    TERRIBLE TOMATO SLICE!

TERRIBLE TOMATO SLICE - My husband picked up carry-out order a few days ago and this was the one slice of tomato for the turkey sandwich. Terrible! Why can't people who make sandwiches use a decent piece of tomato?? Not only does it have an inedible core in the center and a hole in it but it was so small it would barely have been more than one bite had I cut out the core. I threw it away. The turkey is tasty but lettuce, tomato and mayo is what completes it for me. And, there seems to be an additional cost if you want to add tomatoes so, to this point. please make it a size and quality slice befitting the cost and the sandwich; otherwise you are cheating/gipping the customer. To those who train the food preparers - would you use a slice of tomato like this for your sandwich that you made at home? I doubt it.

gross over seasoned tough ribeye steak, then , unseasoned gristle filled.. under seasoned tough steak. not coming back ever. Lost this customer due to gross food.

This was the first time I went to mission BBQ in YEARS. My younger brother never has been. It was a little pricey but the food was amazing and such a great assortment of bbq sauces to put on. The fries were well seasoned. Carmen, the manager, made it a point to come deliver our food to us and introduce herself as it was our first time. She was so kind and friendly. When we were done, she even brought us free desert which was so fresh. I haven't seen my brother in many many years so we took awhile when we were done to talk and still hang out. We didn't feel rushed. This was truly one of a kind experience. Thank you so much Carmen.

The Perry Hall Mission BBQ location never disappoints! I'm always greeted by friendly service staff, always willing to explain the menu and what's available. Some items are seasonal, such as some desserts, but most things are year round! I was really hungry one day and thought I'd stop by to get something filling. I get the same thing pretty much every time. The dry brisket, the cheddar sausage, Mac and cheese, and green beans with a side of cornbread. The brisket is so tender and tasty. I usually dip it in one of their delicious bbq sauces. The sausage is very flavorful! The cheddar and bits of jalapeños takes the links to another level! The mac & cheese is so tasty, rich and decadent. The breadcrumbs on top are a delicious touch. The green beans are the bomb! They are flavored with bacon, I believe, so be mindful and check with staff if you don't eat pork. The cornbread is a must. I always get the combo with two sides and a drink the ultimate meal. The iced tea and lemonade is delicious! Not extremely sweet at all. Just right. I've never sat inside, but if you choose to, it's a nice atmosphere for a casual family dinner. It's an open concept, buzzy but not loud. It gives the ambiance of a cafeteria, but nicer, if that makes sense. Anyhoo, if you're looking for some delicious comfort food, Mission is the place to go. And to top it off, if you sign up for the emails, they have giveaways, freebies, and special gifts to vets!

Pulled pork sandwich combo. Meal comes with 2 sides and drink (potato salad shown on my plate was shared by my husband).

Employees are always on the lookout for customers' needs. Dined outdoors and been asked if we needed help by different people! They offer help even before you ask (eg to-go boxes). They help put our your food and carry your tray even if you're able. It's a good place to be to see the American way of hospitality. Free reusable cup for a donation. Six different sauce options! Good place to eat pulled meat (pork, chicken)! Picnic benches (outdoor dining) becomes shaded area in the afternoon. Would be a good casual place to catch up with friends. The prices have gone up a little though, well what can we expect from inflation, almost everything's up! At least the food is consistently well-prepared.

I travel a lot and always try and stop in to the local bbq places. Seems like you usually either get a rib place that has dry leather brisket or you get a bbq place that really understands brisket that melts in your mouth. This place gets bbq and gets Brisket. Among the best I've had. Mac n cheese and fries also solid. Great the job guys, love it.

    It was the special meatloaf
    Serge A.

The meatloaf for a limited time. It was spectacular! I over ate it was so good. I opted for two more sides. I got the loaded potatoes and the Mac n cheese. All very epic..... my cornbread was cold though. I thought that was different. Overall it was a nice taste of BBQ.

