Box C - box is smaller than other places so they try to squish it all in. Teriyaki chicken was ok but some parts of the rice was hard. The sashimi was kind of wet. Chicken yakiudon - felt like it was missing some flavor. They do put a lot of toppings on though. Bbq unagi - the bbq unagi was more expensive than the unagi don so we anticipated the dish to have much more than a don. We were a little bit surprised at the dish to see 8 pieces. CHICKEN LITTLE BUSINESS! Asian woman with face diaper was rude, dismissive and raised her chicken voice when I asked for an iced latte. She replied "YEEES ICEEEED" like she was just hatching an egg and as if she was saying "yes what do you expect...". Anyway I just ignored Mrs.Grumpy and continued my order. She then barked "CASH OH CARD", I said cash and when I handed her the money she just stood their watching it as if she was waiting for the 123 bus or had brain freeze. We ordered some takeout sushi from Sushi Q Tea Cafe. The Fantuan app has some very reasonably priced deals for this place, including their aburi sushi. Aburi is quite nicely done at Sushi Q. You can get an affordably priced tray with some wonderful varieties of Aburi sushi on it. We were pleased with the ratio of rice to toppings. Some places use too much rice but Sushi Q did not. The food was warm when we picked it up, and they were quite generous with the amount of fish they used to make the sushi. They are also one of our favourite places for ordering Avocado roll. Many places skimp on the avocado and put more rice into the roll; at Sushi Q Tea Cafe the  Avocado rolls are very generously stuffed with avocado. Recently discovered this cute little place that I would had never realized was here all along. They have an extensive list of aburi oishi, rolls and nigiri if you enjoy your sushi torched! And prices are very reasonable with a good portion too! We ordered the Aburi Shrimp Oishi + Negitoro Roll + Aburi Salmon + Aburi Hokkaido Scallop + Box C. The Box C included cali roll, salad, sashimi, tempura, crisp chicken teriyaki on rice and miso soup - pretty great value for $13! But I would probably sub the crisp chicken teriyaki with something else next time as it was more of a chicken patty than fresh chicken teriyaki. Sushi Q Tea Cafe has been around for a while now but I've always been hesitant on visiting in the past because I never really knew what it was... is it a sushi place? Is it a bubble tea place? Well, I finally took the plunge and visited in late September. The interior is a bit homey (for loss of a better word). There are some couches in the front area and then some tables scattered about inside as well as shelves stocked with reading material (didn't check to see what kind of books they had). The chef wasn't there when I arrived so I had to wait a bit for my order (but they did tell me about this before I ordered). I decided to try their Poke Bowl ($11 for medium) which contains salmon, tuna, imitation crab, cucumber, tobiko, seaweed, tamago, avocado, aonori, and mayo as well as ordering their Lychee Green Tea ($4.25). The drink had just a hint of lychee flavour to it. I've read some posts where people say the service here is slow and I have to admit that it can take a while for the food to come out (even when there's not a big crowd in here). I did like how the imitation crab was fluffed up in the bowl and I thought that the food was pretty okay. That being said, it's a fairly limited menu offering here. read more

Well done, possibly the worst sushi in North America. $50 of garbage that isn't fit for human consumption. Yuck!!!

So I ordered sushi for delivery from this Sushi store today. I must say it was pretty decent. the fish was fresh and tasty. The spicy tuna roll and the salmon rol however were rolled terribly and fell apart while I was trying to chop stick them. a little more love and care would have sufficed with them. Now comes the best part. The wasabi. I hate wasabi that is so old its barely even spicy. that was clearly not the case with this wasbi because for the first time in like 5 years it brought tears to my eyes and made my nose run! way to go Sushi Q for having the freshest wasabi in town!!!! read more

This place is great. :) The decor is super cheesy and a hodgepodge of different stuff that may have been laying around the owners' basement. There is usually a boom-box playing some sort of music on top of the shelves full of books and magazines from Japan. They have a coffee table and seats around it which are oftentimes filled with Japanese teenagers on their lunch break or after school just hanging out. and shooting the breeze. They have wi-fi to access from your laptop or you can use their old computer in their internet-cafe corner. Love it!!! The people that run the place are very nice and there is always plenty of hot green tea patrons can help themselves to. The speciality in this place is bubble tea, which I'm not normally a fan of, followed by sushi. I think this is the only place I've ever had bubble tea that I actually liked!!! Twice! :) Their sushi is pretty good too. They offer daily specials that give a little break to the wallet but really the normal prices are quite good. It's not a pretty place and nowhere to go on a date, in my opinion, but I love it. It always feels like I'm being welcomed into someone's home when I go there and I get a warm fuzzy, happy feeling along with a tasty, light meal. read more

I'll make this sweet and short because I was really hoping to find a good bubble tea and sushi place but Sushi Q Tea was a huge let down. Firstly, I went off to order online seeing as that I wanted to get some sushi from around the neighbourhood and I've been living in the area for quite some time so figured why not try something nearby. I can't remember either it was the website that didn't notify me until an hour later or if I was written in really small print but either way, turns out they didn't do delivery until after a certain time that my order didn't qualify for. So my boyfriend and I waited for an hour without any notice or contact from the restaurant that they couldn't do the order since they needed confirmation as to if we still wanted it since they couldn't do delivery. Secondly, their sushi was quite bland. I can't remember what I order probably because the taste was quite awful. We had also ordered onigiri which was also a barely warm triangle of rice which is similar to what you can buy in Japan. However the onigiri's fillings were barely any bigger than the size of a quarter which was quite disappointing as I was hoping that it would be a bit more filling. Their bubble tea was absolutely horrid. I ordered the milk tea and it just tasted like water!! I mean for the price I really shouldn't have expected anything great but I won't be ordering from here again unfortunately. read more

We ordered sushi from this place just because they are very close to our house. We will never do this again. We had teriyaki chicken with rice and avocado and Alaska. The portions are TOO small, rolls were cold (as they were taken from the fridge), very small and not tasty at all. Seriously, I can't believe that some people actually love sushi from this place, they are probably never tried good sushi. I recommend you to stay away if you are true sushi lover, go try Asakusa, yes it's 15 min drive, but it's worth it. read more

I seen this place from out side many times and finally went in to try out their food. It look like a Japanese restaurant from outside. But when you actually go inside, it's actually more like bubble tea place. Their menu, decoration, magazine and books. So it's kinda like a fusion of sushi and bubble tea place. Their price is pretty good. This place also good for like coffee or tea and meeting friends. They also have free wifi there. I went back second time just for coffee and using their wifi.
