My absolute favorite sushi place of all time. I think everyone who eats at this restaurant is a regular, which speaks volumes about the staff and the welcoming atmosphere they create. The owner goes the extra mile to do his rounds and to make sure the food is good (it's phenomenal every time). Found this gem of a place in Belmont shore when we visited to see the Naples Christmas lights, as it's just a few blocks away. The reviews were great, but there were no pics at the time and I had no idea what to expect, not to mention that we were bringing guests. Well, the restaurant was wonderful, the people were friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. The sushi was fantastic! FIrst time here and I think the verdict is I've definitely found my fave sushi spot outside of Sugarfish in the LA area...and luckily, it's right in my backyard in Long Beach! We had the sashimi sampler, the Long Beach roll, a philly roll, a yellowtail cut roll, and some yakitori shrimp as well as a salad with ginger dressing. All of the items were delicious and you can also order a side of fresh wasabi, rather than the horseradish paste you're probably used to. The presentation of the dishes is beautiful and the service here was great. Definitely recommend for a sushi spot--they also seem to have an omakase tasting menu (steep though at $99pp). read more

The service is what really earned this restaurant 5 stars. I called in advance to try and make a reservation and was unfortunately unable. Even though I wasn't able to make a reservation the employee taking the call was VERY helpful and suggested the least busiest times and was very welcoming. Upon arriving at the resturant the service was great, all servers were very kind and kept my glass full. Even the manager walks around the resturant and helps out. AWESOME STAFF AND FOOD! read more

The service was good, servers were attentive and the food came out pretty quick. The fish for the sushi was a decent size and rice ratio was perfect. The rolls were pretty good and so was the spicy garlic edamame. We do have to note that the draft beers were flat, it did not taste crisp as it should be when the tap is good. read more

We recently moved to Lakewood. Normally we have sushi in J-Town or Torrance, but we don't really want to drive too far. We had sushi at a spot in Lakewood a month ago, but it was terrible. A relative recommended this place, and I have to say, I was skeptical. Anyway, we came at around 7:30pm on a Saturday. Parking was not too easy, but luckily we found street parking nearby. The interior is really well done. We could immediately tell that there is major customer loyalty, since I believe it is the owner that greets everyone and there were a lot of regulars. The servers are very friendly and attentive. I was very surprised that they had a great selection of fish (great fish) and even had ankimo (monkfish liver) and natto (fermented soybeans) too. The salmon skin salad also is the best salad I have ever had! We loved everything about this really great place and definitely will be back soon! read more

There was a little bit of a wait to get a table (went on a Fri night around 8pm, no reservations). But after we ordered, the sushi came out pretty fast. We ordered the lemon roll, which I didn't expect to be one of the rolls on fire, but it was - and it was a nice surprise! The roll was delicious too!! It's one of the more underrated sushi places on 2nd street and always offers a quiet atmosphere, and friendly and quick service. My top sushi restaurant to go to in the South bay. I discovered this place back in 2021 with my family and it is our go to sushi spot for celebrations or just to get some great food. Usually never a wait if you go right when it opens and the super friendly staff seat you fast. The owner himself is the best and talks his customers, giving the place a very cozy feel. Highly would recommend the green mussels and spicy garlic edamame's as appetizers. For the rolls themselves, their California tempura roll and the candy roll are phenomenal. Sushi was still delicious and the service super friendly. We started with the Green Muscles which were delicious and smokey in taste, but a tad overcooked. We then tried the Candy Roll, the Dragon Roll, the Rainbow Roll, and the Baked Lobster Roll. Loved the Baked Lobster Roll! Such an awesome combinations of a roll filled with vegetables and topped with perfectly baked Lobster. If you like eel, the Dragon Roll which also includes spicy tuna is also worth an order. My friend Kelly Tap kept talking about this place. I've been wanting to try it out. We walked by here once but it was closed. So glad she brought me here for my birthday! We got p*rn star parking right in front and it was perfect because we got here after 7:45pm so we didn't have to pay the meter. Anyway, as soon as we walked up to the door, we were greeted by such a handsome young man, Caden, who showed us to the sushi bar (where I wanted to sit because I love action). And as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, Mr. Song. He bought us a bottle of sake (Junmai Ginjo) or two and we ordered our sushi & rolls (UNI - my favorite! The Long Beach roll, salmon sashimi, Japanese scallops "hotate") and the "heart attack" appetizer. So yummy! Service is great! Place is fun! It's cool because it comes out on a large wooden tray, and they set it out so nicely. My favorite roles are the Long Beach Roll and Candy Roll because the yellowtail and tuna is so good! The service is great. All servers are attentive and friendly. The owner, Song, is so welcoming. I think he has a lot of returning customers, not only because of the yummy sushi, but also because of him!
