This place was disgusting. The quality and price here is ridiculous. I expect to have a better experience with gas station sushi. The spicy edamame was so salty I couldn't eat it. I've never had an issue finishing something because it was too salty. It was also $6 and it was just edamame with Siracha and salt on it. Tempura was horrible and the sweet dipping sauce was also oddly salty. Our rolls were also very bad and avocado in the rolls was rotten and brown. There was also a piece of plastic on the seaweed on my sushi roll. Most of my boyfriends rolls fell apart. Left with a $60 bill for an almost inedible meal. Nice small sushi joint here. Atmosphere is nice. Inside is kinda small so be prepared to bump chairs at tables or elbows at the bar. Overall the sushi is nice and fresh. Pleasantly surprised. I was in the area and stopped in for a quick lunch. I ordered the rainbow roll lunch combo (roll, 4 pcs sushi, soup/salad, and 3 or 4 pieces of a fried roll). Nigiri was generously portioned and it 4 pieces of fresh fish (no shrimp/eel). The rice under the fish was a little hard but that's me being picky. I didn't really care for the fried roll pieces that came with it but it wasn't bad and the rainbow roll was large and fresh. For $13 it was a good value, as I didn't leave hungry. Considering the size/quality of the nigiri, the 12pc sushi platter ($20) is what I'd like to try next. read more

Based on the great reviews I had a slim hope that this would be a decent Asian fusion restaurant. But I'm sorry to say that but they make bad Japanese food and just decent Korean food. We ordered some of their hot entree Chicken teriyaki (over cooked chicken, some kind of soy sauce. Not even teriyaki! With way too much vegetable!) not authentic at all Yakisoba (over cooked egg noodles, drenched in sauce with overcookes vegetables) not good! Udon (just your regular udon you can buy at the store and warm it up at home and just add some chicken, narutomaki and again these big chopped vegetables. I think they add carrots, broccoli and onions in all their dishes!! We also ordered one Korean dish. Spicy squid... the sauce was okay, squid was dry... We paid 60$ plus tip. Not worth coming back. Overall their cooking style reminds me of when someone had a bad day cooking and messed up dinner because they rushed or were too distracted. read more

My wife and I went back today but "I" was on a "special mission" to try something new. She was going to have the more traditional fare...like Maki's and Nigiris and I wanted to try one of their special dishes that is a kind of Sashimi Salad. On the menu it is called "Hoidobap". This dish comes in a very large bowl -going upward-, in the bottom of which is rice then salad, then a multitude of Raw Fish and comes with your choice of a Soya based sauce or Spicy Korean Sauce. We had it with the Spicy Korean Sauce. In a word, F A B U L O U S!!! And the portioning was really set for 2! ***I am ADDICTED***! We asked for water with lemon and we were told we had to buy water in a bottle. That was because RR water is not good to drink. When we would not they brought water with ice but forgot the lemon. I asked for a fork and was given a white plastic picnic fork. I don't think paying $14.95 a meal and having to eat with plastic silverware is ok. My husband asked that nothing have cucumber in it. Salad had a lot of cucumber . Waitress told him to pick it out. Asked for tempura sauce to go with the tempura and was told to use soy sauce. He said he didn't like soy sauce. She finally managed to find some 5 minutes later. It should have been served with his tempura. Bento box was served on plate not like their picture. Really bad attitude of waitress. When we left no tip because of poor service, she followed us out of the door to the parking lot to tell us we had to leave a 10% tip. REALLY!!! Very overpriced for small portions. My wife and I have tried about 30 things here, and everything has been really, really good. The sushi is always fresh and delicious... no exceptions (ever). My favorites are the rainbow roll, spicy crunch, cowgirl, volcano, and dynamite. Soooooo good. The staff is also really great. We've had just 2 sushi chefs in the past couple years, and both deliver the goods. Waitresses have come and gone, but they always take good care of us. The miso soup is excellent. We eat miso everywhere, and this is in the top 2 or 3 miso recipes of all the places we go. Very nice... not too fishy, and not too salty. Very smooth. Pork bulgogi is very good... perfect spice mix. Salmon teriyaki is very good... cooked on the skin (and it falls right off). Chicken teriyaki is good as well, but every once in a while the chicken is too chewy (like it's been frozen too long). All the appetizers we've tried are very good... gyoza and calamari never disappoint. Highly recommended. read more

Times have changed for the better... and so has this location; by leaps and bounds. At this location, there was a previous business that catered to similar food fare, name withheld to protect the innocent, but now the new owners have revived the location to new high levels. First appearances are everything. The new owners got it right. It's cozy, quiet, welcoming, and simply feels better now when you walk in (than before). While dining in, I had Salmon Sashimi and the Spicy Ramen with tea. The salmon sashimi was good and as good as you would expect, but the things I would like to give great stars to was the Spicy Ramen (with fried egg). There are many places to eat Pho around the area North of Austin and in Round Rock, but not many that serve Ramen essentially. I have to say, their broth, meat, noodles, and flavors were really great on my bowl of Ramen I was given. The chicken broth base was a red/orange tomato flavor looking Ramen with meat, veggies, and a solid spicy kick that was everlasting in each bite or slurp. It wasn't just added in to make it "spicy" in your mouth when you first ate it (then fades), it was good all the way through. I have a spicy palate and it only took me about two bites and slurps to make my nose wake up and my stomach to crave more. I can totally see myself coming back here when I have a stuffy head or am feeling ill; as this Spicy Ramen would definitely start me on a road to a cure. Overall, I do see myself coming back for more. Their menu had a wide variety of Asian items that drew my interests. One of the items in the appetizer section was called the "monster." It was an avocado mixed with spicy shrimp, cheese, etc. and seemed good. The young lady who waited on me noted that it was one of her favorites. So, therein lies many choices on the menu and I hope that I have time to come back and try them all, but for now; the sushi/sashimi may be good, but come for the Spicy Ramen because it tastes great! read more

This is one of my favorite places to go for sushi. I love coming here for many reasons. I love the easy parking, and there is almost always a table so no waiting. The menu has a lot of variety, and I love to choose the special inclusive meal that comes with soup, salad and two sushi rolls. Our server was an older woman who could not speak much English, I think she was Japanese or maybe Korean. But I would argue this adds to the authenticity of the experience of this sushi restaurant. I love the quiet atmosphere and the style in this restaurant. I never leave feeling like I am bogged down with oily food, and food leaves me feeling healthy, delighted, and happy. I always look at bathrooms when I visit restaurants. I am thrilled that this restaurant has a gender neutral bathroom, but maybe I am even more thrilled that the bathroom is so accommodating with a big table inside of it to put your belongings. If I could give zero I would. I ordered take out at 7:30 pm and when I got home to eat, the egg on top was not fully cooked. Not the yolk but the white. It was very runny. I called and they were closed so I took a video of it and had to throw it away. I called the next afternoon to tell them and was hoping for a refund si de it was $15. the man that answered was the same man that helped the night before. When I explained, he started loudly talking to someone else who was a female and after 5 minutes of going back and forth with her and them arguing with me I decided to take my losses. Even when I explained that I had a video and could show them, it fell on deaf ears. I let them know That we will not be returning. Horrible way to treat your customers. read more
