Wow, the sushi here is seriously high quality. The tuna sushi melts in your mouth, as does the yellowtail and seared tuna. Even the Hawaiian roll, which sounded so regular, was amazing in quality and taste. The Japanese chef kept checking in on us too, to make sure everything was great. This was our first time here at @sushi and we honestly weren't sure what to expect. But once we sat down and received service, we quickly realized why they had 5 stars. The service for starters is amazing. Incredibly friendly and on point! But what really sold us was John the sushi chef. We sat at the sushi bar and were able to observe him make every roll and the amount of pride and attention to detail really made us understand why this place is so good. All the effort he put into making the rolls resonated in its taste and we were more than satisfied with everything from start to finish. Unfortunately this was the worse sushi I've had in a long time. I ordered the rainbow roll and it was presented well, but the fish was horrible. Each piece had an extremely unpleasant color, odor and texture. I usually order sushi or sashimi but unfortunately was not even able to stomach this roll. The piece of salmon on the roll still had some skin on it. My server was fantastic, but unfortunately I have to give two stars based on the quality of their fish. I hope my experience was a mistake and not the standard quality of their fish. read more

Wow wow wow. Sushi is my favorite food. I'd like to say I'm a sushi connoisseur, which is good and bad sometimes. My pallet is very picky, and I can tell whether the sushi is fresh. Everything about this place was fabulous - from the presentation, service, to every single dish. Best rainbow roll I've had. Baked scallops roll is THE BEST THING I'VE EVER TASTED! I'm obsessed with sushi, so I'm always looking for good places. At Sushi is my favorite I've tried since moving to Long Beach, and I've been to at least 12. Delicious fresh fish, great service and a great atmosphere. We had gyoza, cream cheese wontons, the 5372 roll (yuuum), an albacore roll with garlic chips (forgot the name), tuna and yellowtail nigiri and the mochiyaki dessert. I tend to be picky with sushi, and this place is all-around bomb! I'll be back! read more

Fantastic! The bbq shirt ribs is the best I ever had because the quality of the meat is excellent. The meat alone is so tasty, the fact that the marinated sauce is very light which is genius because anything heavier, saltier, or sweeter would have ruined it. Curry was tasty with just the right spiciness. The salad was surprisingly tasty too as I'm not a salad person. All the rolls we tried were equally tasty and good quality. read more

Went here because I filtered for kid friendly places to eat and this came up. The ambiance didn't really seem kid friendly but the food made up for it. My kids, 11&12 loved the rolls and the garlic edamame. They tried the rainbow, bamboo, California, and veggie rolls. read more

Pretty standard place to eat if you want to go out for decent sushi. (FYI The bathroom in this restaurant is out on the side of the building, which it thought was strange. I live in Irvine and make the drive for this sushi! It is so good every time my stomach is always happy after! I have tried a bunch of places all around Orange County with not much luck and some pretty nasty experiences so I was super happy to find this place. The fish tastes fresh, the presentation is awesome, the baked salmon roll is brought out on fire , and when it was open for dine in the sushi chefs were very friendly! I wish I lived closer I would definitely eat here more but I do make the trip at least once or twice a month! Another thing they do well is their unique rolls! The Mexican roll is super super tasty and I'm forgetting what it's called now but there is one wrapped in egg which was incredible as well!! Any who, if you're looking for good sushi it's well worth the trip, definitely check this place out! read more

new place in the shore. Just across from Roe. Welcome to the neighborhood. I like the place. Feels right in the space. Pleasant staff. The menu is very typical. The fish was great. Very fresh. All good. Except. I ordered Saba. Sushi. "Market price". Saba is considered sort of junk fish. And it's cheap. So when I got hit for $18 for one order of Saba I about passed out. Beware. They lost a star there. It'll be a while 'till I recover. Oh. Not maybe so much their fault, but the bathroom is literally outside and a couple doors down. I hope they do well. This has been a traditionally difficult space. read more

This place is great. We had their lobster roll, caterpillar roll and curry. Everything was top notch and could tell all their ingredients, preparation and presentation were as well. We've been loyal to the other place down the street, but we will likely come here from now on. Slightly more expensive than our other joint, but we don't mind paying when the quality is top notch. Came in for lunch last week and it did not disappoint! The lunch menu had a great variety of items from chirashi, different rolls, udon, curry, teriyaki and short ribs. Loved loved loved the sushi. It was so fresh and delicious and the presentation beautiful. Song came out to greet me and my friend, as well as others there to make sure everything was going well. Hands down the absolute best Sushi in Long Beach. The sushi is super fresh and delicious. You won't find an overdone roll dripping in spicy mayo here. Every dish is prepared with thought and care for the patron. The sashimi, nigiri, and carpaccios needed absolutely zero soy sauce. What a beautiful gem! My fiance and I have traveled many places in search for amazing sushi that was fresh, creative, and just left a satisfying feeling at the end of the meal and we found it! The crab roll special was amazing! But our favorite of all was the French Kiss roll. Who knew the egg wrap would work perfectly in this, we have never seen it been used before!
