I love this place! This is my new go-to sushi in Rockwall. It's a shame there's not a place like this near north Fort Worth where I live. The sushi taste fresh, it's plentiful, all around $6-9 dollars per roll. Amazing deal!!! If that wasn't enough, the more rolls you get, the better discount you receive. They do not skimp on the rolls either! I was definitely full after 2 special rolls. Normally any other sushi restaurant, 2 rolls will satisfy my stomach, but not fill me up. I got the fire dragon (eel) roll. My FAV!!!!! The geisha was good too. But since I have braces, the tempura shrimp was a bit hard for me to chew. My friend got 2 crunch rolls which looks delicious but I could not have any due to the crunchy parts which would not fly with my braces. So this place is small. Definitely to-go or if you stay here, very small groups due to the small amount of tables and space. There are about 8 small tables fitted for 2-4 ppl each. I love this place! My daughters (age 16 & 17) and I were really craving sushi after having a big Easter lunch. It was late and the store is 40 minutes away from our house. We ordered and my daughter rushed up just to find out that the store decided to close early with a note on the door yet the sign still said open . So my daughter was left crying in their parking lot and no one from the store had any consideration to call us or not accept our online order. It also takes a lot longer to refund money than it does when it goes out. So imagine my teenage daughter crying in the parking lot, trying to figure out how to get almost $70 back so we can eat. This is the most pleasant dining experience I think I've ever had. We walked in to the place playing soft instrumental music and greeted with a smile from the cashier lady. She was extremely patient while we looked over the menu for a bit before deciding what to eat. We ordered at sat down. The table was dirty but so was the other one. Just a straw wrapper and napkin bunched up. No big deal! The guy behind the counter making the food said "we'll clean that off for you!" Before sitting down she cleaned it and in no time out order was out! The ingredients tasted insanely fresh. I HIGHLY suggest the wonton soup. Delicious on a cold and raining night. So much flavor from the broth. I got an avocado roll with spicy mayonnaise and crunchy pieces. Really good! All of it was fresh and warm when delivered to the table. When they were closing up they didn't rush us or even glare at us while we hurried to finish the sushi! I adore this place. If I'm ever in town I'll be sure to stop by. I'm not usually in Rockwall but when I am, I like to try somewhere new! I made the right choice in choosing Sushi Box for my late-evening dinner. I got the Sushi Bento Box with a side of tuna sashimi. The bento box came with 4 california roll/maki, an assortment of 4 nigiri sushi-- shrimp, red snapper, tuna, and salmon, 3 pieces gyoza, 2 pieces tempura, miso soup, and house salad. Starting with the nigiri, I was delighted by the rice to fish ratio. With a bit of wasabi and shoyu, it really hit the spot. The tuna sashimi was a good quality, as well. I don't like when some places just deep fry their dumplings, so I really appreciated that the gyoza was a more traditional Japanese-style. The dipping sauce included was also traditional Japanese, so I appreciate the authenticity. The house salad and ginger dressing was fantastic; perfect amount of ginger that it's not so overwhelming but still packs a punch. Miso soup was simple but also authentic-- I could actually taste the real miso paste and washing down my meal with it was like the cherry on top. I will definitely be coming back the next time I'm craving authentic, good sushi! read more

First red flag for a sushi place was ordering at the counter. Every roll had fake imitation crab. Every roll they had to add sweet sauce to cover up the quality. When the California roll is bad, that's when you know nothing else can be good. Was definitely weary of eating any kind of raw fish from a place like this. Bento box was below average. My last review was 5 stars. I've visited several times and had delivery sent to our neighborhood in Fate. I even posted on our neighborhood FB group letting them all know that we now had a local place that would deliver sushi. I ordered tonight and felt rushed during my order on the phone. New delivery fees due to my location and up charges for my order that I hadn't had before. They forgot the sauces I specifically requested on the side and when I called them they didn't offer any kind of discount or refund. Just that they could send someone back out in about 20 minutes, which is obviously not a good option. $50 later and I don't see myself ordering again anytime soon. read more

Jan 23, 2018 update: First impression was a bad smell of fryer oil. Humidity high. Got sunset roll. One piece had no shrimp inside. Shrimp looked smaller than previous visit. Still tastes great. Just a little disappointed. Eel sushi looked smaller too. Can't complain about the price though. Less than half of what I would pay at Kyoto. Stopped in here on December 9th. This place has 4.5 star reviews, so thought would be top notch. We arrived around 1, and the place was mostly empty, except for about 4 people at Sushi bar. Seemed very clean, and counter guy was friendly. We had an order of steamed dumplings, shrimp crunch role, spicy tuna role, and a sushi bento box. The steamed dumplings are not steamed. There are several microwaves on the back counter. The dumplings were microwaved in a container full of water. Then they were pulled out of the hot water. They tasted frozen to me, not fresh made. Not what I expected with so many high reviews. The other items seemed fresh made. The spicy tuna was just OK, and wife liked her shrimp crunch roll. Over all a decent lunch spot, but by no means a 4.5 star sushi restaurant. read more

Do not doubt this small little sushi place as they are amazing. The food is amazing. The people are amazing. I can't believe I haven't been here sooner but I will forever be coming here from now on. Yesterday evening (8/19/2023), I called in a pick-up for sushi/sashimi combo plus edamame. When I got home, saw that the wasabi was missing. I called the store, explained the problem and was told that I could come back to get it. I further explained that this wasn't my error, and asked that they send the wasabi with one of their delivery people. I was told that "they do not do that" and I need to come get it. This experience left an even worse taste in my mouth than eating raw fish without wasabi and soy sauce. read more

Based on reviews we tried it. A couple things to know: first if you're reading this, good. Because the food is really good here. We ordered the Cajun Roll, miso soup and two other rolls. Very fresh. We will definitely be back. I did not give 5 stars because if you aren't reading this and just walk in, it is uninviting. The menu is poorly presented, seating is limited. Best sushi we have had in the past 5 years! Fresh and flavorful. The staff was also very understanding and accommodating of allergies we have. SushiBox's location is right off the east side of 66 and lake Ray Hubbard. We were thinking the next time, we may order take out and have a picnic at the park/walking trail off the lake.
