anything and he didn't like it. Ok, I like this place, but my guy does not. I like the choices of meats and the variety of BBQ sauces. It's exactly what you'd expect it to be. Sides are good too. Not sure what he doesn't like about it. Maybe because it's self-serve. Maybe it's the square aluminum serving plates. The service and hospitality was amazing! We came in as first timers and let the cashier know and she explained everything. The food came out shortly and it was all so yummy! The cook even explained to us how to use the sauces that came with it. Towards the end of our meal they offered us some merch as well as free dessert. Will be back! We stopped here for a quick dinner on our way back to DC from Philly. I know Mission BBQ is a chain, but this was our first time visiting one. Like many a BBQ places, order at the counter, wait until your order is called, then find a seat and dig in. After ordering, our food was ready in about 5 minutes. Service at the ordering counter was friendly, but we felt rushed to decide what we wanted. In the end, we split a 3 meat platter with 2 sides and 2 fountain drinks-all for $18! The meats: lean brisket (there is an option for moist), pulled chicken, and pulled pork. The sides: mac and cheese and french fries. Drinks: pepsi products, lemonade, sweet and unsweet tea-plus a variety of bottled drinks/sodas and beer. The brisket still was fattier than I would have liked, but it had a nice char on the outside and had that pinkish color inside, usually indicating tender meat, which it was just that. The pulled chicken was well-flavored and tender as was the pulled pork. I loved the number of sauce options with my favorites being Tupelo honey heat(a bit sweet and spicy with a litle tang-thinner like NC vinegar), Georgia mustard (self-explanatory), and Smoky mountain (nice smoke flavor, a little tangy, a hint of spice). The mac and cheese was super cheesy and the melted cheese on top was extra delicious. It was well-seasoned and creamy. The fries, while not frozen, were not good. They needed lots of seasoning (the old bay helped) and they were bordering between cold and luke-warm. The meal also came with a piece of cornbread, which my husband enjoyed saying it was not dry at all. Was mission BBQ the best BBQ? No. Did it hit the spot, provide a quick meal, and go (very) easy on the wallet? Yes. The mac and cheese was actually one of the better versions I have had in awhile, and while all of the meats were pretty good, nothing really stood out as WOW. I'd still definitely return to another Mission BBQ location in the future if I were looking for a simple and quick meal without sacrificing too much flavor. read more

This Mission BBQ recently did a large catering event that I was able to take a part in. I ordered a family meal pack for 4 with brisket and pulled pork, and green beans and mac and cheese as my sides. The was disappointing and lacked flavor. My brisket was dry and hard as a brick. Tried to finish it all, but ultimately became inedible. The green beans were okay-- the bits of bacon made it tastier. The mac and cheese had a lot of promise, but two of the containers was half cheese and no noodles. The 'star', I say this lightly, of the whole meal was the pulled pork. Overall, it was moist and had a nice smoked flavor, but there wasn't any seasoning on it. Mission BBQ came back again a few weeks later, but I didn't even want to order it again-- and I LOVE BBQ!!! I've heard people rave about their food, but I'm just not impressed. Maybe I'll give them another shot one day on a non-catering occasion. read more

Really great Texas-style barbecue. Not the greatest I've ever had, but still really good for taste, texture, quality and quantity. I ordered the Tennessee Tower, which arrived as a sandwich. Barbecued sliced turkey, fries, pickles and then cole slaw on top. It's obvious that you're supposed to pick it up and eat it, but you'll want to grab a fork as it does collapse. Watch your shirt! Sweet tea is VERY sweet, but cut with some "northern tea" and a squirt of lemonade (can you say "Arnold Palmer?"), it was perfect. We were there at lunch, so I was surprised at the noon mark when they asked everyone to stand for the national anthem. Very cool. I don't typically focus on chains but I recently had my first take out from Mission BBQ with my son. He was in the know and so he made sure we had a wide sample of their sauces to try on your food. My favorite was called smoky mountain I think? The BBQ we selected was traditional and it was fabulous. A good BBQ also has flavorful not soggy fries. Check. A great BBQ has a zesty cole slaw. Check.