The service and hospitality was amazing! We came in as first timers and let the cashier know and she explained everything. The food came out shortly and it was all so yummy! The cook even explained to us how to use the sauces that came with it. Towards the end of our meal they offered us some merch as well as free dessert. Will be back! The service is amazing, the staff is so friendly and the food is great! 10/10

Everyone agreed their chicken is outstanding - people were actually talking about it. Native Baltimoreans were saying it was the best chicken they had had in B-more. We also got the mac and cheese, cornbread, and the giant fruit platter-all of which were great. The fruit platter was fresh, and the fruit was ripe. The gentleman who coordinated my order (Vernon?) was patient and made the order easy. He helped me figure out how much to order and how to get and use the Sternos. On the day of the party, the food was delivered right on time and tightly wrapped to prevent spills and keep the hot food hot. The young man who delivered the food was equally as helpful and friendly as Vernon. Highly recommend this Baltimore gem.

The flavor is there but the seafood is not. The string beans and sweet potatoes taste straight from a can. No condiments provided for the fried fish and chicken and the servers could not tell the difference between a breast or thigh. The baked and fried chicken was dry and extremely large except for the wings. I was really hoping to have a better experience as this was through catering but my review remains the same. It's definitely giving the southern blues alright.

To start, I was disappointed to find no pit, no open flames -- not even a grill in sight. The kitchen area looked clean, but that's not what I came for. I ordered a medium pit beef and a ham sandwich, both on Kaiser rolls. To my surprise, the food was heated up on a griddle. If I hadn't already paid, I would have left right then and there. The woman who took my order was polite, but frankly, service and friendliness aren't why I visited. I came expecting authentic pit meats, and this place falls short. It's not a smokehouse, nor does it resemble a proper pit beef stand. If you're looking for genuine pit beef, save your money and go elsewhere. I will add this.... Well folks, I have enjoyed this place since we held our wedding reception there, 22 years ago! (It…read morewas still known as Sander's Corner back then.) We moved to AZ 7 years ago and quickly learned that there is no such thing as a good crabcake outside of Maryland. A few years after our wedding, the restaurant changed hands and became McFaul's Ironhorse Tavern. Initially, we were a bit concerned but that concern proved to be unfounded! With every trip back to MD, we always tried to stop into McFauls for - yup, a Maryland Crabcake (broiled), an ear or two of MD sweet corn and a cold Natty Boh! (My Dad used to work for National Brewing Co., so the beer choice was nostalgic, but honest! There is NO Natty Boh west of the Mississippi!) Anyway, nostalgia played a role in our choice of dining at McFaul's - but only ever so slightly! Until last night! We arrived at 5:30pm and had our choice of seating. It was a bit too warm to dine outside, so we chose a table for four near the fireplace. Two other tables were being served and the entire restaurant had not hit it's peak customer load! I settled in for my latest crabcake dinner. I chose the single crab cake with two sides. (Dinner: $35.00) but I am getting ahead of myself. Service was slow, waters only came right out and then the wait began. 10 minutes later, our server arrived to take our drink order. Of course, I ordered a can of Natty Boh. I also asked for a glass for my beer. 8 minutes later, the beer arrived (no glass.) Other drinks wandered in, but still no glass for the beer. I drank my water (which was also served in a beer-type glass) and waited. Our server returned to take our dinner order (still no glass!) Orders now placed and my can of Boh still needing a glass, I finished my water and poured (properly, of course) my Natty Boh into my empty, but still cold water glass. I enjoyed the first sip! Ahhhhh! Table talk proceeded and I started to dream of my cake! (BTW - no choice of broiled or fried!) Our server returned with a menu adjustment for one of our guests - kitchen was out of something. Oh yeah, my frosted glass finally arrived. (Too late!) Here's the sad part... our dinners were just so so. My small crabcake was surronded by about 25 fries and a mini Caeser's Salad. I had asked for two cups of cocktail sauce - I received one cocktail sauce and one tarter sauce. I have seen bigger crabcakes in the frozen food section of Giant Food. I was even served a cake twice as large at Camden Yards - of all places - for $28.00! One of our guests that ordered Fish & Chips received a full plate Caeser's Salad and about 50-60 fries (for way less money!) Here's my rap... I was not even mildly impressed by our food, service or ambiance! My, how the mighty have fallen. I will now remove McFaul's (with great sadness) from my "Must Visit When in MD" list! Reasons are as above, but for those that don't like to read all the dastardly details - Mediocre Food, Slow Unattentive Service, and A Tavern Ambiance that sorely needs a refresh! Sorry Folks, but Baltimore has WAY better to offer! SMH!
