PHENOMENAL. That is my first thought reminiscing back at the meal that I had here. We actually tried to go 2 other different sushi places while we were in the area but we couldn't get parking for the first spot and the second spot had a really long wait time without reservation. I called @ Sushi and I was told that it would be only a 5-10 minute wait and we were able to get meter parking right next to the library close by. I'll be honest and review my biases though, seeing a name like @ Sushi I thought it would be a sushi place focused on roles or catering to a more "Americanized" palate, but seeing that they have an omakase, "Chef's Special", I was convinced (along with the shorter wait time and available parking). And I am so glad that I gave this place a try. This is a really dark thought, but after eating the omakase here, I couldn't help but to think, "Maybe being alive is okay. Despite all the hardships in life, I'm able to eat delicious food like this? Makes everything worth it." Okay so back to the ACTUAL review. When we got there, we were let known that it would take around another 5-10 minutes just to clear out the tables and get them ready for us, which was no biggie since there was a heated flame out in the front for us to wait and because of this, it didn't feel super cold. Very random aside, but I think its so cute that the singular bike racks in this area are red and heart shaped. Cute touch! I believe it was the owner who was communicating with us the entire time and he made sure to let us know all of the updates and I saw him running around the restaurant checking up on all of the patrons. He informed us on everything and answered all of our questions. I also saw that he was also very communicative with the bussers, wait staff, chefs, etc. That is some good hustle and leadership! As for the wait staff that served us, they also had awesome customer service too! We ordered the: 1) Fresh Oysters: -This came with 2 large oysters on a bed of ice. Both were delectable, buttery, and fresh. -Can't go wrong with this especially if you love oysters! 2) Dynamite: -Baked shrinp, scallop, and kani (crab stick) on a deep fried tortilla. Super rich and creamy, especially with the yum yum sauce on top. Not a bad appetizer, but with how good the chef's special was, perhaps we should have skipped out on this. 3) Chef's Choice (x2): -This is their omakase, served all at once in a very Instagrammable and aesthetically pleasing grid box. -Each of these orders came with a very generously portioned salad with the orange vinaigrette. -All of the seafood was extremely fresh and very high quality! They also let us know the source of all of our food, and this dish came from all over the world! Japan, Korea, Spain, Norway! -Although we ordered 2 of the chef's choices, THEY WERE NOT IDENTICAL. -Yes there were some similar squares of servings, but there were some fish that the other box did not have! -Just to summarize what we got in the chef's choice, it was an array of sashimi and fish on rice. This included salmon, tuna, scallops, uni, mackerel, and I believe red snapper/sea bream and ono (not too entirely sure though). -Aside from how delicious the fish was, each of us had our own favorite offering and mine was definitely the negitoro on rice. The creaminess of the mashed up fatty tuna with the sharp flavor of the green scallions. I'm drooling right now reminiscing on how good it was. Definitely more than enough to serve a party of 3 and we left with our stomachs and hearts so full and happy. Cannot recommend this place enough! read more

This place is really a gem. While it may not be immediately apparent when you first walk up to it, some of the best sushi is served here. The fish is really high quality, fresh and very well presented. I've enjoyed the seared salmon roll, the carpaccios and a few of the other rolls. All have been excellent. So much so, that I've enjoyed eating here more than I have at sugar fish and nobu. @Sushi is kind of a little more low key then those places in the setting and decorations but the fish is really creatively presented and honestly some of the best rolls I've had are here. read more

This sushi spot is absolutely amazing. It definitely is deserving of its rating! I know sometimes rating may set up unrealistic expectations, but I must admit that they follow through. The cream cheese wonton was so unique and delicious. First off, it looks just like a taquito. Secondly, the dish was so tasty. I've had cream cheese wontons before, but not like THIS! The dynamite appetizer was definitely one of a kind. It was shaped similar to a tostada, but had a very unique Japanese flavor to it. Definitely something to try. The rolls we had were the tiger roll and dragon roll. There's not much to say except that it definitely hits the spot when hungry. Do yourself a favor and eat at this spot! Tldr; literally my new favorite sushi spot in the OC/LA region Time: 8 PM on a Wednesday. Got seated immediately Parking: side-street parking but walking distance to soooo many places around and the pier is like a 5 min walk and is so beautiful at night Service: 10/10 the owner is so sweet and attentive. The price is a little high but for the quality and the thickness of the cut, it was so worth it. We had to order seconds because it was just that good! Candy roll 10/10 would order this one again! Had everything I wanted in a roll and the raw salmon on top really balanced the crunch of the shrimp tempura inside. Overall my favorite roll on the menu (so far!) Surprise roll 7/10 felt that the spicy tuna overpowered everything else on the roll. We visited @Sushi for outdoor dining the weekend before all restaurants were required to do takeout only again. We called ahead to put our name on the waiting list, which was a good call because they were busy. Their vegetable tempura was good, and the rolls we ordered were good too. They forgot to bring out one of my rolls and sauce but apologized and took it off our bill. I felt bad because the owner (?) was very apologetic - it was a busy night for them so I was understanding! The specialty rolls will suite any guest, however I tend to order sashimi so I can taste the quality. The Yellow Tail and Tuna melt in your mouth! Amazingly delicious food and equally as amazing presentation! My friend and I decided to try out this place on a Sunday night and we ordered a variety of items including the Dragon Roll, Tiger Roll, Dynamite and Cream Cheese Wontons. Both the Dragon Roll and Tiger Roll were fresh, flavorful, delicious and beautifully presented on a wooden board. The Dynamite appetizer is a baked combination of scallop, kani (imitation crab) and shrimp on a deep fried tortilla which was tasty. The tortilla was an interesting choice to include in this dish and it worked really well adding a nice crisp in every bite. The Cream Cheese Wontons which is kani and cream cheese deep fried in wonton wrap was AMAZING. I've never seen cream cheese wontons in this form before, looked kind of similar to a cannoli. It was really fun and interesting to eat. I loved how creamy the center was in contrast to the crispiness of the wonton wrap. The kani they use in it is really good and has a nice stretch like mozzarella cheese. My friend and I loved this appetizer and would've ordered a second helping if we weren't so full. The chefs definitely put a lot of thought into the presentation for all their dishes, it shows through the aesthetic plating and careful placement. This is one of the few restaurants that I've been thoroughly impressed with both the taste of the food and the artistic presentation. Service was pretty quick and it didn't take too long for our food to come out. The staff was friendly and attentive. Parking is limited however, there is meter parking closeby. I highly recommend coming here for the delicious and beautifully presented food. It's a superb place in Long Beach for a meal with friends or a date. read more

The best part about this restaurant was that there was no wait on a Friday night and that it is a small casual environment. Parking is not the easiest. The easy walk-in is probably attributed to the fact that the sushi was a little on the higher-end side of prices. The food was delicious but a little expensive considering the competition and the fact that you're not paying for the most precious environment or view. The restaurant itself doesn't even have a bathroom inside of the building, one needs to walk outside to a bathroom connected outside to access the bathroom. The service was decent. Have been passing by this sushi place for a while now since its right beside my go-to cheese shop (cheese addiction) and finally got to try it on New Year's Day and I loved it!!
